I have several Wilesco engines and love them all - oh, for the days of dangerous toys (which actually taught us something !!!).
@@matrixreloaded667kkk cara
i got one from my grandpa😊
Wilesco still makes and sells these little steam engines 😊
Can you buy them cus i want one
Wait you have three? I only have none
Little dude on the crank needs a worker of the year award for that kind of energetic performance 😂
😅👍🏻
The Energiser Bunny got nothing on the sharpening stone cranker.
This took me back to my childhood. I had a Wilesco Steam Engine almost identical to the one you restored. You did a wonderful restoration on this and saved a little bit of toy history too. Thank you for sharing this.
I bet that was fun!
Thanks a lot John. Very touching to bring memories back 😌🙌
@@bengelman2600 I had one too and can confirm that it's fun.
Me too!!!! Did you had also all the toys to attach with the spring belts?!?
@@eliotech1928 No, I couldn't afford them but the hobby shop we got it from did have the accessories in stock. I wish I could remember what types they were.
Not just functional....but a work of art also! 💯 💯
Thank you very much !!! 🙏
That was wonderful!! I had one of these as a boy, in the late 50's. Never thought I would see one restored so meticulously . Thank you
Thank you !!! Glad to bring the memories back 😌🙌
Never been a restoration enthusiast but I must say the before and after of each part, and its entirety as well, is nothing but satisfying to watch. I couldn't stop watching, like a 4 yr old watching cartoons on a Sunday morning!!😂😂
Oh wow thank you so much. Very touching to read comments like yours 😌 Glad you enjoyed 🙌
вот что надо показывать по телевизору) прям отдых для глаз после рабочей недели)
Thank you so much 🙏 Glad you enjoyed 🙌
I have a Wilesco D10 that I have had since I was about 10 years old. I'm 64 now and it still runs great. I run it every few years to and keep it lubed and it good condition.
Wow glad to hear that you’re still enjoying it 🙌😌👍
That was brilliant. You made a 57 year old man grin little a little boy at the end.
Always touching to bring the memories back 🙌
Здравствуйте, Вы великий мастер, ваша работа как волшебство. Смотрел с удовольствием. Храни вас бог.
Thank you ! 😌🙌
Now at 54 years old, I have finally bought a steam machine. Thanks for the vid, that makes the working principle clearer.
Yeah !!! I hope you’ll enjoy your new toy :)
WOW, great work. If I tried to restore a steam engine. I would never know what materiasl to use to clean it. Yet having the stuff to do it with. And remembering how to put it back together. Totally out standing.😃❤👍
Thank you !! Now you know how to do it 😉😜
Великолепный объект восстановления, и работа потрясающая, спасибо!
Absolutely gorgeous!
100 years from now it will be rusting and in bad shape and someone will do restoration 2!
I hope so !!! 😅 thank you 🙏
I have high blood pressure, the video made my blood pressure drop.
It is unbelievable that you have mastered all the techniques of surface coating, the video made me happy, thank you very much, and best regards from Germany
Thank you very much ! Glad you enjoyed 😌🙌
the little man on the grinding wheel certainly can move
Over 50 years ago my mother bought me this steam engine and some toys to attach. My father screwed all to an wooden board. So much fun... until some sealing rings broke. :-/
Your restauration brought so many memorys back!
Thank you !! Always touching to bring the memories back 😌👍
Cool, got one for Cmas in early 60’s. Ended up in parts cause I needed the sheet metal to fabricate a new transmission shifter plate.
Oh that’s too bad !! Though it is something I could have done too 🙌😅👍
High quality toy/model just underwent an even higher quality restoration. Very nicely done.
Thank you very much 🙌
This is as close as you will get to watching a labour of love taking place in real time. What a fantastic restoration - you literally brought the steam engine back to life. An amazing job. Thank you for a great video.
Thank you so much ! 😌👍
Excellent restoration
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮 8:13 8:15
It’s amazing it’s like you bought it from the store (at the end)
I had the EXACT same model (down to the colours) when I was a kid in the 70s. Absolutely loved it. Came with a small red plastic funnel to fill the boiler. Guess they must have made them for quite a while.
Great restoration work, really beautiful! Thanks for bringing back those memories 👍💯
Thank you very much !! Always touching to bring the memories back 😌🙏
I'm pretty sure that this (or a very similar model) was still available in the 80's (with a dynamo). I remember seeing it in a mail-order catalogue.
In fact they are still made and available now.
I am always amazed how old, crusty things have their shiny, brand-new selves hiding just a few microns down inside. Beautiful restoration. What a pleasure to watch a real craftsman working with joy and infinite patience. Thank you!
Thank you very much. Glad to share it with you !
I had one of those in the 60's... Knowing my dad, he probably sold it for a profit.... it. was a gift.
Oh that’s too bad ! 😭
Amazing work 👍 Memories of a smaller Steam Engine my Father bought me back in the 50’s - when we didn’t live under constant “surveillance” for our own “safety” - we actually learned how to play and work safely from toys like this.
Thank you very much ! Always touching to bring the memories back 😌🙏 New video today of a live steam road roller 😉👍
My grandpa had this exact engine. It's amazing seeing it working. Thanks for restoring and sharing, he would have loved this.
Thank you !! 🙌 always touching to bring memories back 😞😌🙏
Very very nice! I wish I had one of these as a kid. Or 54 year old. Great work in restoration!
Thank you !! 😃🙌
You are absolutely PERFECT 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. It doesn't get any better than this 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you !! 😃🙌
Simply perfect! Thank you for sharing this with us!
Thank you 🙏
Sorry to hear that 😓 Just hope you are strong. Good luck with your channel 🙌
There are only a few people with rare talents. You are one of them. Very good job! 👍
Wow thank you so much 😌
Beautiful restoration.. your hard work and patience paid off !
Thank you 🙏
What an absolutely fantastic thing to save 😊 we really can't afford to lose these things, unlike modern toys these are things of wonder. Huge respect for your work, really enjoy watching 😊
Thank you so much 😌🙌
They still make these actually.
My dad was an actual steam boiler engineer for power plants and i remember giving him one of these on his birthday in the early 70s. Still makes me smile thinking of that. 😊
Glad to bring the memories back 😌🙌
I always enjoy the meticulous way you work. Beautiful result.
Amazing restoration, but I am even more amazed at the original toy. What attention to detail and workmanship! Very enjoyable watching.
Children now sure could use toys like this instead of the things that occupy their time these days.
Really great restoration job. I'm a big fan of powder coating!1 Wish I had the space for the oven and spray booth.
So beautiful.
You Sir have madman skills and God given talent.
My hats off to you.
You wanna sell this great madter piece or one like it for teaching purposes to the young so we don't loose this knowledge and wisdom.
God bless you and your family Brother
Thank you !! 😌🙏
toys and devices of years gone by, show the test of time.. you cant get things built like this anymore.. even forgotten and neglected ones come back by an artisans hand when they are discovered.. its great to see things like this brought back and saved from peoples attics/barns/basements... truly an art and very glad its shown. thank you.
Thank you !! 😌🙌
I have the exact same Wilesco steam engine. It was given to me for Christmas when I was about ten years old. I am now 70. Yes. It still runs.
When « toys » were built to last 👍 Glad to know you’re still enjoying it !
This was so dam awesome!!!! I had one of those in the 70's when I was young. The 70's had awesome toys. Mine was just the powerplant not the man though. You do such incredible restorations. Well done!!!!!
Thank you very much !!!
Thank you very much for this posting. You have no idea how close this phenomenal restoration is to my heart. My dad gave me one of these steam engines over 60 years ago. I still have it. It's one of my very most cherished things from my youth. I had four or five of the workers as well. I believe they were almost all stolen during a break-in. I was so happy to see that you could buy the gasket kits from the original manufacturer. I will have to order a set.
~Stay healthy, happy, and safe.~
Hey thank you very much ! Always touching to bring the memories back 😌 Too bad you don’t have the workers anymore. There are many on eBay ;) take care 🙌
Can still buy these. I just looked on Amazon.
@@ammerudgrendaWilesco is still producing this model. Not exactly the same tho 🙌
The right tools and supplies are everything - apart from personal skills. A lot of money and time must have been invested into this stuff to build up such a working bench.
Great video with nice close-up shots. Very well edited.
Thank you very much 😌👍
Well done sir. This restoration is museum ready!
😅👍 Thank you !!
@@maruiacancercdam I feel bad for you
Ooh that beings back memories, I have that exact model in perfect condition stored in a box in the attic and I love playing with it!
I hope you will enjoy it for a very long time ! 🙌
For the second time today I get to witness the quality of the way things were made in the past. Digging through the Attic getting rid of some old things, we found an old cap gun from the 1960s made by Paris the 5891 model. Still in all its original Glory with all of the springs and mechanisms still working flawlessly. I actually happen to have some ring caps here because I'm a muzzleloader Hunter and sometimes I make my own percussion caps which these can be used for by adding a little bit of alcohol wetted 3 fff powder. I test fired the gun which still snaps and gave me all of the joy of those nostalgic days although those days were before my time. For something this old to still have springs and mechanisms that works so smoothly and flawlessly; really speaks to the quality of craftsmanship even with toys back in the day. Today's era things are made to be thrown away. They are made to break. They are made for convenience and disposability. Really makes you miss the days of old.
It’s a very rare gun you found out there. Lot of replicas tho. But always a pleasure to use it still 😃👍
@@TheFabrik how would one distinguish between a replica and an original of that gun that I found. Maybe it's worth something
@@jerichojoe307 I don’t know much about that brand but I have never seen such one here in France. It remains a toy and I wouldn’t pay more than 150$ for an original in its case 😌
You are an true restoration artisan! You would be worth your weight in platinum in the event of an apocalyptic event! Nerding out aside...your video was very entertaining, and informative. Many thankyous for your efforts.
Thank you so much 🙏
I'm always amazed at the absolute insane design, the extend of engineering applied to a child's toy, at a time where manufacturing was certainly not as cheap as today...
Also the massive amount of work !
They are still made today...
Thank you very much !! When toys were instructives 😌
Back in the mid-seventies my friend's dad brought one of these exact examples out to show us, put it on the picnic table next to the garage and showed us how to operate it!! What a great guy!
Always touching to bring the memories back 😌🙏
@@TheFabrik,
True fer sure! Thanks for the impetus friend! These are really aren't just toys, though they are a blast for a kid to check out, but they are instructional tools. The idea of rotating elements and control arms, simple-bearings, heat and steam, etc., but they and they're like are also great instructional tools for life's basic fundamentals such as 'cause and effect' etc.. Very neat, yep!
Ea erinnert mich an meine Kindheit ich hatte diese Dampfmaschine.ivh hoffe halten nach dieser Arbeit die Dampfmaschine in Ehren. Hat richtig Spaß gemacht ihnen zu zuschauen 👍
Thank you ! Very touching to bring the memories back
Magnifique travail de restauration ! Félicitations
Un grand merci !
Круто!!! Идеальная работа!!!
Thank you 🙏
Wow this blows me away. I had one just like this when I was young. About 60+ years ago. At some point it was discarded. However I still have the engine.
Wow I hope you’ll try to start it again ! 😃👍
We use to have one. My Brother loved it. When he would start it up Id be thrilled to watch. Don't recall what happened to it. :(
It’s time to look for it ! 😉🙌
What I think is incredible is that I could walk in to my local hobby shop and buy a nearly identical steam engine. That sort of longevity of design is really cool.
One of the toys that brought my brother and me endless joy back in the day. Thanks for saving one!
I had that exact engine as a child. How happy I am to see it again!
Always touching to bring the memories back 😌👍
I have the exact engine now at 50. Can't wait to get it going again
SO glad you left the pitting on the brickwork, it gave it a very realistic texture.
Fist time I use that paint 🙌
I had that thing as a kid. It's awesome seeing it fully restorated.
Great job! Brings on great memories. I had one of those engines from 60 + years ago. Mine was almost identical. Thanks!
Thank you so much ! So touching to bring the memories back 😌🙏
My grandfather gave me one of these with an electric heater. The joys of the late 1970s. 😂
Wow great ! Always touching to bring the memories back😌🙌
I had one sixty-seven years ago in the UK that was very similar made by Marklin in Germany, but a little larger with a twin cylinder steam engine driving a generator. A lovely restoration which brings back memories of great fun with the steam engine and my big Mecanno set.
Glad to bring the memories back 😌🙌 If I can catch a Märklin some day I will buy it definitely 👍
Needing some restoration, but as with Fleishmann or Märklin items, the overall manufacturing quality speaks for itself.
Btw, @ 5:47 we didn't see you applying the masking tape before spraying the blue coat! (Same with the red one a little bit later)😅
And amazing results with powder coating!👍
And as usual, the end result is absolutely perfect, you're a real master. Kudos!🤗✔️
Why would we need to see him apply it ?
Thank you very much ! I didn’t film the masking tape you’re right. Quite boring to me but I could have shot a few seconds tho. I cannot show everything you know ;) Thanks again 😌🙌
So awesome ❤️
Hey Tysy thank you my friend👍 Hard work… so many parts 😤😅
Thank you for calling me your friend
Lala
@@TheFabrik I counted 80 - and every single one passed through your hands several times 👍👏!
This looked fake on parts tbh
Well it’s not actually 👍
Makes me proud to see the amazing things my people can do. Well done sir.
Thank you 🙌
I admire people who have so much patience to do such a thorough and perfect job. Congratulations.!. In my youth I had a Wilesco steam engine and I really enjoyed running it, but in a move it was lost. 😥
Oh that’s too bad !! Thanks a lot for watching and also commenting 😌🙌
The most beautiful restoration video I've ever seen. The shooting and lighting are very nice.
Wow thank you !!
How wonderful! It's great that you gave it an actual run at the end of the restoration... that's what these things were made for.
Meticulous describes it best…both your work and your videos. Thank you very much for making these for us.
Thank you ! 🙌
WOW!!! how neat was that! What a wonderful gift the lord has given you. It's wonderful to see such beautiful work and done with such patience. What a delight to watch. Thank you . May the lord bless and keep you.
Thank you very much 🙏 That wasn’t easy but I made it 😮💨 These machine were so well designed 😯👍
Thank you for another great video. As many of the other commenters I too had a Wilesco (all be it a smaller model) when I was a child and I remember many fond hours spent running it with my Dad. Thank you also for that memory. By the way I am also thrilled to have recently discovered that Wilesco is still going strong and that they have a CZcams channel as well.
Thank you so much ! Very touching to bring memories back 😌🙏
Simply fantastic without words 👍👍👍👍👍👍
It was amazing watching the beautifully made parts peak out from under the corrosion. The Germans know how to build great quality toys! Thanks so much for your video.
Thank you !! 🙌
I have this exact one, time to find it and show it to my kids.
Yeah !! 👍
Mind boggling how you keep track of everything and put it back together
J'adore ton travail et ta méticulosité devant la restauration de ces jouets anciens. Merci beaucoup pour ces moments de détente et ça donne aussi envie de s'y mettre !
Un grand merci !
When I was a kid, I had a stationary steam engine almost identical to yours. It’s made by Mamod. Best toy ever!
Amazing toys ! 🙌 I will try to catch a Mamod ;)
I have exactly the same engine, still in use! It was a christmas present from my parents, in 1982 when I was 12 years old. Now I’m almost 53… But at least the engine is still in good shape! 😊
Wow that’s great !! 🙌 I hope you’ll enjoy for a very long time !!
Ok! now I'm inspired, fantastic job. well done
Its amazing when you look at the models now that are production that nothing about their design and high quality has changed!
So true 😕
This is “MY MECHANICS “ level. Genius.
Oh wow thanks a lot for the compliment 🙌
I was given one of these when I was a tot back in the early seventies. It was a wonderful toy. It's been a pleasure to watch you restore it to its former glory. Thank you very much! :o)
18:59 this worker is doing his job very well
Lol isn’t it ?!! 😅👍
😂
I never had one of these as a kid, but I had friends who had them. The one you have is a bigger size, I saw once a "factory" with the big one, had a saw mill etc.
Good work on the restoration!
Thank you !! 🙌
WOW! You really made that little man work to sharpen your screwdriver.🤣🤣. Awesome job on the restoration!👍
Hey thank you so much !! 😃🙌
Thank you for making vids like this. I love your videos and TYSY tube. They just give me some form of relaxation that just nice. I love to see the process from junk to amazing things and how they work! Please never stop
Thank you !! I know Tysy !! I didn’t know our vids were so relaxing to watch… 😌🙌

I miss great toys ..your restorations take us back to that beautiful era
One of the best restorations I’ve seen. Congratulations on an excellent project!
What an awesome restoration project. Kudos 🙌
I read 'Live Stream Machine' and it threw my brain for a loop, imagining some 50's sports commentator thanking viewers for subs.
My brother got a steam engine similar to this on Christmas over 50 years ago but now our parents and him are gone but seeing your video brought back memories. Thank you!
Sorry to hear that 😔 Very touching to bring the memories back. Thank you so much 🙏
Wow what a fantastic job you done 👍
Super cool. Nice to see it working, but I'd never have run it. Too much work to risk getting it it rusty again 😊
