Perfect timing 😅 I’ve been trying for 3 days to build my first one and can’t seem to find any videos that actually help me with wires and cables
Linus tech tips has a good one if your looking for
@@finleyfynn i appreciate you! I’ve watched like 50 videos on the wiring and psu cables and I still just can’t figure it out 😂 my psu cable doesn’t have one that says cpu but I have all the wires it came with and it’s the same that’s pictured. I have 2 that are 4+4 pin to 8 pin on either side but they don’t fit into the cpu socket and the psu socket they’ll only go into one or the other it’s frustrating seeing all the videos and everyone has a clearly labeled cpu cable but I don’t
U valid🍷🗿
@@The_Chxmistcpu power can be called 12v sometimes and that 4+4 might be Gpu but don’t take my word😅
@@GrilledPixeIs appreciate you! I eventually figured it out I was messing with them for like a day and a half looking at all the pins and seeing that it’s like circle square square circle and looking at the movie and like they don’t match this don’t match etc etc and after not messing with it for a day I walked in grabbed the first cord out of the bag plugged it in and it worked 😂 I was probably just frustrated or finicky and didn’t think the cord would work and it didn’t say cpu so I was freaking out but after giving it some time I was able to figure it out
It’s really helpful that the build didn’t go perfectly and he had to make improvises to make it work, much more realistic and it also makes it easier for people who are worried about these kind of things
ive quite literally wanted to build my PC my entire life, and never have gotten the opportunity except for this friday. this is the most detailed and clear tutorial ive found so far, outdoing linus, especially on the wiring. this is 100% going to be my go-to when the parts arive. thank u so much
I'm in the same boat! My gpu and tower arrived yesterday! Getting one more watch in before I build it tomorrow
@@Drocinit247 best of luck!! tip: don't freak out while holding your cpu, do it as casually as possible. the fear is whats gonna break it.
im planning on building one like this too i hope it goes well
@@Printer980 I built mine last week and I am LOVING it. When you start just read the manuals and take your time. It's not a race! The most nerve racking part was the thermal paste for me and that's really just because of how many videos there are referring to to much or to little! You got this though!
@@Drocinit247 Thanks
Just built my first PC following your instructions. No errors or anything. Went straight into the BIOS when I tried to start it so I'm very happy right now!! Thanks so much for your video!
This is insanely helpful I’ve been trying to build a pc for a few months now and this video makes me actually not want to go to a store to have them build it for me! Thanks for the awesome advice
Just built my first PC as a mATX and your video helped immensely, especially with regard to the fan cabling. Thank you sir
This is so amazing and clear! Definitely will use this if I build a pc one day
Bro I haven’t even bought it yet but I’m shitting myself by the pure thought of me breaking something on accident
Fwiw, I just built my pc and it's really designed to be foolproof. i.e, cables can basically only ever go in one way since they have little clips on specific sides to lock them in one direction. Parts that feel the most like you're breaking something is just putting in the ram, pulling down the cpu retention lock, and slotting in the gpu. Even on those, you can put in quite a bit of force without breaking anything.
You actually did a good job explaining, I have been PC's since the late 80's. Not too many CZcamsrs explain as much as you do, congrats got a like.
gotta love these building pc videos. ngl there's so many pc building videos but its still satisfying to watch any everytime
You can do almost everything with just a number two Phillips screwdriver. Preferably one with a long stem.
If you only get one tool, that's the one to get.
Magnetize the tip. The hardware store near you should sell magnets specifically for that purpose.
Lovely and informative video, thank you very much for making this for people to be informed on how to make their own PCs. I'll be saving this video for when I finally manage to save up to make my own PC.
Thank you so much I really didn't know how to build and you are really reliable person
thank this was actually really helpful i bought all my pc parts and only did a bit of research and i was nervous but now i feel more confident that i can build it
how did you go?
@@Platinum199 i failed..😔
@@vvs2Faded oh damn what happened
@@Platinum199 i don’t tbh it turns on and i get no display so i gotta take it in to get fixed in a few days 😭😭
@@vvs2Faded hopefully it’s something as simple as you plugging the hdmi into the motherboard instead of the GPU. Have you checked that? I made the same mistake with my build was fuming until I realised my mistake
Incredible tutorial!! I have just setup my first pc flawlessly!!
Glad it helped! Happy gaming!
Guide is super understandable, cheers
Keep up the hard work Ben
I love your videos Ben u make really good content keep it up
Love this! Thank you!
Man i really appreciate your videos
This was an excellent video! I don't know if it was just me, but I would have loved it if you included the price for each of these parts and if there are certain parts where you can shop around for the best price and what parts should not be "skimped" on.
Amazon it dude
tysm for this guide!
Thank you for the video. Just impulsed bought a pc set up and I didn’t even know where to begin to put everything together. This has definitely taught me a lot !
Good luck with it dude! Hope you enjoy the build!
@@BenRowlands keep up the good work. !! Made my learning e
experience enjoyable!
you want your radiator on top rather than the side because the way you have it all air bubbles in the loop will end up in pump causing it not to work properly and die sooner rather than later. Gamer nexus have a good video on that
Great job man cool PC man!! Nice build man!!!
Thanks for the video❤
Video of the year i have been loking for a video like this for a year
super mind blowing marvious welldone my boy your are genius
This video os exactly what ive been looking for, my pc parts are arriving in the mail and the fact that this was posted so recentlt is literally the perfect timing
yoo did you build the pc with this vid? my parts are also arriving this week
@@John-wt2xq I did make my PC using this video and I've been playing games on it
@@Deadman21659 yess glad to hear!! can u tell me if you were scared before building and how you felt yk how everything was, i’m not like dead scared but i’m worried about doing something a little off and wasting my money by ruining a part or a connector

For someone that has built PCs professionally for over 20 years. Always always always, build it outside the case to make sure everything works.
Because once everything is in. Trying to remove and add parts in an effort to troubleshoot is a pain in the ass.
Ty !! Im about to build mine soon , im new to pc gaming . 😅
Boutta try this
Great video, watched cause I was board. The only thing I would recommend is some kind of support for the GPU because modern ones are so much heavier that the sag is breaking the PCB.
Crazy how much easier it is today than it was to build a pc than back in the late 90’s. Had to get your NIC a modem card a sound card CDROM drive floppy drive (always hooked up floppy cable backwards. Lol) and then you have to worry about all the different cards working along with each other. Today it’s just Mobo, Ram and your GPU done. Lol
Don't forget IDE Jumper Musical Chairs
Ya but the 3 inch long graphic cards were so easy to install ...😂😂
I already know how to build one but I watched the video anyway because it’s satisfying
Watching this while parts are on its way 😊
I can't understand how I did it back in the days before google n CZcams... Lol.
Just read the little pamphlets and go through the steps. Pretty easy.
It's not like you need to move jumpers even like those good ol days when I started
I'm doing my first case swap / upgrade, I've wanted to learn how to do this for a while now just to save money instead of buying prebuilt PCs. Idk why, but I'm friggin nervous. Case should be here in a couple days and I'm just gonna go for it.
I know how to build a pc, but i just watched this and I learned new things
this was a great instructional video, people always do the physical build but never explain how to update bios, then install windows, then update windows, then install drivers and then finally applications wanting to be used or played. or itll be a seperate video that like no one watches. you did leave out a lot of info part to part but you did get the main point and main explanation across. with the AIO you did mount it incorrect, if youre not mounting it as an exhaust on the top, yes you can indeed mount it on the front or side panel, but the tubes should be on the bottom. as the pump circulates new water the hoses over time degrade and will evaporate some water, it creates air bubbles, if the tubes are at the bottom the air bubbles sit at the top of the radiator and will never be circulated to the pump, with the tubes at the top the air will sit in the tubes and will be pulled into the pump and will ruin the pump. yes it does take awhile for this to happen, but an AIO should be fine for 5 ish years, or until you upgrade your cpu, which is 4-6 years for most people
this is my first time build my own pc ben think you 🙂
Early gang! Love my custom built PC :)
Yeah the cooling wouldn't be great it definetly works but warms air goes up which wouldn't make the airflow too nice anyway good video!
really need to start building my pc
It feels like over sized Lego
My parents just allowed me to build my own pc and this is the best vid I have found on youtube
at 46:59 that is what I did. Also installed windows outside the case first
This is the only thing I don’t have to game on at this point so I’ve saved and downloaded this video for when I finally have the money to buy more hardware lol
Like a console+ tv + how to record gameplay, editing & uploading stuff
Im more interested in the guitars on the wall.
Very good
quick tip: when following a well setup tutorial like this, follow it to the tee. its really easy to screw up your first time and either ruin the system or a cause for you to restart
Im on my first build. 1 question i have regaring the radiator is;
does it matter if i mount with the pipes at the top or the bottom of the case if im front mounting the radiator?
Cool video
You're like the Geordie IT version of Max Fosh!
Do I have to buy the cables separate or do the mother boards come with them
Great video! Definitely subbed!
step 1 : be rich
Work harder
Dont be twelve and have no money
tbh ima start savin' for a xbox series s which is like 300$ and is new gen you can find a pc for 300 that runs 2k 120 fps@@Dimo-exe
@@BlamYT As a Xbox Series S user, i have never found a game that actually plays on 2k 120fps, its probably some mobile game port shit
Btw, you can find some decent 200$-300$ build using optiplex or other pre built 50$-85$ used pc, it seems to be worth it
@@BlamYT you do you it's still gonna be bad
God I can only dream of stuff like this, been wanting to build a pc for years but I’ve never been able to afford it like at all
In the same boat, hoping 2024-25 is when I'll save up enough to make an attempt. We'll get there 🤞
Was nervous about building a PC for the first time by myself, but you walked me through it well, and it's currently installing Windows. Thank you so much!
Hi, where did you get your pc parts? I live in the United Kingdom and there isn’t Micro Center here
Good video
If I use Newegg’s custom pc builder is everything compatible with the pc components that you selected
Just for some information they sell a $14.99 screwdriver kit at micro center that will have all the bits you need
Only thing I didn’t like was the negative air flow you put thankfully the case has good airflow so imagine the pc was nice and cool/warm
How much would the overall cost with everything that you used? Thanks
Hi, I've bought an AIO for my pc and my motherboard doesn't have 2 CPU headers for it and I have to connect the pump to the CPU_Fan header and the fans from radiator to SYS_Fan header, is there anything that I can do without changing the motherboard?😢
Hey! I just sent you an email requesting to look at my proposed build. Loved the video and it was very helpful. Hope to talk soon!
I just got a 2400$ pc arriving cant wait to build it. Ive watched so many videos i can build it with my eyes closed 😂. And im still watching on other models and cases to see other peoples methods.
@Terminator- You're right. I was just happy to be able to build such a beast of a pc for the first time. Happy New Year.
@@GForceIntelThat’s awesome dude, how did the building process go? I’ll be doing the same soon
@jacobhoover4393 it was extremely easy. I did watch about 10 pc building videos just to not make mistakes. Updating the bios was the scariest part. (It's not required, btw). Make sure if you get a strong gpu that you get a powerful psu. Otherwise, you might not have enough pcie connectors.
@@GForceIntelI care friend. Am buying parts for a pc in the summer after saving up
Guy above cared enough to leave a comment
Whats the rgb stripes called you used ?
Were you able to run the XMP profile on all 4 sticks. I want to get 4 sticks of 6000 MHZ Dominator Platinum but if it won't run at 6000 MHZ all four sticks then I'm not going to go AMD.
what about the hot air ? how it will go out while you dont have fan for it ?
you cant take the cpu backplate off on a AM5 motherboard as its holding down the cpu retention mechanism as well
I have an I7 10700k. It was a prebuilt PC. The GPU was overheating. 3080 GPU. An Asus Prime z7409-p motherboard. I was am still am overheating to all heck but only the CPU now. I replaced the Rosewell fans with Corsaire sickleflow 120 3in1. The back fan with a Noctua NF-P12. I bought this Noctua NH-U9S because my ThermalTake AI0 apparently evaporated all the water. I am absolutely terrified it won't cool down my CPU and if it doesn't I am at a loss at what to do next. I didnt know any part of a PC internal until like 3 weeks ago.
Fishtank cases are becoming the standard now.
I started building a pc in may I’ve paused because parts are expensive and I’ve bought other things idk
Just finished my pc and this helped a lot tho i am still troubleshooting the installation process of windows 11
What’s the issue? I’d love to help if possible
Oh um it was the motherboard
Correct me if I’m wrong, but if the exhaust fans are on the radiator, would that not mean that the cpu isn’t getting cooled as much since hot air is going through the radiator instead of cool air? I thought the fans on the radiator cool it down by sucking/pushing cool air through.
I was thinking the same thing.
The fans bit confused me
I'm building my future PC that can handle gaming at 1140p at up to 170hz, but also do some editing and multitasking. Right now, I'm looking at the CPU: Intel i7 13700kf -- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7900xt. Any thoughts are appreciated!
should i buy theese exact components for my pc like is this 900 dolalr pc good???
Building it is intimidating, as a mechanic I figure if I can build a car I can build my pc, but man I'm scared lol it's the abbreviations on the motherboard. Still. 2 weeks away from the last couple parts and it either works or I'm taking it to the nerds😂
It took me around 7 hours, fired right up. One of the best, and actually easy project I've ever done.
Does it matter where you put the stuff at? Or does the things like graphics card and other things have to be in a certain place and does it just have to be connected to the correct stuff then place it wherever you want or what??
I strongly suggest you watch the video again. Parts go in specific places for a reason. The order doesn't always matter, but the placement does. You can't put a CPU in a DIMM (memory) slot for instance.
Good video providing some knowledge but also upload a video of how to build a gaming setup for beginners & what necessary equipments are required
How much is it when u bought everything?
I've got a montech AIR 903 case with pre installed fans. My buddy and i built the PC with a gigabyte micro board and neither of us can figure out why the intake and exhaust fans wont turn on. Are they CPU temp activated? I'd appreciate the help.
im still in the buying phase, the goal GPU 4070 for a mini ATX mobo built (if i cant find one will get a bigger case) im having struggles finding one as the wording is all confusing. because i 1 wanna get a CPU that wont bottle neck (any list of CPU for a 4070 for gaming 1080 would be appericated) but i also dont know what MOBO to use (terms of no idea what b550m means but see that as a listing
i really wanna build my own pc but im very intimidated with this step as its an investment any help i would appericate
Don't move the camera away from what you're doing when plugging in cables. Those are the best shots my G
What case did you use?
Idk if you are or not as I just came across this channel, but, when you said "awesome" i heard the Welsh Accent, are you Welsh?
Love from bangladesh Ben
Can i use with the cnps9x performa argb zalman cooler with the i7-13700kf cpu?
intake fans on the top is.... interesting
WHERE DID YOU BUY THE PC CASE??
Watching this so I can learn to build my first pc when I have money
Can you do this with a $250 build please for budget people
