We are baaack with our Affordable Liveaboard Yacht Series, or in this case SuperYacht 😝 We are very excited to have found this 1984 PALMER JOHNSON 84' CLASSIC MOTOR YACHT as she has A LOT to offer to her future owner. The current owner has extensively cruised with this Liveaboard SuperYacht (yes, she is a superyacht by definition being over 80ft!), taking her up to the Chicago area every year. Seeing a Classic yacht being adequately maintained and loved is just so amazing. Foldable Mast is what makes this Yacht so special and perfect for the Loop!
She would make an amazing Liveaboard Contender and is currently listed for sale for $695,000. Enjoy the Tour!
😜 Let me know what you guys think of this one in the comments

Huge Thank you to John Booysen for allowing us to explore on our own!

Affordable Liveaboard Series is back! 👌🏻🙌🏻 what do you think of this Palmer Johnson?
It seems the price increased 50% in only 2 months. I guess I'm gonna wait for the upcoming crisis and leveling of prices
It's awesome to see something people can sell their home and retire on again. Unfortunately I was getting tired of seeing 20 million unobtainable yachts. Affordable older restored/refitted yachts is why I became a fan of NautiStyles.
@@curly213 Affordable is up to 400k. Anything above that is not affordable
@@Burevestnik9M730 Sorry, but this could be affordable for me if I sold my house and used a little retirement. And I'm just a blue collar schmuck
For the quality condition and heritage of the yatch 650k is a quite reasonable price.
When a boat is on its THIRD engine, you know that this vessel has put in work!!!
The Owner’s Cabin is CLASSIC!!!
💯💯🙌🏻
My favorite videos are the ones like this where you find a unique boat or ship. I like things that break away from the mainstream.
👌🏻💯🙏🏻
I think this is my favorite boat of all the walk throughs I've seen you do.
I am in love with the older yachts. The classical style is timeless. This is one of the finest examples I've seen in a long time. Keep them coming please!
I totally agree with you. This ship has beautiful lines... both classic and classy.
Dittos
Back in the '80s Palmer Johnson was the one of the best when I came to the yachts. And I remember they were Palmer Johnson of Savannah Georgia
Thanks for sharing
Victoria with the stripes in two directions ! 👍🙂. This is a beauty……..beautiful lines…….and on 3rd set of engines. You don’t hear that very often. Maybe more square footage than the house it’s docked alongside of ? 😂. Cant believe this is 1984……it’s gorgeous !
I look at a lot of yachts, and this one is beautiful. Even though she is nearing 40, she still has that 'X' factor.
Interesting layout. It has a formal feel in the salon but have that cockpit and table really makes for a great entertaining area.
Glad you found it interesting
Previous owner REALLY loved their yacht. Also the fact that the owners took this boat out and really used it means it was impeccably maintained, they don't want to break down or have issues while they are out cruising. I also like the aft cockpit design, looks like it would be a great boat to fish out of.
👌🏻🙌🏻💯
May The Lord comfort the peeps in FL. So many ppl living in an unbelievable situation. It'll be months before basic services are up and running again. Know we out here praying and sending love and positive energy your way.
♥️☹️😢
😞💔🙏🏻💙
I would live aboard this beauty. She has everything I would need. I would probably spend most of my time in the galley area. In the salon, I would put the 2 chairs somewhere else. Then have a large computer desk, with lots of storage, in that space. Along with a good sized rocker recliner. Good tour of a really good yacht.
The old intro to a new video. I like these Palmer Johnson yachts. Not a fan of the 120 Sport cruisers they made, but these are quite nice. They made some unique yachts back in the day.
I prefer old boats like this than new ones. This has been well looked after too.
I think this is a great boat. I like the way the mast can be stored. My grandchildren would really like their summer vacation on it. Thanks
Great tour. Super nice yacht, especially cool seeing "She Sends Her Regrets" by Jim Buckels, in the owner's Suite!
I just LOVE this one. Nice and versatile layout. I'm always a big fan of pullman berths. That's a lot of boat for under $700'000 !
You probably didn't see the same age yacht but much bigger sold for $400k only few months ago. This price is ridiculously high.
@@Burevestnik9M730 You mean the Cheoy Lee 90? meh. Fiberglass hull, slow, no indoor dining area.
Liked the crow's nest and crew quarters, though
Glad you like it!
@S. Clarke Yes. Sold because it was affordable. ~$40k per year maintenance and repairs or ~3300 per month on average. By renting out a 1mil. condo it is possible to get back these $3300. The remaining income is $2000 pension plus $2500 wife's digital nomad remote work income for a total of $4500, for family of 4. Probably sufficient as right now I spend $3000 on Visa per month plus $2000 condo maintenance I have to pay to condo rogue board.
@@swisswildpicsswp3095 How much does crew cost? Are there such resources for hire and that's their occupation? I know that Musk and Larry Ellison can afford crew and hire people, but a 40yr old yacht?!
Another great tour. Such a grand old vessel, shows the craftsmanship and time honored design from this shipyard. The owners should be congratulated on their ownership and love of this vessel and having Nautistyles show her to the world. I think Nautistyes should rate the vessels, this would be a blue anchor classic ( to go with your logo ).
I’d love to dive this when it becomes a wreck…and I can’t even swim!
Was just thinking I wish they would tour more older or unusual boats/yachts and viola!. I love the subdued floral earth tone upholstery and venerable quality, she's a beaut!.
Value is off the charts... like NautiStyles.
when you have something that is older and you put the time in to look after it you get a wonderful feeling inside. Congrats to the current owners.
👌🏻🎉
For me, this yacht screams old style taste. I like the way the interior is decorated. Very comfortable. Definitely a classic. Thank you guys for another great tour.
Thanks for watching
Now THAT is REAL value!!!!! Love it!!! Well maintained. Would not be afraid of the 4000 hours after an engine survey. Didn't see stabilizers. Maybe unnecessary on this boat after going thru 2 1/2 engine swaps. Can't image that much time on a hull without stabilizers. Either a real testament to the sea kindliness of a Palmer Johnson or the owner stuck to intercoastal waters.
Love the christmas tree in the pilot house! Pretty cool!
Hi - thanks a lot. The lowest bridge clearances on the loop are about 15 feet on the New York State Canal System. This yacht would just make the Chicago River Clearances which are just a tad over 19 feet. There are actually a few different paths for the loop. The variances are basically in the Eastern US. From East to West on the Great Lakes west to Chicago to South on the Mississippi to Gulf of Mexico then back to Florida is the same for all. There is North on the Hudson River and West through the Erie Canal to the Great Lakes or continue North to the Lake Champlain Canal to Lake Champlain to the Chambly Canal to the St Lawrence River. From the St Lawrence you can go the either West to the Great Lakes or East to the Atlantic. You can go North up the Eastern US Seaboard skipping the Hudson which this yacht would have to do because it is too tall for the New York State Canal system to the St Lawrence then West to the Great Lakes. Or you can go the other way around the go North up the Mississippi from the Gulf to Chicago then West to East on the Great Lakes out the St Lawrence and South down the US Seaboard. There is also a set of Canals in Canada which I know less about. Thanks again for all the great videos
WOW! You really know your way around! Always good to know for sure!👍✌️
The Chicago clearance is 19'6", which is exactly the height quoted on this boat IIRC. And you are correct, the Erie Canal has a 15'6" clearance. So you would need to cruise through Canadian waters to bypass it and access the Hudson River.
The only limit on the Canadian Trent Severn Waterway is a length of 90', for the locks. No height restrictions.
As a side note, most marinas along the rivers won't be able to accommodate boats longer than 42ft, so this length becomes a practical limit.
@@manuelbettencourt7413 This is not a practical Loop boat. You are usually looking at smaller Krogans or something like the Nordhavn 41, which was specifically sized for this sort of motoring. You can take big yachts like this if you want, but you need to account for that. That would, I imagine, be the job of the professional Captain mentioned. Though, it wouldn't break my heart to have to stop at Montreal. Nautisyles doesn't really review boats of the smaller size of most loop boats, really only Aquaholic does. He just reviewed a 46 foot Botnia Targa which is much more of the size you mention.
There's just something so awesome about these older well kept boats. I love the variety of boats on your channel. How boring would it be to just see brand new super yachts all the time. Love the layout. With a new interior designer to update a few cosmetic things here and there this boat would be the envy of everyone . Love it !
So glad you are loving these tours
Love the Galley and the flybridge!!! Another great video.
Thanks, Victoria. You guys always do such a good job !
🙏🏻💙
Your channel reminds me of the old show "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous", but not over the top or obnoxious like the old show. We love cruising, so these yachts are so fun to see. Great job!
Visibility is great. Updates very classy
38 years old. Immaculate. Wow. I could see myself living full time on this
I have to say the orange ones are slick 😊
As always I love your Boat tours it’s awesome to wake up to a new video !
And that is an excellent price for that yacht Very well-maintained
For 695k - that is a steal for such a lovely boat. Loved the cockpit design - like a command deck is right. Always liked the look of the Palmer Johnson. More of these would be great.
🙌🏻👌🏻
Much prefer these older yachts to a lot of the more modern ones - just so much character, and I think they seem a lot more comfortable.
YES! Feels unhurried yet it wants to go. Not a marina queen, but still a beauty.
I am not sure why.
What a lovely old lady, well worth the ask. 3rd set of engines? Wow, she must have some miles under her keel!
The layout is not that unusual for a PJ, it places the engine room and galley/crew quarters within easy reach of the bridge which of course is ideal for passage making.
Just under the length limit for the Trent-Severn of 90 feet. Wow! A whole 5" clearance for the mile 300.6 bridge outside of Chicago LOL TBH, even subtracting the radar mast it doesn't LOOK that low! Oops! a 6' draft will seriously limit where you go on the loop, you'll have to take the Oswego canal up to Lake Ontario and then the Welland canal to Lake Erie since the Trent-Severn requires 5 feet or less. This would be a perfect coastal cruiser/live-aboard for anyone who loves the classic lines.
Thanks for sharing
What a great yacht! But those sunglasses, wow,!
Wow, 1984? Talk about ahead of its' time. Beautiful vessel and as always, well presented by you guys.
Definitely a lot of boat for the money. You can tell the owners really loved her.
I love the "traditional classic" style of this boat.
2nd video I'm rewatching. I wish ya'll would do more of these affordable older yachts that would make excellent liveaboards
We do at least 1 a month
I’d love to see a tour of a late 30’s to early 50’s Chris Craft live aboard style yacht.
@S. Clarke I cannot remember the name of it, I was very young but what I do vaguely remember is it had 3 motors and it was big. But I fell in love with it’s style.
I love the older yachts so much.
Classic details, like a fine piece of furniture that was made with love and attention to details.
This is a perfect live aboard.
Absolutely love this boat! The owners are so fortunate to have such a beautiful vessel. Have to admit, I am a bit jealous!
Love these guys, their exploration of each boat they go on gives a full view of what is available, plus… thank you.
So glad you guys tour the older yachts as well as the newer ones. Great video!!
Thank you
Love these older boats.
Nice classic yacht. Nice presentation as always. Thanks V & Ricco.
This yacht was designed by Tom Fexas.
I new Tom and when the boat was new it was shown at the Fort Lauderdale Florida Boat Show. Tom gave me a tour of this boat and I was very impressed. It was a beautiful yacht then and it's wonderful to see it is still beautiful today.
Liking the new wardrobe, Victoria. Ricco's sunglasses match your dress nicely. Interesting boat as well.
I didn't think a yacht this size would be able to do the loop. That's amazing.
draft could be a problem in parts of the ICW....but yep, amazing indeed
A beautiful classic yacht. I love the dark wood all throughout. This boat is "very" unique. I really enjoy the outtakes. Stay safe. 🛥😎💪💕🍷
Thanks for watching and taking the time to like and comment
Love the sunglasses. Grey and orange
Steel hull, turn the flybridge into the upper sealed helm, curve the aft and seal that off, and you have a design that would make an amazing explorer cruiser! Stunning vessel mind...!
WOW!! Stunning yacht! Even for an older yacht it's remarkable! I love it! & Love you two, love watching your video tours!❤️😀👍✌️
Our pleasure!
Very nice. Extremely well maintained.
Exquisite. Only one thing that needs changing, and that’s the curtain by the stove. 🥴😳🤪 The love shows throughout this boat. I love it. Come on lottery. 🤪❤️👍 PS. I even like the fun house heads. 😂
Palmer Johnson is an iconic yachting experience! Very classy and this beauty has been loved and well maintained for many years. Would LOVE to 'do the loop' with this awesome yacht! Victoria, I think the orange glasses match that dress perfectly! Take care guys and see y'all next time!! ⚓
Thank you so much!
Wow great yacht! Great find! 👍👍
Palmer Johnson are such well-built yachts with a classic feel and look, especially with the raised pilot house. I remember building and trimming the teak decks in Sarasota to ship to Wisconsin for one of our crews to install back in the 90's.
Thanks for sharing!
I don't think I would have noticed the age if the Upholstery had been updated.
I love classic yachts..they are so majestic. This one is so well kept.
Cool boat😎🌊
Now that is a nice boat there. It looks livable. In that you could stay aboard her and be comfortable for extended periods of time. Impressively maintained for a ship that old. You can tell that a lot of love has gone into this and its upkeep.
Thanks for watching
Such a lovely boat! I would change out some of the dated decor, but it was so well maintained! Thank you!
Fantastic job covering this amazing yacht. Great camera work Rico! A very enjoyable tour.😊
I like that one a lot we should have an extra guest cabin or two and I didn't realize you could take something that big on the Great Loop wow that's awesome
A magnificent boat, really well built and doesn't look anything like nearly 30 years old. I like it!
Oh and the cute little dresser in the double stateroom at the 19 minute mark would be Vicki’s editing space not located in the main soloon.
I will come by a say hello to yawl when I get to Marina Del Rey.
Now that is a lovely yacht and a Palmer Johnson to.
I love the intro music.
Looked really nice. Older style drawers and furnishings from the 80s, but well taken care of. I'd probably update some of the older systems in the engine room to make it look more modern, parts of it did look old and a little shabby down there. 38 years old you expect a little bit of clutter.
Fair enough
I really love these older yachts I would like to see more of these for sale that have been well cared for. Recent ones. That are larger in size like this one.
The teak needs a lot of work but I'd love to spend my retirement working on that and what ever this classic vessel needs.
This is such good value. $695k for an aluminium yacht of this size by a blue chip yard in fantastic shape.
this is the first boat I my impress with.... a great find ....good video
Can’t beat a classic.
Beautifully maintained. Thanks!
what a sensationally looked after yacht. Victoria licks to use unique in her descriptions but she is very very right with this one. love it.
love that you look for these older more affordable yachts to look at, well done guys.
🙏🏻👌🏻💙
Need those aviator sunglasses! 😎
what a grand old lady of the sea. well looked after inside and out.
Definitely the orange glasses.
What a beautiful yacht!!!
Very interesting layout with walkways from the bulwark going up to the fly bridge and a folding mast.. wow... so cool... Furuno, Simrad and Garmin systems.. I dont think you can get lost with this yacht..hahaha... (personally, luv the black with orange combo. awesome)
Center helm 🎯 I like the vessels with large enough deck for a band or the band - to play.
I am back..late as usual. no damage from the hurricane yesterday..but it was fun to say the least. Now on with the show !
so glad to hear you are ok Alan
I like the Palmer Johnsons good looking yacht both of them I wouldn't say no to either one. "Cheers!"
Beautiful classic yacht, I wonder what that would cost to operate. You guys always make me smile. Thanks
I absolutely love the classic styling of this boat and all that for the price?? Amazing.
Interesting , Thank You . i hope that the next owners care and enjoy her , for a long time
Very nice 84 footer. Thank you for showing. Love your show.
awww thank you so much
Orange of course! :) Nice yacht.
Many thanks!
you guys are my favorite reviews to watch.
Dang, looks like home to me...
I watched this thinking you showed this beautiful yacht just for me. I love this!!
😍🙌🏻💙
Always liked Palmer Johnson and their old Sturgeon Bay, WI facility where I presume this was constructed. Door County WI is a great vacation area in between Green Bay and Lake Michigan with lots of great marinas. What a classic looking and huge owner suite. All the woodwork makes it feel even older, like an older New England yacht, and it looks great. I presume the upkeep is high, but wow, that sure seems like a lot of value for the money.
Wow! Absolutely Beautiful!
Wow! The old intro! I immediately checked the date...😎
You like it? lol
@@NautiStyles As I binge-watched your videos, I got used to it. I understand, though, that sometimes a bit of revamping is needed.
@@petesheppard1709 working on the new intro:)
@@NautiStyles Your enthusiasm is quite the intro by itself! 😃
Classic Motor Yacht. Quite a Rare find in perfect condition. Beautifully maintained and appointed. Thank you for the tour.
What a wonderful old yacht. Great that is has been used heaps and so well looked after
