    SEATTLE TRIP SERIES #2 2023 - Day 3-4 Episode 2
We start our day getting some breakfast at Toulouse Petit in the Queen Anne District of Downtown Seattle without Jacob, as he is still doing his first full day of orientation. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend eating at this restaurant. It was then time for Pike Place. Had some difficulty finding parking as it was already the middle of the day, so went down to the Amazon Center Parking, which seems to be free on Sundays, and walked about a 1/2 mile to the Pike Place Market. After a little shopping, we started our food adventure with Piroshky Piroshky, and continued with Oriental Food Mart for some Shanghai Lumpia (Filipino), Hom Bows at Mee Sum Pastry, Clam Chowders at Pike Place Chowder, Drinks at Rachel's Ginger Beer, and the best Mac N Cheese around at Beecher's. Jacob was done with School at this point, so we picked him up, headed into Bellevue, did some College Shopping for him at Target, and enjoyed a dinner at Cielo Cocina Mexicana. The food was average, nothing remarkable, but definitely filled us up.
We sadly said our goodbye's to Jacob as it was now time for him to live his Seattle U life. We moved into a new hotel, Hilton Garden Inn, in Tacoma near the Seattle Airport, and said our goodbyes to our Uber Driver, Josh (love this boy). Sad saying goodbye to two of our boys. We do a quick room tour, and then on to the final day, where we get up early, shuttle to the airport, and head back to L.A. and home. It was a great but very short trip. Now we have to deal with only 3 of us in the house. Definitely miss the two boys, but glad they are both thriving.
Next Up: We are back in Seattle for Family Weekend, but this time, Grandma Patty and Grandpa Mark are joining. It is a fun family weekend at Seattle U.

Always love our trips to Pike Place. Of course, we tend to hit all the regular spots, such as Piroshky Piroshky, Beecher's, Pike Place Chowder, and Mee Sum Pastry. We always find something good at those places. We did find a couple new places for breakfast and dinner. Really enjoyed our breakfast at Toulouse Petit. I don't think their sign outside is very easy to read, but other than that, the dining experience was really good. The food was definitely a winner. We also tried dinner at Cielo in Bellevue. It was average, nothing spectacular, but filling. Of course we had to say goodbye to Jacob, so although the trip was good, we were very sad to send yet another one of our boys away to college. Very happy for him and wish all the best for his year to come. Also, not sure that we really like getting up and leaving that early in the morning, but I guess it leaves the rest of the day open.
