Super helpful im having trouble with my shift linkage .. your being helpful didnt even know that
Love this thanks you!! I’ve got a 89 with a jet. Your video is about the only one and they are all on this motor! I will use this video many times. Thank you sir.
Very well organized video. I've looked at several videos on removing evinrude powerheads, and they don't compare. The difference is that you take the time to explain in general terms what must come off in series, clearly indicate where all the fasterners are and note any special problems that may arise. I wish everyone did this.
thank you very much, really appreciate this comment. it’s nice to see someone appreciating the time i put into the videos.
Hope you get more recognition for these videos. Absolute legend! Love from Australia

Great job I feel I can do it thanks
what is the oil gas ratio to use in 1992 sea ray 160 ltd/ the motor is a 1978 Evinrude 70 hp?
Thanks a bunch
50:1 fuel to oil mixture!
Really good video but that shift linkage was actually easier then you realized there is a pull pin on the opposite side you pull the pin and push the rod to the side and it comes right off
we’re you able to remove the lower unit with the shift lever attached to the shift rod still or after moving the cross linkage out did you then take the shift lever off?
question for my wiser boat guys. My grandpa has a boat and it has a Johnson VRO 70hp (MOD No. J70ELCD) Does anyone know what oil it takes? I heard some people state XD50 or XD100.
on this motor if you want to use oem oil it would be the xd50, the xd50 is the basic 50:1 ratio which this motor uses, the xd100 is 100:1 and is used on the newer etecs. you can get away with most 2 stroke oils but some people have strong opinions on whether or not to use oem oil
@@buschfishin awesome. Thx boss!
where did you buy the rebuilt kit and how much .. il have to rebuilt the one i just buy 100,90,80 compresion test i did
I purchased all parts from marineengine.com - all you have to do is enter your model number and purchase what you need. I bought pistons and the gasket set which came with all gaskets for the whole powerhead.
