One thing I notice about Pete's Mom that I need to learn in my own life, is that she listens very well, takes a breath, then answers. Sometimes I talk too quickly (or too much) when someone asks something. She is great!

OMG When you bought your Mother the DVC Dooney I wanted to cry. That completely touched me. I'm a Dooney girl - I know. All I could think of was "What a good son you are !!" Then she was wearing it on the boat I said "Awwww look she really loves it !!" She would not be wearing it right away if she didn't. This just warmed my heart. You need to have Mom on more often. I Just Love Her !!

It warms my heart to see how much you care for your mom! I loss my mom 14 years ago and miss her every day! My sister and I did everything with my mom. We took her to WDW and always had a blast. I will cherish those memories forever. Congratulations on your DVC membership!

Pete, I love your mom, and I loved how you fussed over her. I lost my mom almost a year ago and I cried happy/sad tears over watching the two of you together. So emotional. Please have her in more videos. She is a complete delight.
This is by far my favorite resort on property. Walking in the front doors and looking up at the beautiful woodwork gets me everytime❤ My family stays here every year. Since we are a family of 5 we do Boulder Ridge also.

Great video! I appreciate the honest reviews re: whether or not the rooms are clean. In terms of wear in the rooms, I understand that accidents happen, but I have found that there are some folks who don't respect the property as much as they could or might if it were in their own home. Even though technically, there should be some pride of ownership with DVC, unfortunately, it seems like there are some that don't worry about making messes or destroying property because they figure it's not their problem. I know Disney makes a bazillion dollars and could make repairs, but I wonder how much they can control for that. On a lighter note: oh my goodness how adorable Pete's mother is!! I want to come hang out with her. She's the cutest thing ever and you can clearly see Pete respects and adores her. It makes my heart happy!

That 'air hole' (love that) is actually an overflow pipe. Your mum or mom is amazing! you know when you see someone and you just know in an instant they're a lovely person.
We've been DVC members for like 20 years and have been to Disney all my life and in all that time the rooms have never been anything but spotlessly clean. 👏🏻 for housekeeping.

We love Wilderness Lodge! We stayed in the Boulder Ridge section when it was still The Villas at Wilderness Lodge. We were fortunate enough to stay in a 2-BR at Copper Creek in December 2017 and fell in love with that property!

This was so fun to watch! Pete, you're like a kid in a candy store with the DVC merch. I was too when we first joined. It's really something special. I love it! And I was so happy when I saw that your mom got that purse. I have the same one and I treasure it. I hope she likes it. Can't wait to see more of these videos!

For a normal hotel you could say hes being picky, but for the price you pay at any Disney hotel you expect nothing less than excellent. A small stain on a couch, a chip on the table I could live with, BUT that popcorn is inexcusable. For as much as you pay at least check all the cabinets.
I agree! I would be grossed out to find opened food in the cabinets, left behind who knows how long ago!?!? And those were glass front cabinets. Not like housekeeping even needed to open it to see that. So someone is not paying attention.
I've never cooked in a DVC room but we do occasionally use cups or plates and I always wash them first. (and after, of course!) Last time we stayed at AKL/Kidani Village the utensil drawer was so filthy and full of crumbs that I was shocked.
We joined last year and since then I have heard from seasoned members how much the quality has gone down on DVC property (and perks) from years ago. I have no experience with that so I'm pretty happy with what I've been offered so far. But, you are right that you're paying a hefty amount for the privilege of staying at a Deluxe (or "Deluxe-adjacent" as Pete put it in another video), you expect a certain level of nice. It is a let down when that level isn't there. And I'm someone who is just as content to stay at a Holiday Inn on vacation than anywhere. But when I'm at Disney I do expect a higher level of service and accommodations. Maybe I need to readjust my expectations.
