- I built my first ever gaming PC! :)
This whole ordeal was very frustrating at times, but it was also extremely satisfying and rewarding to complete, as a first-time PC builder. This system is completely spec'd out with parts that are way too overpowered for me, from an ASUS TUF Gaming NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 V2 OC Edition, to an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X, to 2TB of Samsung 980 Pro SSD, and MORE.
After a year of radio silence, I'm finally back on CZcams! I can't wait to use this insanely powerful computer to start producing more content for you guys. Subscribe and stay tuned!

Watching you build your first gaming PC was really fascinating. It's impressive how you managed to do it with no prior experience, and the end result was definitely worth the effort. As a gamer myself, I know how important it is to have a high-end gaming rig that can handle the latest games and provide a smooth and immersive experience.
I appreciate how you took the time to explain each step of the process in detail, from choosing the right components to assembling everything together. It's great to see how accessible building a PC can be, even for someone who's never done it before! :))

Immaculate build my dude! Just a few pointers for you:
1) there's a shroud to hide your motherboard 24 pin cable. Use it! It's the metal cutout directly right next to your motherboard.
2) you forgot the peel on the IO shield!
Lastly, personally I would use two individual 8 pin pcie cables to power my gpu, not in parallel. (Just personal preference tho)
Thank you!
- I did try to hide the 24-pin cable behind that shroud you mentioned, but there wasn't a lot of slack on the cable so I was scared it would bend the pins in the 24-pin connector slot over time. I feel like it would be a lot better with some custom cables, maybe something for the future!
- I did forget! I'm still really new to video production and sometimes I forget to record some important bits 😅 But I did peel it after the recording :)
- Thanks for the tip! Maybe' I'll have to go in and change that 👍🙏
@@HenryHaoVo Be sure to use two seperate PCI-E cables from the PSU into the 3080, I have one and it pulls 320W and the max output on the single daisy chained cable is only 300W. Most GPU manuals will also tell you to use two seperate cables, my 3080 FE did.
@@HenryHaoVo Just like Eric Smith mentioned, each cable is only rated x amount of watts, so for high powered components you should 100% use two seperate cables that are each plugged into your PC's power supply to ensure the limit isn't exceeded. Otherwise, loved the vid.

You should be running two separate power cables from your PSU to your graphics card instead of using the pigtail to make sure you are getting the proper amount of power!
Can you use the pigtail then another 8 pin?
yes and no, it's cleaner power, however with an 850w psu on a 3080 there won't be enough to wattage to saturate the cable, either way good suggestion
@@xela79 yes you can
Yes! This Graphics Card can suck a lot of Watts. in His case all needs to come from 1 cable. If you use 2 seperate ones you can limit the stress on the cable. usually 1 with pigtail should not be a problem. but if you are able to switch to 2 seperate ones on a modular psu, you should.
@@Probablekozz really I thought 850w would be plenty

Nice build! I'd recommend for you to use two separate PCI-E power cables though, daisy chaining is okay but it's more optimal to use two separate cables for your graphics card, especially those high power ones like the 3080.
Why do power supply companies even offer daisy chain cable like that then? all I ever see are people not recommending to use them
@@OleNesie Probably for costs. Daisy-chaining isn't optimal because all the electricity is going through that single cable instead of two separate ones.
@@crusherfire1 Daisy chain cables are perfectly fine unless you use a no name chinese PSU. My 4090 is fed by 2x2 + adapter on a Seasonic platinum 1200W and it runs great.

Great build and you even did the ram placement correct. The only thing i can add is AMD might be sketchy for a first time builder because of the problems you might get and have to fix yourself, the other thing is the AIO, where people often forget about noise levels, and corsair is one of the louder coolers, but that might be a preference.

@Aaron T on PCs if it's set to 3600 in task manager, then you are set.

@@ThonThachJr That depends on how competent the company is. But as a general note, Probably yes.
Congratulations,
I did the same thing twice in the last 4 years, its so fun and easy but expensive, lol .Corsair is very good stuff. And yes at some stage I can see you taking the thermal paste off and doing a smaller amount. Two things I have had happened on my game rig.1 The graphics card started to throttle and get hot after about a year so I looked at you tube and undid the heat sink and redid the thermal paste as the video showed and and it fixed it no worries. It must dry out after a while., The second thing was my 35 inch monitor would give me no signal response some times. So once again YT is my friend and it showed how to take out your ram and using a school rubber on the connections. The gold bits. That also worked. Wish you luck. Well done on the build.

I have been making PC's for 6 years and your build is very good for no experience, Some mistakes were made but nonetheless pretty good
use seperate pcie cables for ur gpu power to make sure its getting full power, since a one cable even when its using a splitter can only provide so much through it
actually it will provide the full power the GPU wants and that is a problem because the cable its self is not rated for the amount of power the GPU will pull making it vary hot and possibly melt the rubber covering the wires shorting them out causing a fire
@@rayzimmermin No that wouldnt happen. Hes using a legitimate PSU, which means it'll stop that from happening in the first place.

Hey Henry I hope you are feeling better. I just wanted to let you know your work is an inspiration for myself as a youtuber, and i'll be posting a copy/inspiration build pc video based of yours. Thanks for your inspiration!
I'm gonna have to try this build. This looked nice
I used the same case when I built mine back in spring of 2021. It's a monster and so beautiful. I put a 5800X and a 3070 (now a 3080 Ti) though. Will be upgrading to the 5800X3D though as it has a great performance boost for the games I play.
No No No a 5800x 3d is very good for games provided you get a very high end grafics card. I assure you that the performance difference will not be noticeable. In your position I would wait for 40 series to become available and get a 4070 or 4080. That will give much more performance than just upgrading your processor. I think a normal 5800x 3d will not be needed for a 4070 or evan a 4080 in the future for the grafics cards are quite far behind the CPUs right now, at least for gaming. Video editing is a different story. You don't get a 5800x to get more game performance over a 5600x you get a 5800x to prepare for a new grafics card. I hope this helps you to change your mind. If it doesn't than just remember this when you get 130 fps instead of 120 frames on fortnite 1440p on ultra settings. What you got now is good.

I work in IT so I don't even think about it anymore but god damn I couldn't get my first ever PC to start for days just to figure out that I hadn't pushed the ram in hard enough

Man this helps a lot.
I built my first PC during the great GPU drought of 2021. I had an issue the moment I turned on my PC for the first time.
The PC refused to boot while giving me an error code (I think it was code: 00). So I thought I had a faulty motherboard, but after getting it replaced with a new one it still didn't work.
After much deliberation, the culprit was the CPU which I still couldn't believe. The brand new Intel 10th processor was defective out-of-the-box, even though the failure rate is like 0.3% or smth.
Wow
Bro disappeared again
Nice for beginners..thanks it will help😊
you said you were confused but you actually did a great job for your first build imho. a tip for future reference is when applying your own thermal paste you don't need to use the thermal paste spreader, squishing down the blob should get it to spread out just fine but you seemed to do everything correct.
may be worth researching how to use the bios to make the most of the RAM speed seen as you have 3600 speed, by default (i believe it's called XMP or something like that) it runs at a much slower speed maybe even around the 2000 mark
DOCP for AMD
Yeah mine runs at 2666mhz as standard but you have to apply the premade camp profile to clock the ram up to 3600mhz
It's a risky procedure though, mine PC kept crashing almost each week with a blue screen because i changed my RAM speeds to 3200 mhz
@@hughjaenus2235 if the ram is rated for that speed it shouldn't be an issue at all
