I'm 72 in reasonable good shape and health. I'm a committed bachelor you might say. At my age why deal with the stress and drama of being married. I already worn that T-shirt a long time ago. I base out of Thailand but bounce back and forth to the Philippines but even that has slowed down for me. Over here your not a bachelor, they call you a butterfly. Many of these ladies are not looking for a serious relationship and I'm just fine with that. Some will will ask you, "You sleep alone" and I tell them most of the time. The common theme is "be happy" and enjoy the trip.
Just curious, if you live in Thailand what are you going to the Philippines for? Just a change of scenery kind of thing?
Another con about being single is using condoms all the time (i freaking hate using condoms) but i still wouldn't give up the single life (way more pros than cons being a single guy imo)
There is no need to frame a period of actively seeking female company without bedding any as a famine. The transformation I went through during my dating history has led me to uncouple my joy, love and focus from my mating success, and to honestly know myself as the center of my own valuable active life experience. This naturally makes me more attractive to the type of women with which I wish to spend time, and when I do select one, it is like never before, it sits within my chosen lifestyle. Women are very attracted to a leader. It makes them feel secure. Also don't worry about the one that got away. Though no where near the majority, there are still many quality girls out there.
I have never regretted breaking up, but I do regret wasting my time and money.
Freedom to travel and date around is great but most men eventually want to settle down with a wife, a home, and a family. Stability can be great for a man.
Do NOT let her move in. 1 year rule! She was paying her rent before you met her, after all.

My freedom and peace is worth more than anything to me. I may settle down later but my first priority when I get to the PH is to travel and find where I want to lay down some roots. I have been single for over 20 years so I'm use to taking care of myself. I'm not against meeting a good woman but it is not my first priority.

Dr. Reekay...STOP READING MY MIND...That is my approach when I come to the Philippines next year..Not doing the internet thing...If I meet a woman I will meet her in person..Wanna hear something funny.?..On a overnight flight to Ontario Ca. going to the hotel,,, The front desk receptionist was a filipina...from Manilla.I told her" I will marry someone that looks just you someday. I love the philippines.bla bla bla.She Replied..".If we were back in Manilla I would marry you back" long story short I said "look me up next year when I go and visit..She replied "OK..I will.I want to go home badly." I have a feeling someday I will get in trouble..
Truly again a great video, and the best single argument and indictment, for staying single and free and [re] sow your oats and explore, and wait for time or never to consider marriage. Seen all the pitfalls and misery AFTER men are married and their responsibilities. Being tethered sucks!

Unless its a no brainer, staying single is better. I have great plutonic female friends for companionship, and friends with benefits that come and go. The key is never mixing the 2, and never drink enough to where you consider doing so. Maybe ill meet the no brainer, but until then I'm good

there is a lot of awful pizza here. but i do like Yellow Cab. they also have Shakey's and S&R Pizza. but most pizza here has a sweet sauce, fake cheese, deli toppings and often is frozen/pre-made.
Pizza Hut is also around (at least it is in Manila where I am)

I'm old and only looking for a comfortable retirement destination ! -- Been free for decades and will die this way. -- A frugal thrifty lifestyle maybe 80% -- 90% of the time as it is now. Comfortable - but frugal. AC 24/7 if needed - no sweating all the time ( ! ) but in a thrifty studio - easy to clean and cheap to cool. - - - Women are more trouble than they are worth in my view !!! - - - Perhaps I'll hire a 'helper'' to cook some shop some & clean some - a day / week maybe. Keep it simple and free w/o being tied down. Have a few expat friends who look out for each other in times of need. Called "watchers" if extreme needs arise. --- These things need be established in advance and in preparation for such events - between expat friends. There are 'groups' well established and prepared which can be joined. --- Certainly works for me - even for my funeral.
I've had a commitment as a Civil Servant for 29 years. That ends August 30th. By mid-October I'll be Cebu City to decompress for Six Months or more. What happens after that is anyone's guess. Yes, I have Written Plans with Decision Trees... Subject to change!

I agree with what you said reekay, i would like to add that you men will save money being married to a Filipina assuming they pick a good woman. For examples if you married, you will be dating multiple women, going to bars/clubs a lot, may stop drinking and smoking because the woman will care for you and will not want you to do those things and no need to empress your woman she will want you to save money. I can already see all the money i'll be saving when i move to the philippines and marry my girlfriend.

If you're a bachelor and you have 10 ex girlfriends, you get sick and need someone to take care of you, can't you just message all 10 of them and one of them will take you up on your offer to take care of you for a while (statistical probability)? Or doesn't this work in Asia?
Yes if you have left on decent terms chances are more than one will be happy to help you out. Keep in mind though if they have a bf, she may choose not to because of it.

it's really up to whatever you negotiate with the owner/landlord. i've done leases for 6-months. i've met guys who did a 2-month lease at a small resort and got a discount on the daily rate.

if she's your filipina wife... and if the marriage has been good for at least 2 years... THEN think about buying a home in the PH. and count that money as a gift to her. you can't own the land the home sits on.
if you're thinking to buy a home for a girlfriend, the answer should always be, "No."

I'm 60 years old, not in too bad of shape. Have been going to Thialand in the last couple of years. My question is, I'm ready to retire, but as a retired social worker, I haven't made a lot of money. Is it unrealistic to think I could retire in the Philippines with $1400.00 a month ? Thanks for any feedback. 👍
$1400 in the PH is very do-able for a single man (including some dating) in most cities. (except makati, bgc, quezon, boracay). but any other island, even parts of Cebu city would not be an issue on $1400/month.
Finding a caregiver in the Philippines is easier than finding Filipino food.😂😂😂😂

all the images in the vids, i create with AI for illustrative purposes. i often try to pattern the AI model after the person discussed.
in the PH.. i'd say about 6% are a 7 thru a 10. with maybe 1% being a 10. but, they are very approachable.
using real women means getting model releases for each. not cost effective to be paying models for photo shots.
