Crisis Series #42 with Bishop Fellay: Were the 1988 Consecrations Justified?

  • Today, we’re joined by His Excellency, Bishop Bernard Fellay, one of the four bishops consecrated by Archbishop Lefebvre in 1988. He, better than anyone, can help us understand what was happening during those pivotal days, and what was going through the mind of the Archbishop as he wrestled with this momentous decision. But besides having an interesting conversation about Church history with someone who was a part of it, we’re also going to ask His Excellency, how can the Society of Saint Pius X justify what the Archbishop did? On the surface, this was an act of disobedience against the Holy Father. According to the swift, severe response from the Vatican just days after, this was a schismatic act. We’ll welcome Bishop Fellay now to help us understand what happened:

Archbishop Lefebvre was a good and faithful servant of Christ. The scourging the SSPX has endured over the years for the Truth is what Catholicism looks like. 💒 I personally don't know where I would be if not for finding the SSPX. Praying for the church. 🌹

Don't let your feelings guide you, they must submit to faith and reason. The most reasonable thing to do under this crisis is to hold fast to tradition. And I believe the FSSPX still satisfies that mission.

Issues with Beatification and Canonization of Saints, including the Popes of post Vatican 2 council, and all the panorama concerning beatification and canonization of modern saints.

I often wonder how many other Bishops in the Church at the time of the Second Vatican Council agreed with the great Archbishop Lefebvre regarding the Second Vatican Council and the New Mass but were too afraid to say anything. . Besides Cardinals Alfredo Ottaviani and Antonio Bacci and Bishop Antonio de Castro Mayer, I'm sure there were a lot more. The way the Vatican handled Archbishop Lefebvre was such a disaster that continues to this day.

They had to do what was done. Or they would not exist. Other groups should do the same in light of traditionis custodes. There is a need for more traditional Bishops because I don't see this resolving this century. The saboteurs are deeply entrenched with the goal of excommunicating tradition and to a large extent they have succeeded.

The most important element in existence at that time is the preservation and protection of the deposit of faith as given to us by Jesus Christ. We (all of us “trads”) see an important event coming, with the possible death of Bishop Lefebvre which came to pass, the last bastion of that preservation SSPX would be in great peril. Remember, Jesus told all that He would never abandon His Church, but in line with that is the belief that God helps those who help themselves.

All those who doubt this perfectly legitimate Consecration of the 4 SSPX Bishops, need to check out WHY the Catholic CHURCH 💒 recognizes the Transubstantiation in the Anglican CHURCH⛪.
(This nitty gritty was explained to me by an exceptional Jesuit who commanded deep admiration and high respect from all who were fortunate to closely know him as I did).
By that Very standard, the 1988 Consecrations of the 4 SSPX Bishops clearly stands above any trace of "reservation"/"doubt".
Dear fellow Catholics, do Wake up. The 1884 Prophetic vision of Leo XIII is unfolding before our very eyes.
Pray for our pope who's in this unfortunate situation with Satan in overdrive to destroy HIS Holy CHURCH from within.

I think 1 Samuel 4:3-11 provides perspective on God's providence in cooperation with the virtue of fortitude. Archbishop Lefebvre sought God's will and ALSO exercised the virtue of fortitude. The Israelites tried to hide behind God with the Ark while using not one iota of fortitude and got BLASTED. That's what would have happened to the Church, too, if Archbishop Lefebvre hadn't had stepped up.
