    I can not thank you enough for recommending these pants to me. I use to only wear old navy or h&m brand pants and the crotch of the pants will always break on me, plus they never felt comfortable. I felt every step felt like a mission. Then I went to cargo pants felt amazing but they were just to baggy. But when I paid for these pants o my gurd I feel like I’m walking on a cloud. Buddy thank you thank you 🙏🏽. Plus I just got into hiking 💪🏾🙏🏽

    I love my Prana Zion pants! I wear them on every single hike, got them for super cheap on eBay as well, $30. They are water repellant, stylish, & great in heat or cold!

    Eddie Bauer guide pro pants are my favorite summer pants to wear outdoors. Breathable, plenty of pockets, DWR finish, and very stretchy. They retail for $80 but you can get them cheaper during certain times of the year. You should give them a try.

    • @persona-non-grata
      @persona-non-grata Před 3 lety +1

      This -- I grabbed a pair on Black Friday for 40 bucks, and another online for 60. I would recommend the *slim version* though. They are tapered and look much better on me than the regular cut guide pro. The fabric has plenty of stretch so that the tapered cut honestly does not affect mobility that much.

    Great review. Tapered at the bottom is a meter of personal preference. In my case, I need them to cover the shoes to wear at work. A taper adjustment for the outdoors is great. Some of us have thick legs for a medium built body. I would have loved if you would have include some pants model by Kuhl. Maybe next time. Thanks

    • @persona-non-grata
      @persona-non-grata Před 3 lety

      Kuhl are pants that I really want to try some day, especially the Radikl action or Silencr. Their price is a bit high though at $90. Right now I go with Eddie Bauer Guide Pro (Slim version, usually on sale for $60) -- and if I really want to go budget, I go Wrangler ATG Eco Synthetic for like $48. Maybe one day I'll snag a pair of Kuhl's to see how they fit.

    I'm having trouble finding the right size for me, i need 30 in waist and 32 in inseam. Found Nau Motil and wear for some years, I thought is the perfect pant till i bought for hiking fjallraven abisko lite which feels even better. The colour washes out very quickly. I have also some north66 for winter but 30 is tight and becomes uncomfortable after a while, and some 32 for summer bought when i didn't knew my size but are unusable, so i think i'm done with the north66 experiment. Patagonia has some nice ones as well but the wrong sizes.

    CZcams gold, right here.

    💥🥇🏆💥
    I like it. This is actually very helpful. When I find a good pair of trousers (I like the word ‘trou-ser’) which do all of the things I want them to do and maybe even fit properly, then I immediately go back to the store/website and buy as many duplicates as the wallet can spare. I wear these in rotation until all the favorites are in serious, entropic, motorcycle accident condition. Funny thing about buying in duplicates, when one pair fails the whole ship sinks. For example, my last pair of favorite jeans (I bought 3 pairs) and when the first pair started ripping open at the left knee, within a month the other two pairs started falling apart in the exact same spot. Multiple pants, same fate.
    Trousers. Pants. Shopping. Measuring. Fitting. Testing. “Nope not these, maybe these?” What a headache. Finding the right golden sauce, ultimate balance between comfort, fit, functionality and price is always such a challenge, especially in the pants (*trousers) department.
    Plugging these brands into eBay now, hold please...
    😎👍👍

    Nice basic review of a few options. I wish you would have talked more about the pockets. If you're focused on urban area, most likely you'll be riding busses, be in crowds and such. I'm looking for such a pant that has zippered pockets, for a bit of theft proofing. Seems to be two camps for this option, either no attention to it, or way over done. Hey Alex, you should check out the Eddie Bauer First Ascent pants. I'm a pants snob too. I bought two pair for $50 each and they are durable, comfortable, stretchy and water repellent with DWR. I personally like them because of there solid blue, black and brown colors which aren't shiny(hate shiny). And they have butt pockets and cool side pockets. You would have to taper them, big deal! Just thought I'd mention it. Keep up the videos. thanks.

      Eddie Bauer just came out with the Slim version of these! It's only in 3 colors, but they fit perfectly and are exactly what I wanted in a stretchy, tapered, hiking pant. There's also plenty of room/stretch in the waist for me to carry my Walther CCP in my IWB holster. They are my new favorite pant.

  • @woolengrappler
    @woolengrappler Před 3 lety

    I love my Lululemon ABC Pants. I can wear them at the office with a button down shirt and leather shoes, or wear them outside with a t-shirt and athletic shoes and they look great in both settings.
    They are super comfortable as well! I can do a full squat in them and no ball crushing!
    The downside to the ABC pants in my opinion is that there is a bit too much room in the seat which is odd since I have a muscular butt! I also wish the back was slightly higher cut for more coverage when bending over or squatting down. The fabric is also a bit too lightweight for hiking through dense brush. I would prefer something a bit thicker.

The waist always stretches out way beyond what they're supposed to be. Granted thru hikes are extreme examples, but you'd be better off with full nylon pants.

      British army DPM are awesome and cheap, smocks are also excellent and cheap for outdoors. Nylon rips in the bush, these are a blend of cotton (not great in cold weather conditions and polyester)

      Very good online retailer, but there others I the don't have your sizes. British army has gone to a Multicam pat term so their DPM gear is available. I buy two of everything, one is wet, one is dry, when I'm in the backcountry.

    I am more interested in the outdoor performance, how quick they dry, weight, durability and things like that, so this review is not for me. Fit is very individual anyway.

    You can surely borrow your girlfriends tights, but you can't review outdoor pants like this.

      @@andersjakobsen9906 maybe you just didn't understand what the guy in the video was talking about. Average hiker don't need to have pants 3 times wider than himself, nor do I need them to be reinforced or strenghtened in stressed areas. I don't live in an action movie. Therefore, I see no reason why reviewed pants should not be great for a hike and at the same time for work or restaurant. Polyester or polyamide with ripstop threatment is strong enough for everything I do in a woods.

      You're just jealous that YOU don't have a village seamstress to properly taper your hiking pants so they look better with the cuffs rolled up and paired with canvas sneakers. You have seamstress envy! 🤣

    • @cobbler88
      @cobbler88 Před 3 lety

      @@THCgecko25 An average hiker doesn't need to take his pants to the village seamstress either. I think the point being touched upon but not realized is that you can find the pants he REALLY wants in a regular pant. But he's kind of wrapping himself in the trappings of being an outdoors person, only to tame them and make them something they are not. I think it's an anti-poser sentiment.
