  • We, Matti and Stina, have tested the Taiga Forest Trousers 3.0 now for the whole winter season and they might be the best gore-tex pants we have ever worn. We seldom agree on what clothes we like but these outdoor pants from Taiga we completely agree.
    As Taiga writes themselves these are versatile and hard-wearing all-weather gore tex trousers for high-intensity activity in a range of outdoor environments. Waterproof and suitable for spring, autumn and winter activities. The special design of these trousers prevents condensation which we always had problems with in gore-tex clothes before.
    This is a review of all pros and cons of the Taiga Forest Pants.

    Great video Matti! Haven't written in a long while but not missed a movie. You guys are doing great, keep up the good job! Now I want a pair of taiga forest trousers haha! I love that you said just for CZcams about the coffee-pouring. That's also the kind of content I go here for ;)

    Great review. In my opinion Taiga makes supergreat stuff, with a LOT of thinking behind. I have been in both in their climate lab and their survival camp, where i borrowed the Forest jacket and trousers. I didn’t want to give them back...

    If you guys can use them for the whole winter season without problems they will last for many years for most people.

      Yes, that what we think too! So even if some think they are expensive to buy, they are not so expensive if you look into how many years you can use them. /Stina

    Nice review of the pants. I've used these myself, and one thing I noticed is that the Velcro on the suspenders easily comes loose from the attachment on the pants, allowing you to keep your jacket on when you need to take care of business.. It's a bit cumbersome when you're using a tool belt, though. But check it out, that feature may not be the best, but still handy. Great video.👍😀

    Do you know why the paint zippers are made to close by pulling down instead of pulling up? It's because if you're hunting or stalking an animal and you're crawling on your belly if the zipper opened by pulling up you might catch the zipper on a stick or something and the pocket would open unintentionally. By closing when pulling down the pocket won't open by accident when crawling on the belly.

  • @samhill3496
    @samhill3496 Před rokem

    Suspenders/braces. Interesting analysis. They seem fairly good but they have several deficiencies which you pointed out. They need to get the zipper direction lined out. I'm huge on safety. Most of the time I wear bibs. I carry essentials for life with me directly on my body. If I get separated from my machine whatever it may be at the time I have basic tools and survival gear. A phone is an absolute necessity to have within arms reach. There will be a time you need it and won't be able to fetch it. You can't wait around at 40 below. I interested in what you have to say about the jacket. You all take care. Pet the dogs for me.

    Thank you for the review on this pants, Good information. The argument of the zippers is interesting. It would be very difficult to apply this to your fly zipper that one needs to open going down and therefore you will create inconsistencies between zippers and in my case I much rather create muscle memory and always close the zippers in the same direction. One question (sorry i asked this in a previous video too) what brand of boots are you using?

    • @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA
      @JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA  Před rokem +1

      Thans and it's super interesting with our muscle memory. Sometimes, we do things because we are used to it. Not because it's good...
      My boots... They are fantastic and difficult to get. They cal 'Jörn kängan'. It's a Swedish local brand from the north. It's very much like Lundhags but a little bit better... 😀

      @@JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA thank you for the response. I do have a couple of Lundhags (Lundhags Skare II) but they are not very warm, I much rather use my Lacrosse or my mukluks ( have a pair of Steegers and i also made a few for me and my family). I will see if i can get a hold of the ones that you mentioned. Take care. Dario

      They are not expensive if you count for how long time they will last. Instead of buying several cheaper trousers that break after a while. These pants are really good quality, might be the best quality we have seen in years.

    👎 I have used Taiga as a professional and also in private life. Awsome gear but expensive. I was about to invest in Forest jacket and trousers but the attitude from Taiga people at the event swedish army 500years sucked realy bad. After that experience I will never consider Taiga again. I will also not recommend Taiga to anyone. Good gear but there are other great companies like Carinthia etc.

      @@JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA Maybe just a bad day. But it was calm with visitors and no stress when I visited the Taiga tent. I just felt that they where uninterested in me. I guess they only where interested in goverment contract people or people in suits. I make about 100.000euro each year and often wear suit but I didnt wear a suit this day and maybe that was my misstake. I have Taiga product like the bivvy and some clothes but no more Taiga for me. If they cant treat me with interest they dont get my money either. There are many good products so I rather buy from a company that are interested in me. Taiga products are not unique.
