What are the best bushcraft trousers?

- We often ask What are the best bushcraft trousers? To a lot of people outdoor gear can often be out of range when it comes to pricing and we often opt for cargo trousers rather than branded outdoor gear. Trousers that are designed for the outdoors can often be pricey and we question if they worth it. As winter approaches I was looking for water proof trousers, winter trousers. I could have chosen a base layer and waterproof layer to go with the normal cargo trousers but this means carrying more gear. Bushcraft takes a toll on our gear so I decided that I wanted a good outdoor all round trouser and came across the Decathlon hunting range by Solognac. They waterproof robust and warm and they look good too. So taking my experience and doing a review on them was a no brainier. I often turn to CZcams for recommendations and feel it’s only fair to offer the same advice I often come to look for. Not everything is perfect but these come close, I found one annoying issue but it’s something easily overcome.

🤦♂️📣📣🤷♂️ not sure why the sound is bad, unfortunately the only fix is the subtitles that I’ll be enabling, sorry about this and hope you can turn up the volume
Did notice it was a bit quiet, but if my knackered old ears can hear it (I blame it on Motorhead) I am sure everyone else can hear it just fine.
@@KuukkeliBushcraft had an issue when I uploaded it but not much I can do about it now. Most people seem to be ok when they turn the volume up. You didn’t miss much bud, my voice is not that sexy anyway 🤣
@@BeeOutdoors didn't miss anything mate, just had to listen a bit more carefully not a problem at all. Like I said my ears really aren't what they were and it wasn't a problem so certainly won't be for the vast majority of other people.
Solognac is a region in France known for hunting. Decathlon hunting range is called Solognac, the hiking range is Forclaz. None the less great kit for the price
I absolutely love solognac , i often visit decathlon to buy something solognac, i own several pairs of trousers, tops and jumpers and jackets lol..
nice vid mate
Solognac do some really great stuff, considering how well priced it is....
I bought their 50L rucksack as a backup, but quickly became my go to overnight pack and the more expensive one is the backup. I even have the 30L version is my day pack.... And of course, the external pouches can be moved back and forth, they're great....
Absolute legend. Helped me find the right trousers 👍🏼 great affordable price wicked video
Thank you for the feedback 💪
Wow beautiful trousers my friend and this shoes is absolutely great
Great review. 👍👍
New subscriber from sunny Scotland! I have a pair that are over 10 years old and still going strong. Can be a bit heavy but they are really robust and will take a beating! Cheers
Paul
Thanks bud, I’m already one of your subscribers 💪
Really cool how they zip open at the bottom to convert into Lionel Blairs (just in case they come back into fashion)😂. I have been wearing a pair of Solognac hunting trousers for the last 2 winters. Been on a couple of multi day husky safaris with them with no long Johns under them. Worn them in some pretty harsh weather. Never found better value for money than in Decathlon. Plenty of cheap outdoor clothing around but solognac and quechua gear lasts.
Nice review Alex, great to see you on here again. Snowy and cold up here. Hopefully be back in the UK soon to work on my sun tan.
🤣 yea fashion sometimes leaves a mark lol. Great to hear that they are as good as I think. Nice to hear from you, looking forward to meeting up 💪
Great video 👍 I’m looking to buy theses and I will be using them for wild camping/bushcraft plus a bit of hiking my legs a particularly hairy lol and worried that my legs will get sweaty, have you had any trouble on that side off things? And are theses fire resistant?
Not fire resistance but on the other hand the side vents provide enough ventilation
Great Review and impressive pair of trousers. I’ve previously done a reviews on their winter 500 trousers which are fab for this time of year out and about wildcamping. Have had my eye on these for a couple of years - got me thinking 🤔 about my next purchase 👍 thanks for posting. Great job 👍 just done a comparison video on my channel of Revolution Race vs Fjallraven you may enjoy watching. ATB Mark. Liked and subbed.ps that zip feature at the end of the leg is a winner for me.
thanks bud ill take a look at your channel, always nice to see new content
Good video and information. I'd enjoy a bit more if you worked on the lighting and audio. Thanks for the info, I own 1 pair of Fjallraven but now I'm interested in these Solognac's.
Pleasure, my videos and content are a working progress and this one was one of my early videos but I defiantly agree that I need to improve
I like the look of them. Great video mate. Regards JB.
Thanks buddy hope you well, all the best Al
@@BeeOutdoors Not bad mate, getting a little better each week thanks. 👍
Great review mate, I like the side vents, I have them on some walking trousers and they make a massive difference when you get hot. Loved the waterproof test.
Thanks for sharing
ATB Joe
Thanks for the comment bud 💪
Had a pair of these for a few years, there not bad for money hard wearing, however poor fly zip, the press studs rust after prolonged wet use Down side stay away from open fires, a good spark melts the fabric.
Thank you that’s some good info 💪
Nice trousers!
Thank you bud
I'm struggling to find these, can you please provide a link to these specific trousers please?
You in the U.K.?

@@BeeOutdoors you were lucky! medium large and Xtra Large all sold out!
@@philipleejones 😮😮 darn I knew it was going to be popular but not this popular soz 😢
Do you have to retreat these to keep them waterproof over time?
Not done mine in the year and half that I have them and they preform just as good as it was when I bought them
@@BeeOutdoors thank you
Pleasure
Never seen these trousers before thank.
Seems to be common problem with men’s trousers nowadays. Short zips and shallow pockets. Maybe there’s more eunuchs out there than we know about
Pleasure, I have had these for nearly two years and I got used to the zipper issue, however they have been awesome and still look like the day I got them. Really recommend them
Please sort the mic out bud, very difficult to hear in places.
Love those trousers though
Noted thank you
Hi would you be able to tell me the model number of these trousers because I can't seem to find them on the Decathlon website
Solognac R900
It’s under the hunting range
Hey young-one, l can't hear you you are quite, l like your gear
I’ll try to fix it sorry

Re: The small fly zipper.
Solognac, I believe are a French Company.
Small zipper = Small Tallywhacker?
🤣 small for me but the rest is awesome
Yes :-) We are a french company : hunting brand of Decathlon.
A very good brand f I may say so, I’ll be looking at getting the jacket next and hopefully doing a review on them. It’s nice to see a brand that is interested in what people that use their product say. Thank you for leaving a comment 💪
@@BeeOutdoors We try to comment and discuss as soon as possible ;-)
Credit to your brand. Thank you ❤️💪
