S1mple is the undisputed GOAT of CS:GO.
He’s the perfect player. He can rifle, he can AWP and he can dumpster teams with basically any weapon.
But what if we told you that the best Counter-Strike player in the entire world actually has some of the worst crosshair placement ever seen from a professional player.
How is it that s1mple is able to dominate the world of CS when he hasn’t even managed to master one of the game's most basic principles? Is crosshair placement really as important as everyone says it is?
Let's dive in.

When you’re that good on high sens it doesn’t matter where your crosshair is…
Yea and you see it with his flicks, it's probably part of why he's so good with an awp, he flicks for alot of his kills anyways so it's just natural for him
ez 720 flick
Keith chapstick
honestly even on low sense, when i used to play i found it easier to flick than simply click when someone's head was already on my crosshair idk why
But he dosnt have bad crosshair placement. The graphic at 5:25 proves this perfectly
s1mple literally has the 10th best crosshair placement in the pro scene if you look at the data. 7.38 degrees average movement to hit targets when they appear on his screen. better than dev1ce, zywoo, niko, etc.
he has crouch peek crosshair placement
who has first?

So disappointed in the score esport. If you actually watch s1mple play and have some knowledge of the game you can see that his crosshair placement is very on point. He always pre aim at head level and always seem to be aware of where the enemy might be. The only reason why people say otherwise is because he always relaxes and not care about crosshair placement whenever he thinks there is no enemy nearby. This is understandable as high sen players don’t have to exert as much just to move around while low sen players might as well put their crosshair at head level when moving around. This video is insanely misleading for new players if they think they can go high sen and flick around to compensate for bad crosshair placement. Even s1mple with his crazy flicks needs good crosshair placement so no way anyone else can go without it.
this
This video may have been valid a few years ago... Nowadays he has very good crosshair placement. The graph you shown at 5:25 that you clearly don't understand even proves this. He moves his crosshair the least before shooting a target on NaVi suggesting that he has the best crosshair placement on the team. Even the reddit and hltv posts you were showing were from 4/5 years ago. Seems like you tried to make some content out of an old dying stereotype and it's just caused a disappointing video. The Brax example was also a bit weird considering every pro holds a wide angle and has been for a long long time, even many matchmaking players do it, it's hardly some rare thing that Brax revolutionised.
i mean, AWPs do kill on the chest, and the others on the team move more the crosshair cuz of spray.
@@Malam_NightYoru s1mple has the lower delta on almost all types of rounds, except eco. Even when he doesn't have the awp, he still has arguably the best crosshair placement
In all honesty his crosshair placement is only kind of eh when he's playing pugs or fpl. Not crosshair placement like you put this corsshair here and the enemy comes to your crosshair but more like being able to stay on head level when doing 180's etc. Apparently tho if you watch demos on actual matches when he actually tries. His crosshair placement is really good even on pugs where he actually tries you can see that his aim is on point. The man doesn't need to have good crosshair placement to drop 40 kills on pugs
I'm guessing they watched launders's video and assumed everyone hails brax as a crosshair placement god. That's never been the case even when he was relevant lol.
Best cross-hair placement xantares imo
As a former professional player myself, I can actually confirm s1mple has one of if not the best crosshair placements from a pure objective angle...sadly thescore is full of random journalists that don't understand the game or never played it competitively.

High sens makes up for it, he doesn't need amazing crosshair placement because he can a 180 with a quick flick of his mouse
when people talk about "high sense" i always need to calm myself down. For a long time, as a kid (not speaking english natively) i thought that high sense and dpi is good, since i'll need to move very little. Turns out i was dead wrong. Anyways, here i am, with 5k dpi and some games don't support low enough sense, so now i have to drop dpi gradually trying to not kill my muscle memory....
Member kids.. high sense doesn't mean 5k dpi and 1/4 of the way in, ingame settings
@@TheHighborn ur dumb you can change sens and in 2 days ur aim will get better, ur "mucle memorey" doesnt matter and 5k dpi might actually feel better if u lower it but u do u.

I don't get it, please help me out. Unfortunately, there are no sources in the description (apart from the footage), and the only statistics shown in the video (5:25) suggests that s1mple has one of the best crosshair placement (~2.5°-4°). Why do people think that he has bad crosshair placement?
Watch him play

The first esport has arrived 😎😎😱😱😱
Wow you have a lot of subs. I wonder if you have a website to go along with your youtube channel.
Start cs mate or aim chess like chess boxing
When you’re the primary awper, most of the time you’re aiming at the body level. I notice when I go from awing to rifling my crosshair placement is not as good, as say, if I was only rifling
I wonder do people really watch his POV of playing or just those sick flicks. Cuz in my opinion his crosshair placement is not bad at all. It may seem bad because unlike players like Niko who preaims perfectly all the time, s1mple tends to preaim more cautiously when he senses there is going to be a fight. He might seem to be wandering around without aiming carefully, but he gets the kills since he does preaim when he knows the enemies are about to peek due to his insane game sense.
Aiming in csgo is never just about mechanical skills, but more importantly game knowledge, i.e. understanding of map angles and timings.
s1mple moves his corsshair 7.38 degrees per kill while Niko moves 8.90 degrees per kill, meaning s1mple has significantly better crosshair placement than Niko, which goes against the conclusion of his corsshair placement solely accounting only for gamesense. Generally speaking his crosshair placement is one of the best in the game (Placed Top 10 worldwide) and it's just that he is both more mobile and crouches alot, meaning it is both his gamensense and raw mechanical understanding of the game that gives him that godly placement.
As someone with high sense, i miss so many easy shots when my crosshair placement is good because my mouse moves a little when i click lol
Same!

The score escore: "here's a falling no scope moment"
Thank you for actually using cm/360 in this video. As someone who doesn't play CS, I was literally about to open a tab and do the conversion myself, so it was nice to get interrupted with the answer, lol.
When someone dominates with something that isnt ordinary, you dont call it bad.
What a moment to upload the video 🤣🤣🤣🤣
For a video about simples crosshair placement, surprisingly little was actually shown of his crosshair placement with a rifle... Which is actually the primary use for crosshair placement. The video just assumes it's his high sensitivity and flicks, but only shows awp flicks.
As for that graph, being a primary awper means you'll be aiming at the head less.
Usually when I hold an angle tight, my opponents wide peek and vice versa. I usually miss and have a disadvantage. When I don't have the opportunity to fix the mistake, I probably just go for a risky improvised play like flicking, noscoping or spamming.
They have less chance to accurately hit or kill but a much bigger chance to hold the enemy back until I readjust my position.
I use this when I get flashed as well and sometimes there is actually an unlucky bastard who walks right into my blindly shot bullets.
Not always but there is a chance for a risky play to pay off because it can even catch the enemy off guard.
Awp and enemy crouchers makes u crosshair placement like that .if u shoot in body and enemy crouch peeks u might miss it ,but aiming at legs when enemy crouches u will hs him.from legs to body is easier to flick.
As someone who lives near the UofS it’s very cool to see that the forgotten province is getting recognized
When a silver player is playing for 5 years and now he thinks he is good enough to call out s1mple
right ! i didn't see a single clip with a bad cross placement .. they're just out of content lol
When it comes to game sense, most experts recommend s1mple's way of doing things, but gameplay, they just don't recommend it. S1mple playstyle only works because his attitude, confidence and IQ allows him to play so risky.
exactly, he can only play how he plays because he literally knows the game better than he knows the back of his hand.
not to mention his extensive knowledge of his opponents too since he’s been playing against them for so long. in general you wouldn’t even really play normal online games in the same way you would a tournament because people just do whatever the fuck.
I mean I play like S1mple and that's why I don't get above dmg. I just wanna rush A and get a 3k in 2 seconds
@@jobooiii but you can't do that and s1mple doesn't do that... Being flashy doesn't mean being careless, if that were the case he wouldn't be as consistent. And playing like s1mple requires his gamesense, his aim and his attitude all at once, not just the last one... That's why you aren't getting above dmg.
@@petrospatrianakos9166 What I meant is I like playing stupidly agressive. I know it doesn't work on higher level but I still go for agressive plays to get three k's. Ofcourse I don't "play like S1mple". That would be impossible.

Wasnt the title originally "Why is Simple's Crosshair Placement So Bad"?
My guess is that by offsetting his crosshair slightly, he's making use of the fact that peripheral vision allows for faster reaction. Then he just has to execute one of his (much practiced) flicks to acquire his target.
whenever I hear people talking about EDPI and saying that above 1200 is really high I'm always so confused because my EDPI is always 1550 and it still feels slow
I also use high sens cause crosshair placement doesn't matter if your ping is above 70ms if someone peeks me I'm most certainly dead so I just rather jiggle peek everything and flick
Cheers to the Editor for the end clip kek
