the book said to lean the bike to take all the oil out , thee is a lot more in there if you don't lean the bike ! also the rubber seals need to be checked before putting the oil filter cap. pre-oiling doesn't do nothing .. except creating a mess. But you made me watch it , that's what youtube is all about (i also clicked on the GMC commercial, apparently I need a new truck, haha )

Guys beware, in my 2006 wr450f theres a drain bolt near the front that he doesnt mention, it looks like a bolt coneccted to the frame. Dont miss that bolt!!!!
I've got the '05 Wr450 it's sucks you have to check the oil on the frame after idling it for 3 minutes..Totally goofy🤪

Hi i have a wr400f and the motor broke down, i want to ask if all the parts except cylinder and piston is the same in the wr450f ? because i want to do an upgrade in the motor and go to buy the parts of the wr450f !!

What size are the hex heads and bolts? Including skid plate.
can you tell me what the torque settings are for the crank case cover
Put oil on the oil filter rubber seals.
thats all i do. i dont pre oil filters only the seal.

I also have a 2012 Yamaha wr450f and was changing the oil. I put a quart of 4t motor oil and still not reading anything on dipstick. Has this ever happened to you? Any feedback appreciated
I have a 09 and it does the same thing, once I run it there’s oil on the dipstick

theres is a secondary oil filter I wanted to see where is it.
Its on the front of the bike frame., cant miss it..

Some KTM’s crush the oil filter if it’s not pre-filled with oil.
Just tilt the bike on it’s side and fill it, takes 2 seconds

my wr450 makes more noise with yamalube than with others. Because I bought a box of yamalube I'm adding 30% of lucas oil and at least by now is working fine. My mechanic said next time open the engine I might have to replace the selector in the transmission. He said use it with lucas for a while. Anyway it worries me.
@@MrLdvo Theres no way your bike is noisier with yamalube unless your putting yamalube 2 stroke oil in your fourstroke lol. The stuff people come up with I I just shake my head. If yamalube was that bad that you could hear an engine actually make more noise then there'd be major problem with their engines using this oil. Yamaha would know about it and would take it up with their supplier who manufactures their oil. They don't want problems.
