[1.15 HARD]Sevastopol ONLY run, Pt.4: Sevastopol's Shining Ability; Rallying a Comeback!

  • V1.15/1.151 Run with Sevastopol Only.
    Rules:
    Only starting ships allowed are 1 Sevastopol, and a minimalist ship to carry 2x R3N missiles into the campaign.
    Any obtained ships are disposed of ASAP. Given that ships can only be obtained midgame while in cities, simply selling them is the usual path to disposal. As the parts would be added to the inventory of the city, any parts may be kept.
    Sevastopol may only be 'minimally' edited, IE: No Armour / Hull editing. Her armour and hull scheme MUST remain as standard, however given that the Sevastopol is canonically an incomplete ship, the readjusting of internal parts as well as adding / removal of modules / sensors / guns is allowed. Further rules in that regard: No mounting blocked strategic missiles.
    I Don't plan on any major edits to her engine or gun scheme, simply adjustment and addition to her 57mm gun battery and a single D30 addition to cope with weight. I may turn to engine spam for post-khiva.

    Those ships with the A-220 suddenly become scary in this sort of run. Normally they can't hit shit, but when you're in a giant flying battlebrick....

      Once you get APS they become incredibly trivial, but until then they're incredibly dangerous. Apparently they might have become even more powerful in 1.16

    i have been watching from ep1 and i am more happy with the fact i learned half the functions of the buttons on the screen AND got to enjoy seeing a good run

    You got me at the first half tbh but you’re right 😂 Sev shines brightest in darkest times. I got the itch back to playing from watching this! (I’ll probably get a modded version instead of abandoning this game outright once 1.16 goes full)

    Like the video fren. Don't worry too much about going too into detail with things. or taking your time to show or explain how small things work. It's hard to find actual useful information about playing Highfleet on CZcams.

      For the longest time I thought everyone had already scoured what content there was, tbh. I'll be leaning into making short guides on specific mechanics, mostly ones unchanging into 1.16 until we know how other things change

    Im amazed you can land that ship at all without ripping off the landing gears 100% of the time

      Comes with practice, if you're having issues keep in mind you have to "transfer" the weight from the engines to the landing gear gently, even when the tips of the claws are touching ground.

    Would it be possible that you make a guide on how to build efficient ships and what armaments work best/how to use them? I really love your content as you clearly know what you are doing and have to do and I would be indeed very thankfull if you could share your knowledge with us!

      I could, and originally planned to have done so by now, but the 1.16 update has kind of slapped the meta hard and killed a bit of my motivation (I think its a step back, mostly cause of the shit kicking it gave vanilla). I think I might push something out, though.

      While Lets Plays are a rather "Low Effort" form of content imo (For my standard, not saying others shouldn't), most of the reason I did this was to do with the fact it had been months since any of that sort of content dropped, so yeah don't worry, I plan to deliver HF content for the near future, as far as I see it at the ver least I'm basically cashing in my knowledge base if that makes sense. Being informative while pushing the norms is mostly my goal.

      If you would care for the 2¢ of some rando, I find it benefits me greatly to set limits on what I want a ship to be. It seems counterintuitive, but creativity often functions best when having to work within defined limits like solving a specific problem, fulfilling a specific role, meeting a certain price point, etc. I find this applies in my engineering work as well.
