    Great Vid! Question for you.. I have the same outboard and a friend of mine was adjusting the choke as it would start but not stay idle. The outboard flywheel and starter got stuck and now the wheel will get jammed and stop about half turn both in forward and in reverse. We were turning by hand. PB blaster was used and nothing. I’m in Florida Space Coast area. Asking before I tear it down. Any ideas?

      I believe what i’m getting from this is that the starter is engaging with the flywheel and getting stuck. What I would suggest is tapping the starter with a hammer while cranking it and see if that makes any difference. If it does then it will most likely continue to work for awhile but it’s starting to go. If not then most likely it needs a new starter. Some other tests you can do are testing continuity through the battery cable from starter to starter solenoid, through the starter solenoid and then to the battery. I have a very in depth description of how the starter solenoid works in my Johnson 35hp video if you’re curious. Let me know if I understood you correctly!

    did my tear down on this video went great got parts in and now gotta put back together. Did you ever do the reassemble video?

    • @buschfishin
      @buschfishin  Před 3 měsíci +1

      unforttunately I didn't get to make the assembly video of this - had to get it back to the customer. If you need any help or I may have the manual email ST.Marine@outlook.com!

    THE RUINED PISTON IS THE RESULT OF THE PROBLEM. WHAT CAUSED IT? GOOD CONTENT!!

    • @buschfishin
      @buschfishin  Před rokem +2

      i believe that the vro stopped pumping oil and that’s what caused the engine to run lean and overheat the top piston causing it to explode

      Unfortunately I was more concerned with putting this thing back together on time than recording so I apologize for that but the assembly of the 90hp I rebuilt in my latest video will be out soon!

    Why they always have problem with top cylinder only 0.30 was ok ? Bore survived?

    • @buschfishin
      @buschfishin  Před 6 měsíci +1

      .030 took everything out and the bore was okay. The fuel is fed out of the pump to the center carb and from there it T's off to the upper and lower carbs, most of the time its because the top carb gets less fuel because it's having to go against gravity and therefore makes the top cylinder run lean. Running lean is the death of these motors.

      @@buschfishin maybe worth feed carburators from top or install electric low pressure electric fuel pump?

    • @buschfishin
      @buschfishin  Před 6 měsíci +1

      The issues usually arise when the fuel pump or VRO starts to give out. VRO’s not pumping oil is a big reasoning for this but lack of fuel “pressure” will also cause it. As long as the fuel pump is in good working condition feeding them from the center is usually okay but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to have the main fuel feed go to the top and then gravity feed down. It could also have to do with the fuel pump pushing fuel up-hill to the top carb where it’s at the same height as the fuel pump to the center carb.

      should be anywhere from .003” to .006” to bore
