Vinny is one of greatest metal drummers ever and his Brother Dime is just on another level than the rest of the world. Combining blues and metal changed music and no body can match his style. Best band to come out of Texas, in my opinion. Dimebag Darrell, the guitar player, and Vinnie Paul, the drummer, are brothers. RIP. Dimebag was barred from playing in guitar contests as a kid because he would win them all. The guy, admittedly, only knew two scales, but he just had so much natural talent. It was such a great loss for the guitar and metal community the day he was murdered. Truly heartbreaking.

Brother having lived in Houston ,Tx I’ve seen Pantera play all the way back to the late 80s before they had major records out, but they still made a huge living as teenagers selling independently released records on their own. The drummer and guitarist are brothers and since then have passed away. Darrell Abbott the guitarist is among one of the greatest guitarist of his genre and within music itself. Sadly he was assassinated ON STAGE back on December 7, 2004 in Columbus, OH. This is a starting point go back and listen to their records and research their history, you’ll become a live long fan. They provided us with a lifetime of music and some of the best concert memories of my early life (I’m in my 50s now)

Slayer and Pantera after kept the faith and the faithful rewarded them greatly.

The part when he asks "what is my name?" and you reply "Revolution", followed by Phil saying "Revolution" was I must admit-kinda mind blowing for me. You got it man, you actually got it on a first listen. I also really liked the take about a captain or whatever leading his troops into battle and not needing a pep talk. That's spot on. I literally visualized myself hopping into a Hum-V, pushing play, and looking at the guys around me with what I could only describe as "the look". No pep talk needed, just a vibe. Final thought, I actually liked the comment about not being able to listen to songs like this everyday or several times a day on a loop. The best metal in my opinion is like a fine wine. It gets better with time, and when you decide to crack open that bottle you appreciate it even more. It's all about the timing. Thanks for being open minded, it helps me to be more open minded as well. Music can be a bridge, and bring different points of view together for a deeper understanding of where someone is coming from.

Listening to Pantera from their first album to the last is a really unique experience, you can hear how they go heavier and heavier, then they ended with a southern groovy heavy ahh metal, truly legends

RIP Dimebag and Vinny! I grew up 10 miles from the brothers and would see them at live metal shows across the DFW and one of their frequent hangouts was a local bowling alley on $5 pitcher night. Not only was their music incredible, but the brothers were great down to earth guys that loved to have fun everywhere they went with anyone they met. The way Dime went out, murdered in cold blood on stage, was a dark dark day for our community and all fans. Thanks for honoring them with a reaction, welcome to another band like Tool that will keep your finger on Play throughout the discography. Getcha Pull!

When you said "flip a burger without a spatula" it got me, I've done that while grilling burgers while drinking a beer and listening to metal. I didn't know where I had put it, and they had to be flipped before cooking too much. Then I preceded to get yelled at by my wife. Metal is the way

I was in a crappy cover band in the late 80s in Dallas before I joined the Army in 1989, and we played on the same stage with Pantera sometimes at a club called "The Basement" before they were famous. I have a few Dimebag and Vinnie stories. I didn't really get to know Rex or Phil (Phil joined not long before I joined the Army). When their sets were done, they'd kind of disperse and hang out separately. I play guitar, bass, and drums, but I mainly consider myself a guitarist first and foremost, so I hung out with Dime, and Vinnie and Dime were always together, so I hung out with both. The last time I saw Dime and Vinnie was in 1997 when they threw me a bachelor party at Vinnie's Clubhouse, which was an all-nude BYOB club he owned in Arlington. Many "Black-Tooth Grins" were consumed that night.

Loved the reaction my friend! Hey, I know you have listened to Aurora, but the Viking metal comment made me think of one of my favorite songs ever- Helvegen by Wardruna. They have a live performance with Aurora and she absolutely slays with them.
Wardruna isn’t metal, but they play music that aligns with my Norse heritage and it means a lot to me because they try to keep the instruments and feeling of their music in sync with music played in the old world. Even if you don’t film a reaction of it, I think you would enjoy it.
    Enjoy your weekend!
