Good video broo!
Man, what a video and what at view around the 14 minute mark! My wife and I have sat here just saying "wow" over and over again. Fantastic work, Chase. Can't wait for the next part!
Great work! We'd all be lucky to meet someone like you out on the trail, so willing to help out. Love the channel mate!
Thanks man! I do what I can. Apart from the trekking pole massage Karim did the hard work, it paid off!
@@ChaseMountains Do you have any vids explaining how to do a trekking pole massage? would be great to learn
@@TomerRockman I do but it's unlisted at the moment, it will be posted before the end of the year!
Family had the Pyrénées in their backyard, this is what made me love exploring. Good to see you help that dude on the trail, you’re the healer on the trail. Stay up 🙌🏻
Chase, I am blown away! This is so good!
I almost got a little emotional thinking back about hiking, up high in the mountains at a time where ther was no covid. Meeting lovely like minded people and enjoying nature.
Thank you very much for filming this man!
That was awesome helping out that guy with the knee problem. Grinding out the trail together...
I couldn't leave a bro just hanging on the mountain. Pretty cool story really, we ended up finishing the trail together. Got a video coming out in a few weeks that gets into that
Yeah... definitely will do that, thanks for sharing your inspiring journey. I already can feel myself there
I've never done this route, definitely in my bucket list for when things are better
Loving the video mate I’m sat on lunch on a miserable building site and your transporting me to these amazing places , lush music ,really well put together ,inspiring me to do some trekking
Beautifully edited. And just the perfect choice of music. Really gets the feeling across.
I have not seen much of the pyrenees yet, but I've been to the ordesa valley. Stopped at the waterfall though, it was too late to climb up to the plateau. The valley is breathtakingly beautiful, I wish to go back some day. Thanks for the reminder!
Beautiful! Thanks for taking us along!!
Your videos are incredible, as well as the scenery! What a fantastic production.
Loved hearing the background talk of the members in your group.
Thanks for sharing.
And another comment, to add to my previous one... the background music was spot on. What a great choice.
Thanks again.
Really enjoy the little ‘calling home’ updates. Gives a good insight to what you’re thinking and feeling! More of those please :D
Trip looks amazing. Learnt so much in just a few videos. Great effort and very inspirational, thank you
Well done mate. Great editing, really immersive. Thanks for taking us with you!
Absolutely STUNNING. And amazingly well shot. Thank you so much for the inspiration
Great video...The scenery looks amazing!
Truly love your video - really shows the hard slog, and also the joy of being overwhelmed by the beauty of nature. Love a good long hard walk.
Viendo esto en la tele se ve muy bien y mejor. Muy buen video!!! Keep hiking!!!👍
Damn after watching I just want to hike myself. You captured a beautiful scenery and added a lovely vibe.
So beautiful. You just inspired me to hike the Pyrenees myself. Thank you for such a beautiful video :)
Love these videos on the trail (and the others too!)
I would like to see you take an overview on the specific struggles you had (and other hikers) for this trail and how to minimize those. ... like a post-trail analysis (for this and other trails - the more the merrier! ahah). There is something about overcoming difficulties that just needs to be experienced to be able to give advice about. - Just an idea!
Keep up the great work! :D
Absolutely cracking!!
Beautiful Video, Chase.Looking forward to chapter 3!
Thx Chase, no narration necessary, beautiful. Looking at the packs some of these guys were carrying motivates me even more to go lightweight.
I couldn't be there with you to share the experience but if feels like I am when I watch this. Its a wonderful video Chase and the music enhanced my virtual trip, well done mate!
Your videos really respect and represent the beauty of nature very well! Really inspiring , thank you
Amazing scenery Chase, you're looking fit and healthy. Great to see you helping the guy with his knee, ITB friction/bursitis can be a painful condition and just as painful to stretch/treat. Kinesiology tape is a first aid kit must for me.
Love this style of editing man! Makes me miss hiking so much 😍
Looks amazing, what a great way to get some exercise and make new friends
You’re killin’ me man.
This is too good. 🤘
Great hike, wonderful views! Love the music!
Beautiful… thank you so much.
Awesome series so far!
Thanks for sharing Chase...
Awesome stuff mate, very inspiring! Your videos have helped me so much along the way on my Heysen Trail thru hike. I was using the wrong trekking pole technique for the first 200km!! You changed my world man! Cheers.
So glad to hear it my man! Hike on!
That would have made a great Time-Lapse setting up the tents at Refugio de Goriz.
Stunning part of the world!
I've never been to the Pyrénées (living at the exact opposite in France, in the mountains of Vosges), but I so much want to hike there, there's something mystical, attractive. Great part 2 man
Increíble! Que preciosidad de paisajes 👏👏
Amazing trip!
Thank´s for sharing! We´ll go there this summer 2021!!!
Beautiful!
Awsome film again Chase. ♥️
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! :) Chapter 3 out this week I hope!
Great vid once again
I'm planning to complete the GR11 next summer when I retire, need to work on my knees a touch so thanks for your helpful knee strengthening videos.
Now I really enjoyed that.
Una maravilla!!!
Love your films. You capture the mood so well. Music spot on. Absolutely stunning scenery. Someone else made a comment about a list trek trail synopsis of the actual trail. Degree of difficulty, breaking it up for those of us who enjoy the hiking but not so much the climbing. Lessons learned on the trail. How you researched. Good resources etc. thank you for sharing your beautiful journey. Looking forward to the next part. 🙏🏽
Yeah I answered a lot of these questions in my GR11 QandA video if you haven't seen that check it out!

Great video thanks for sharing
Wow! Some tough hiking, but the vistas!
awesome trail thanks for sharing
Hey Chase, great vid. Greetings from New Zealand
Great! Job! And best job walking running till more than 100 yrs old 🏃♂️🚶♂️🏃♂️
Moc krásné hory určitě náročný trek ale v takové krásné přírodě je to super 👍👍👍🏔🏔🏔🌞🌞🌞❤️
I don't know what you said but 👍🏔️🌄🏔️
Great bit of escapism!
Haha that's the idea. Virtual hike :)
These videos are great, you're a really good filmmaker! Look forward to the remaining chapters.
he copied Kraig Adams
@@jonnyfendi2003 yeah I know Kraig's work since before Chase but I don't think it's fair to say "copied".. otherwise 90% of youtube vloggers "copy" casey neistat.. they know each other and Chase has explicitely acknowledged Kraig, plus at the very least the idea of contextualising the moment through a "fake" message to his family/friends is original.. but fair, definitely Kraig was an ispiration (to Chase and to several other youtubers)
Could one mate. I was at Ordesa a few years back but end of April so too snowy to go too high. Lovely to see it again and what it's like when you climb up higher!
Yeah it would be sketchy in the snow that's for sure. And one of my favourite places in Spain now
Wonderful
Incredible footage. I didn't know this thru-hike existed until now. It's on the bucket list now... Do you have a track list for the ambient music?
Iconic landscape of Panticosa, Infiernos, basecamp in Ibon Azul superior (aka highest blue lake) great sandwich at Refugio Bachimania and very nice views of Ordesa Canion :) As a curiosity, I believe I slept in the Ibon Azul Superior a couple of days after you did. The wind destroyed out tent :( Did you have any problems with the wind?
No when we were there it was very calm. We had some windy nights, my tent was fine, Karim's tent was flattened hahah I spoke about this in my gear video
Great video Chase! Also love the channel as I get the best mix of great scenery, ambient music and stretching advice! I even stopped a video half way through to check out the 'Chase Mountains' t shirt! Ship to the United Kingdom?
ps anyone know the piece of ambient music that starts around 12:30?
What an awesome and inspirational video man! Can't wait for the next one to come out and to take on an adventure like this myself some day. Cheers mate
Glad you liked it! There is the first chapter if you haven't seen that yet!
@@ChaseMountains I've already watched it! Thanks for the heads up though
@@andrewazorian2786 well watch it AGAIN. Hahah jk.
@@ChaseMountains I may have to lol
Great movie from a great adventure! Where was this place with this bridge and a river?
sehr schön
I use my hiking poles all the time to roll out my legs at the end of the day, when hikers see me they think I'm crazy till I catch them later trying and loving it
Yeah it seems obvious once you start doing it hahhaa
Great work! Have you guys considered learning how to paraglide?
Yeah for sure. I've done tandem, loved it! We actually ran into a couple of paragliders up here. Super cool
epic
I really liked being able to hear the audio of the walking. Would have even liked if the music was a little lower or the natural sounds were a little louder. To bad you only had one pole for this section.
i want to do this :))
Whats with the audio quality?:)
what camera do you use?
Just a canon m50. Nothing serious. It's very light!
I haven't been camping in a while now and I've grown long hair in the process. What do you recommend to avoid it getting too greasy after a couple days? Or do I just embrace it?
Hahaha embrace it. But I'm no hair expert sadly
I've got chest-lenght hair myself. I manage to keep them completely fine for up to five or six days on a trail without a wash. The trick is to stop using stuff like shampoo or soap on a regular basis for your hair. These product degrease the skin, which reacts with an increase of grease-production. After about 2-4 weeks without degreasing hair products, the grease-production should have adapted to a level that allows you to wash your hair about every four or five days without them getting too nasty.
I wash my hair using rye flour. Just mix it up with a bit of lukewarm water till it's nice and sludgy and use it like you would regular shampoo. It cleanses surprisingly well and feels afterwards like having used conditioning. What I like absolutely best about it, is that you can take it with you on the trail and just wash yourself with it in any body of water. Can't do that with soap. Further plus: it's dead cheap and comes without any plastic packaging.
What month is best for this trek , for weather conditions ?
I started in late august. Starting in June is common but a little early as there will be a chance of snow on high passes. September 15th onwards is too late to start in my opinion. Outside of these times, impassable due to snow.
i have a question, is possible make a camp in pyrenees ? I thought it was not possible..
In most cases as long as you are above either 1800m you are allowed to camp. There are some exceptions, like Nuria for instance
How did you know how much water to carry every time you found a water source?
I guess you just know when you’re in a hot dry area you collect more. When you’re in the mountains streams are usually plentiful
@@ChaseMountains wow! Im feeling the luxury of having guthooks for the PCT to plan my water carries.
Good thing GR11 is not the dessert
can we hike with u? or these people r ur friends?
I met these guys on the trail, one day I'll run trips again! After covid settles down!
@@ChaseMountains awesome, i'll join :)
