- After Natalie Elphicke apparently had a road to Damascus moment on Wednesday and defected to Labour, Anneliese Dodds had the pleasure of defending the move.

It's gonna get hard for Starmer to point an accusing finger at 'the people who ruined the country' when half of them are on his side of the aisle.
I wonder how many other Tory scumbags will jump ship to Labour. I find the whole spectacle depressing...and certainly doesn't reflect well on either 'big' party.
She has said she will not be standing at the next GE, this is just an F-you to Sunak.
HAHAHAHAH
Count Binface has more integrity than this lot.
He's the only one not wearing a mask.
@@DJWESG1ha ha! Good point! 😄
The ink on Starmers Leadership pledges wasn't even dry before he scrapped them.
@@gavinsmith9564 He's Dodgy Dave with a red tie
Count Binface is the politician with the most integrity I have heard of.
Remember when we were calling them "Tory lite?" They've gone full-fat
Full fat since 1990
I first read that as “full-rat”, which isn’t untrue either.
Corbyn and Abbott denied the whip, but this space cadet is worthy of a place in the Labour party? Mandelson has his grubby fingers all over this.
Tbf if it keeps Mandelson's fingers away from his mate Epstein's island then I wouldn't mind
Mandelson should be ignored.
At least it keep them off the kids
👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾
@@albertbrammer9263 You should be ignored.
Mandleson actually contributed towards putting a Labour government in power.
I bet you don't even bother to vote.
A by election should be called for any mp who switches parties
👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾
And a general election when the primo mister has to resign. To be fair and balanced.
Accepting Elphicke into the Labour party is, in my view, a really bad move.
I agree, except that she is not standing in the next GE so it's a symbolic move more than anything.
It certainly doesn't impress me Jim. I'm not a Labour voter, but quietly hope to see proper integrity when they become the Westminster government to try to address the s***show since 2010. This makes me really quite nervous.
She isnt that far from Streeting and a few other red Tories in their opinions?
Has she confirmed that?@@InnerCityGirl1
Labour years of frustration if not beating the Tories when they've been handed it on a silver plate. Kinda suggests they weren't actually trying to beat them, they wanted to join them.
"I have principles. If you don't like them, I have others" - Sir Kier
If you want 10 highly different political opinions ask 9 left wing voters.
When are we going to get it into our thick skulls that the only electable left wing party is the Labour party, and it holds a very large range of political ideologies. The leader went from mega-socialist Jeremy Corbyn to Centrist neu-labour Keir Starmer.
We spend far too much time infighting and splitting into easy to defeat little minority parties to ever deal with huge right-leaning monolithic voting blocks like the Tories.
The clearest message to the general public - the only difference between the two main parties is the colour of their tie.
@jamesarnold7253 Because if they did there's a chance that Labour would stop moving right.
You may as well ask why you don't just give someone the carrot that you're using to make them move the direction that you want. While it continues to work, you keep using it.
@jamesarnold7253 money.... they make more money. That is it, nothing deeper
Nye Bevan would be kicked out of this Labour, while they would welcome Farage, Tommy Robinson, and Mosley
Mosley actually started out with wellbeing politics - even joining the Labour party of the time - looking to improve the housing and health and livs of the soldiers who served under him? (allegedly) and only slid to the right because of exactly this type of behavior wherein the Blue and Red Tories had no interest in the good of the working man? And we are in danger of exactly all that happening again?
@@fullovstars9447 No allegedly, he was an exceptional officer.... No one could fault his military career, his political career, however........🤣😂
Lol 😂
@@fullovstars9447yep. This is the danger of centrist career politicians finger wagging and tut tutting at an electorate who can see the hypocrisy.
Sad, but true. 👍🏾
Throws Corbyn out but allows her in.
This is insanity. We want to give the far right less air time, less legitimacy, less credence. Their views are abhorrent. Allowing this mp into the party is just about the most nuts thing Starmer has done. Absolutely awful decision.
It’s completely in line with everything else Starmer has done
You do know that, Winston Churchill once defected to Labour too, you know. 😉
Boo hoo. All this far right nonsense again!! 😂
@@Discodave007licencedtothrill. no he didn’t, but he was in the liberal party for twenty years
@@Sean-xy4hk Yes he did… So get your facts right. Then when the Tories won the election, he went back. FACT. And the rest as they say is “History”. FACT.
Shocking that someone with her views and history would be welcome. What kind of party are labour anymore? Not someone I could vote for.
Kier Hardy must be spining in his grave
Clemett Attlee and Harold Wilson as well.
@@oliverleonard7730 And Keir Hardie! I don't know about this Kier Hardy chappie, though - never heard of him!
I'm starting to hate this version of labour much as i hate the tory criminals
I'm embarrassed for Anneliese Dodds here. It's so disappointing.
Over promoted box ticker
Willing to lie to electorate on camera. The tories do that all the time. That’s why she is ideal for labour.
She’s embarrassed herself… if she has shame.
None of these rats should have careers in office
Yet another shameless gaslighting embarrassment
Labour aren't even a Lesser Evil anymore.
I will no be voting Labour.
If this is what the Labour chair looks like we are in bigger trouble than I thought
Annelise Dodds. Thank me later
It's hilarious they think we're too stupid to realise what's going on here.
There's more space in Starmer's party for allies of sex offenders (Mandelson, Elphicke) than there is anyone who has any sense of justice.
2024 Corruption everywhere !
I guess Tory and Labour are indeed two cheeks of the same arse.
Absolutely
We Scots can testify to that.
go vote reform your not needed
@@owencrompton3713 I'm a life long Labour voter and I agree with stellacollector. By the way, it's 'you're'.
@@owencrompton3713good luck with the election
These are our supposed only choices folks. Lying tories or lying Labour. Where ERG members are more welcome than labour members calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Two cheeks of the same backside
Vote the tories out, and labour will just put them all back in... lol
Labour no longer exists under starmer this is something new
Not new at all,if you hadn't woken up by 2022 at least and realised what starmer truly stands for, British society is screwed....
Pathetic!! 😤
This will come back to bite Starmer, proves the point that he stands for nothing and has no principles and will do anything for power.
No it won't, this is a political astute move wether you agree with the politics or not, it will win him votes
Desperation is so unappealing.
0:35 "People can change their minds" - that is indeed a Labour value, especially if it comes to Sir Keir - he pretty much changes his mind every day until he reaches a Tory position.
She's so important for The Labour Party that I have decided they are no longer improtant for me
Tories in red ties has never been a more statement of truth.
Labour party, which Labour party is that then?
So this is what the Labour Party has been reduced to, time for Nigel farage to join.
Exactly what I said "in any time now, little nige will be joining the labour party" then it's like "shh don't give them ideas"
Reform,Tories labour all the same now. Lib Dems are looking different, green party is labours replacement.
Anneliese Dodds is some disappointment: not a scrap of integrity left in her. She'd say Mass now, as we say in Ireland, to retain her now shabby role in the Labour Party of Keir Starmer. I had the pleasure and the honour of hearing her contribution to a Labour Party conference fringe meeting on tax, organised by the union representing senior tax officials. She was on fire. Now look at her.
A leopard don't change their spots, Dodds..
Another unforced error from Keith.
If she's a good natural fit for the Labour party then I am not anymore...
So are they going to stop pretending theyre different parties or are they going to pretend we cant see it?
Morals are not a thing in this country anymore
I think we should congratulate the Conservative party because, either way, it's their manifesto winning the next election.
Proof Labour is right of center.
Not a moral/immoral issue…labour is simply amoral now
Thatcher for 2024 = Starmer
All that shows the chaotic circumstances in UK politics.
They really think we’re all thick
Your choice is between the Red or Blue Tories. Quicker you understand this, the quicker you can fight back.
Dodds does not come out of this debacle with any credit whatsoever!!
These people are all mates behind the curtains and put a show on in front of the cameras !
Yes a Sh*t show.
Both the same party !!!! Uni party vote them all out
Well, that's done it... I'm going green!
On reflection I get it, my enemies enemy is my friend and it will have given inaction man a bloody nose. But her vile rhetoric on immigration, LGBT culture wars, and being a Spaffer stooge surely means she has no place in the Labour Party. I give it a few weeks she’ll quietly leave to be an independent MP.
seemingly like the last defector she is standing down at the next election - all smoke and mirrors
You're assuming these people have views and principles. They want money, they are there for money and will say anything to get more money
Let labour do it so we can all vote independent and get the Uniparty out
Good, natural fit for the party. Does that mean that the Labour party is a red conservative party now?
"Ahhh! My party is about to get slammed in the election, what to do, what to do?"
She’ll be on the front bench before your votie heads stop spinning. 😂
Labour keep neglecting the left thinking they can rely on the centre then fine. All of us on the left should leave if we aren't wanted or needed.
Why are we sugar coating it: it's FAR-Right not hard right.
Labour= Tory Lite
the clean up that will be required when she starts doing the rounds 😂. I wonder if they'll let her on TV?
Dan Poulter might be the most egregious. An MP for the ENTIRETY of this disaster and he just swaps kits. Who are the fools in his constituency? Why don’t they read? Can they read?
Scooby Doo has more of a clue than the Labour Party. They are so lucky that the Tories are so terrible!
We know it's not because they sympathise with her politics. And we know she doesn't really sympathise with Labour's. It's about giving Sunak another slap, in the political playground, just to show off. But it really doesn't help those of us arguing that Labour aren't Tory light. And if you know that many on the Left will be outraged, wouldn't it occasionally be an idea to consider their views & sensitivities & to try not to allienate them further.
Labour is about 2 weeks away from making reform look like Jeremy Corbyn
I hear that Labour are redesigning their rosette and colour scheme.
Red is seen as being a bit toos showy, so they will now be a rich royal purple, with hints of indigo.
Natalie Elphicke agrees.
They know support of Gaza is gonna cost them dear.
So to compensate they reach out to Tories to secure a win!
Don’t expect anything from the labour when they are in!
Dodds another pompous arrogant mp
I think it is a smart move. Most people don't follow politics that closely and just see "tory MP joins labour." I most average people dont know thats hes a right wing brexiteer and standing down anyway.
True, also she will be advisor role for housing only iirc.
Still... Doesn't look good.
what gets people fired up to vote the tories out is seeing them all defecting to and welcomed by labour??
its quite simple , the labour party should have said what the rest of the population are saying
F@@K OFF TORY

How embarrassing. This isn't a Labour Party I can vote for.
People having a go at this are incapable of seeing the bigger picture here.
What a joke Labour is
Unbelievable! Next, Boris Johnson and Michael Gove?
Labour turning into the Tories. FFS
Listening to James O’Brien today calmly explaining the long game Starmer is playing.
Labour are cracking eggs on their own faces over this. Is there any logical benefit at all to taking a massive L over this?
Elphicke is an ERG Brexiteer, the lowest of the low even by Brexiteer standards. Starmer has lost his mind.
Hysterical nonsense.
Dodds earned her money today; like a street walker
Great move, the MP at the sharp end of the 'boats problem' decides that Labour have a plan to deal with it, and the Tories don't. She's standing down at the next election, it's symbolically a fantastic move.
The optics would have been so much better if Starmer had said 'I've been approached by Elphic but I turned her down' and Starmer must know this. Why did he accept her then? He's also in receipt of brown envelopes from the ERG?
At least they're showing what's happened to the European left...cuddling the right, and having no shame about it
‘She must have done, dafaq?
Am no votin AND Am complainin after the election
Andy Burnham's take on this pretty much sums up exactly what happened
gooodness, its almost as if theyre just as unprincipled as the other side of the aisle

Entryists! Entryists!
We're absolutely fucked.
Because it's only about appearances!
George Galloway rightly said, two cheeks of same backside
It's just like watching the Tories defend their crap... oh, wait!
The uni-party assemble. What kind of alternate reality are we living in right now? 😢
7:45 Yes, Labour is very concerned about children, as long as there are no more than two.
When an obviously bad decision is made in British politics we just make someone feel shit about it on the news and move on, bad decision intact.
This is golden.
Blair had his New Labour. Welcome to Starmer's New Tories.
Galloway is right two cheeks of the same arse
Galloway makes his money by cosying up to genocidal dictators.
The laimstream media laughed at George Galloway when he said the tories and labour were two cheeks of the same arse - looks like George is right again
labour and tory's realized they serve the same masters and are basically just re-adjusting the seating arrangement...
Why does Starmer always send out this poor Lady to deal with his dirty washing?
She ain’t poor-she’s useless

Yes, we need radical Islam
@evolassunglasses4673 yes because one person defines the whole party 🤔. Who are you voting for? WAIT, I KNOW! Reform 😂😂😂😂😂 the party getting no seats and relying on TV host who hasn't being able to become an mp 7 times to help them 😂😂
@@Mikeee00 i dont vote anymore,it dosent matter who gets in,they all Wef puppet,
Elphicke has already said she is standing down at the next GE and will not contest the Labour candidate. It is a pointless, nothing story , She has been allowed to cross the aisle purely for optics because it makes Sunak look even weaker.
Natalie Elphicke isn't going to stand in the next Election, her time sitting on the Labour benches is only a few months or even weeks if Sunak calls a summer GE; considering the exposure this has gotten the Labour Party and the fuss it has caused among the Tories wondering who else might cross the floor of the Commons is a win. If thirty more Tories, who will likely lose their seats anyway, join Labour on the Opposition Benches then Starmer can call for a vote of no confidence and force a general election?
