I grew up in Wisconsin and can remember when Palmer Johnsons were made in Sturgeon Bay. When some of these really extreme designs started coming out into the Bay it would make the news. There was a lot of pride in the amazing yachts there were being made in Wisconsin.

Rick, I grew up in Wisconsin too. Every summer my dad and I visited the PJ yard in Sturgeon Bay. We had a summer home in the area. I was more into sailboats. My uncle was friends with Pat Hagerty who owned PJ in its hay day, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s for aluminum sailboats. He was also a helmsman for Hagerty on his Bay Bea racing boats. So for me it’s so depressing to see it died.

Wow, maybe I am a bit bias being in Wisconsin, but I think this is the most awesome walk through you two have ever done. The features are incredible, and the sleek modern exterior is in contrast with the warm welcoming and comfortable interior. Walking into the living room and dining room and incredible bar with giant TV.. .let the decompression begin, I immediately feel like I am on vacation. Over 9,000 hp and 32 knots!!!! Be sure to wave at the other cruise ships and yachts as you blow by them. 3,200 NM range, wow. 11 crew to pamper 8-12 guests. This is luxury at the highest level. I am now going to watch this entire review again. Great job, I love this yacht.

It's hard to believe this yacht is twelve years old. The bow configuration creates a wonderful abundance of open deck space. I love the salon and the timeless decor throughout. I also like the separation of guest and crew areas, and I bet the crew does, too. Great tour of a great boat. It's fun to imagine this summer home going 32 knots! Merry Christmas and wishing you continued success in the new year.

The DB9 was started in Wis, then brought to England but with the labor problems at the time the vessel was finished in Florida hahaha. the vessel was beached on air pillows so to speak. Unfortunatly Tim Mohammed Shut down PJ in the states and now use the nords. DB9 is one only two 52m vessels built to date. If you like this vessel then you will love the Lady M a 64m sport yacht. Extra amenities that guest forgot for your yacht. Need rain head showers on your yacht. Rico will your helm be similar to this, maybe not quite as elaborate. Rico you need those dual rudder controls for sure. Tell her to go sun herself on the bow while you go over the man space. 😉. Need the cabin status wheel on your cabins for sure. This yacht seems to be in unbelievable shape. Polished Perfection! The interior headroom near that bar was ridiculous. The VIP mid-ship staterooms did not have the sparse Italian esthetic, required to achieve a 30+ knot top speed. When you are able to include the staff the tour quality/education is boosted another notch. And then there is the engine room. 8000HP 3,400 Nautical miles at 18 KNOTS? This yacht seems to check so many boxes that any negatives have to be researched for days to find them.
Once again, NautiStyles covers the best that (smart) money can buy.

Your attention to details, calling out countless small nuances was insightful and instrumental in my purchasing decision. My wife and I are looking forward to putting thousands of hours on the engines. We will take her all around the world from Monaco to Alaska, and everywhere in between. Thanks again, and continue making exceptional content... your videos are fantastic!

Palmer Johnson yachts are one of my favorites. DB9, though a sports yacht, ticks just about all the boxes and has plenty of room for owner and guests. If you can afford it, it's worth a look.

I mean, it is expensive, but 20 million for such a big yacht is not that expensive if you look at home prices nowadays, and it is mobile, but monthly expenses about 250,000 are killing it 😅

Dude the maintenance for this will be astronomical & everything you see on yachts is expensive. Everything that comes in contact with water needs to be replaced on a semi regular basis and that’s with constant cleaning. The $250k a month expenses are probably just the captain & crew wages.

beautiful boat, great tour! and the chef seems like such a awesome guy! really can see he takes pride in his kitchen and providing the bet experience for every one on board. i also really like that the crew gets to eat the same thing as the guests . and not giving them a loaf of bread and sandwich meat to eat lol. i am amazed at the massive amount of space on this boat with how sleek it is and also all the massive storage areas on deck for the jet skis, the pool the spas take up so much room i automatically assumed the interior was gonnna be small. i was extremely wrong lol

Might be nice to add mirrors to those cabin doors, to sort of amplify the light so the area is not so dark, but also like dressing mirrors to be sure you have everything buttoned up before you greet guests... Just to be sure you are "Looking GOOD!"
And when you are inside the room, the mirrors can make the room feel larger...if you also add mirrors to the inside of the doors

Thanks for yet another interesting presentation @NautiStyles ..!
This is certainly a great boat.
I liked especially the extra ceiling height and windows around the bar area... with double height windows. Impressive!
There is a slight problem, however. I think only one other commenter has pointed out that the colour of the aft hot tub is not flattering. The water appears stagnant, like it hasn't been maintained. The tub gives the water the colour of green algae, which is not the best shade for a pool. The same applies also to the flybridge hot tub.
Finally, I thought the dining table was a bit small for 8 people.
    Otherwise, fabulous boat!

2.) A comment, 2 compliments & a question: a) really appreciate all the exterior commentary & like both of you was blown away by the contrast on stepping into the interior. Those windows around both sides, the spaciousness: breathtaking! However, I feel like you missed a chance to explain one secret to that ‘bar-area’s allure’….? The port and starboard ‘ends’ of that bar are graced by double-height windows: a distinctive feature that separates & elevates that space even though it’s contiguous with the rest of that massive open space. b) You respect crew! I’m sure others have complimented you both on this before but it’s worth repeating. Massimo in particular gets to be respected as the former Head Chef on a cruise ship, because you 2chose to include him in this tour A+; but even the crew man busy in laundry has his activity mentioned: this is important Christmas time reminders of humility and humanity A++ and compliment 2: when you didn’t know what something was on the Bridge (unusual in itself!) Rico, you asked the Chief Engineer to come up & explain. Humility & honesty, bingo! And last but not least a ? If I missed it pardon me, but did you ever say what the max. guest no. is on this ‘charterable’ oceanic holiday palace? In the crew galley we heard 11 crew but was the 8-seat round dining table the answer, or not?

    • @colormedubious4747
      @colormedubious4747 Před rokem

We saw four single berths, two double berths, and it was mentioned that the owner's stateroom is used when the yacht is NOT chartered, so eight seems to be the most likely current answer. :) Of course, the yacht's next owner might decide to make the big stateroom available for charters, making the future answer ten.

Merry Christmas! I woke up this morning not thinking of Santa or gifts but of the way Rico liked the bar on this yacht and considered the idea for your yacht. I have to agree with him, sitting at a bar with friends has a great deal of appeal as a social area. Since I don’t know the particulars of your craft I can only say that something with a view seems to make sense to me. I know I’ve seen smaller yachts that have convertible side decks where are the window comes down, a bar area folds out and you face inward towards the Galley. There was another one with a rotating cockpit area. These creative ideas got me thinking.
What if you had some sort of convertible/transformer (like the toy!) in the cockpit facing aft? Maybe a bench seat that folds upwards to become the bar top or rotates from forward to aft and pop up chairs and bar? This way they could watch the scenery or keep an eye on others in the water while they sip cocktails.
There are so many creative people in the yacht industry, I’m sure you could come up with something! I think of what would appeal to me personally and that’s probably be where I spent a good portion of my time if I were on board. Just my two cents. Good luck and I can’t wait to see the next update on your build!❤❤❤

That’s true. Sometimes a company needs to move to where the clients and market is. It is also worth noting that they now imply almost 200 people at their new facility. It is of course not ideal for Wisconsin but overall I’d say it’s a win.
