I would love to see how the redeye compares to the demon in a half mile. Awesome video as always. Maybe next time, if you get a demon, you could make a longer video if you wish
There was a Redeye there that day. From Dodge themselves, I think, because they had a manufacturer's plate. However, it barely broke 156 in the half mile which I think leads me to believe that they weren't pushing it. But my guess is 162MPH? Just a wild guess though.
Track Day TV hmm that’s interesting. I’d love to get to drive a hellcat one day. Might be a bit too much power for me but should be fun. Got a buddy who owns one.
I just got my new brakes in the VW by the way. Stage 4 powerstop, slotted and vented. They should be very useful for the track day in 2 weeks. I will be wearing a GoPro on the helmet they provide to record the entire thing. I’ll link you the video in a comment in a few weeks when it’s up so you can check it out!

Track Day TV it’s the infield circuit at Texas motor speedway. 1.3 miles 8 turns, mostly straights though.

Your videos are real cool I've watched a few. Your test was very accurate. My hellcat charger and my buddies Demon is the same every time we're neck and neck for the first 100-200' mark, then...... by by, the demon draws in the dark powers and see ya later he's got me by a few car lengths in the 1/4 consistently.

Coming from little 4 bangers my whole Life I remember thinking the 2014 v6 charger was the fastest car in the world lol... Then I hopped in a 2016 Rt & would yell in excitement at full throttle... Now after driving a 2017 Camaro SS & 2019 mustang GT the RT is slowww man lol....(PS I don't own these cars, rent them from Avis)
@@Piffydaily I wouldnt say it's slow. Just not as fast as something else. Lol It's all relative. I had my eye on a 2ss 1le, I love the interior much more than the challengers but the widebody hellcat is just too beastly looking for me not to go after it
@@jonmack2437 r/t doesn't compare to the SS or GT, you need to step up to the dodge 392 or srt. Then you will think your SS and GT are slow.

I recently bought a super low mile certified 17’ a8 hellcat challenger for $50k but if I was going brand new, would go with the wide body Redeye, no doubt.

A Demon or a Hellcat? A Hellcat would feel like driving a yacht down a fast flowing river. Do-able, but not the best experience. The Demon would feel like driving that same yacht but in a Typhoon with 100+MPH winds. This Demon ran the factory skinnies in the front which is a no-no for anything but straight line runs and the Nitto DR's are decent for street driving and off ramps, but for real lateral G loads, they will certainly fold.

Thanks. Sounds like it's very close in power to a stock C7Z06. I think it comes down to driver and launch. If you go from a roll, the Hellcat may start to pull you at higher speeds. Yep i was told i put down a little more than the average C7 Z06 A8 and i dont have the aero drag they have and a little lighter being a Z51 car. I hope with the less aero drag and with mine being a Centrifugal Supercharger id have the top end to hang. Hope i can find out soon! Thanks for the feedback
@@charlesfrison7135 Anytime. Yes the base C7's have a weight advantage over the Z06. Based on my research, manual Z06's put down about 10-20 more WHP than the A8, so that's also a factor to consider. A8 Z06's have been anywhere between ~520-550 and M7 Z06's have seen ~540-570, all depending on dyno/op/conditions.
@@SpeedLabsMotorEnvy Yep those rwhp numbers is what i've seen as well. I think the big difference is the aero drag the Z06 has especially with the 2LZ and 3LZ packages. My Z51 has less aero drag to slow me down on top end. Hope that would help me a little. I hope to find out one day

Ok here's my experience. My Hellcat against my friends demon on the street is a Great race and I was surprised we were that close. Then my excitement called him out in the Drag Strip where the Demon Lives. That's when I found out the Demon didn't loose traction like he did on the street and I wasent even in the same league! Then I rewatched your video and I can see the Demon had Traction issues giving less Hp Cars a chance to hang with or Beat a Demon.
Yes, the air strip is much like racing on a street. Un-prepped so the drag radials have a slightly harder time off the line and also in the first two gears. You can see that once he hooked, the Demon was outta there.
Demon needs to run an FBO GTR! That’d be a fun race to watch. Good job 👍

Just got home and Track Day TV just posted. Really nice challenge between the both of them, but I am going to go with the Hellcat because its more of an all around vehicle. Have you gotten a chance to drive any performance sedans like the CTS-V or the Charger Hellcat?
I have driven a Charger Hellcat on a brief test drive when I was in the market last year. I would love to get more seat time with both of those cars though. That would be a great showdown.

To answer your question, a used TAFC is about the same money as a Demon but more running cost. Need a small team to roll an alcohol car also, so yes, a Demon. If I wanted a fast street Mopar, the Redeye is a more livable choice, IMO. Anything over 500hp is hard to hook up on the street. Keep up the superb work.
Yes, I agree, I think the Redeye is the better choice now given that they have basically trickled down the improvements from the Demon. I had trouble hooking the 707HP Hellcat in mildly warm weather when I reviewed it, so adding another 90 is not going to be pleasant for the tires.
I have an R/T. Why oh why didn't I get the srt. But I figure a bigger cam and a tune will help it a lot.

Serious question, Thanks in advance. But what is the purpose of a open-faced helmet vs. a full-faced helmet? Would the open protect you more in a crash or would the full face work better?
Close faced with a shield is definitely preferred in a SHTF racing situation but an open face gives you better peripheral vision and will suffice for casual racing. It's personal preference, when I race off camera I wear a Simpson Diamondback but for the purpose of being on camera and sometimes having to talk, I'll wear the Conquer open face as seen in this video.
