    If you're taking requests, would you do a video on the different ways you're gripping the file, and how you should angle the file to the nail at each stage? At this speed, I can't quite make that out.

    Thank you soooooo much Natasha!!!! I needed this!!! I just put on acrylic over my shorter nails to make them match the longer ones I have cause I didn't want to cut my natural long nails to match the shorter nails. I saw your video "after" I had filed my nails. I didn't do too bad for the first time. My application was terrible and had lots of filing to do. I love how you made this video with the little picture with arrows in the upper left corner and actually see what your doing at the same time! Makes it so much easier!!! Awesome video!!! I love it! and I love you too!!!

    I really needed this video. I have been struggling with leveling my gel without filing. I can, but there are these little things I notice and I now succumb to the fact I’ll have to file. 😀 Chasing that “line of light”. Great term. Exactly what I judge a lot of nails on. Lol.

    I could just listen to your voice all day 😄 I love your videos, and BTW, I've watched A LOT of [professional] nail videos on CZcams and I've NEVER heard anyone mention not using anything more than a 180 grit on "fresh" acrylic. always wonderful to learn something new. could you explain a little more as to why? maybe this is why my nails always end up lifting after a week or so?

    • @NatashaLeeDivine
      @NatashaLeeDivine  Před 7 lety +6

      +Unicorn Kitteh hi and thank you for your lovely comment. It's actually because it can take up to 36 hours for "freshly applied" acrylic to fully set. Using a file more abrasive than a 180, or tapping your nails on a desk etc within that time frame can cause microscopic cracks and weaknesses that can cause a service breakdown i.e. The nails might break or lift. Each brand of acrylic (or the official name liquid and powder) differs in its full set time, some it might be 8 hours after applying, some it might be 36 hours. I used to be an educator for CND and they have excellent training and research. It's just sometimes I forget to mention some of the little nuggets of info as I stepped down a couple of years ago. Hope that helps xxxx

      Natasha Lee thank you for that wonderful "nugget" of knowledge! I can't afford schooling right now, but it's a long term goal of mine once my other student loans are paid down. for now I rely on youtube and the internet. but I will def have to keep that in mind with filing as there are a couple areas I seem to struggle with, the main one being the length of time I get quality product. I always get lifting and I've tried everything! even tried all new products (brush, primer, powder & monomer) I will have to try this! thank you!

    Natasha, I have one pet peeve about getting my acrylic nails done. I have a very hard time communicating the parallel lines that I want not just on the sides of my nails from the top view, but also when you look at the nail from the side view. Why is it every single nail tech wants to file my nails upward towards the middle of the top end of the nail when filing on the sides? It makes my nails look more almond-shaped along the sides. I feel like I can not even communicate here what I am talking about unless I can draw a picture, or make my own video. (I am not a nail tech). I prefer my nails very square, and I want the sides straight and parallel. Not just straight from the top view, but also when you look at my nails from the sides. I want it to look like my nails are coming straight out of the nail bed, not growing up and in towards the middle of the end of my nail. I would really like a video from someone that understands my frustration. I may need to email you photos of what I would like them to look like, and what my nails end up looking like so that you can teach me the correct lingo when communicating how I want the final product to look like.

      Thats called the lower arch and should be straight. Thats a step that is she is not showing in the clip unfortunatly.
      Turn your hand a quarter so you can see the side of the nail. Put your file straight against the lower arch and file a straight line.

      Bonni Hall you don't cleanse acrylic. Acetone eats away acrylic.

    Although I'm not a professional, and I don't even wear acrylics, I'm loving this video series. I must admit I wish you'd changed those dirty gloves, just for the video's sake!!!

    Natasha, you should do zipper nail art. That would be amazing. But it's just an idea......

    Nail techs in Australia are so useless. Every nail salon I go to, I don't complain, I just point out a flaw or a slight mistake and they get so defensive and angry.. and start talking in Vietnamese to one another, they're rude & unprofessional and hate suggestions. Like, I'm paying for these nails I can tell you how I want them to look and if I think something isn't right. I wishhh I could find someone like you here in Aus. I wouldn't care about price as long as it was done properly. They can't even do a simple effing pattern on the nails without it looking like my 5 year old niece drew it on. Ugh & I love nails and nail art so much, just hate not ever being pleased with them

    Does the acrylic you use has a strong odor and could you recommend a brand that has low odor please?

    • @ashcashcarter
      @ashcashcarter Před 7 lety

      kym kiswe it's the monomer that is odorous, not so much the acrylic.

    I wish u would have shown the c curve thickness after you adjusted it, or a better angle to show how thick the nail is where. Hard to tell in a top-down perspective.

    • @NatashaLeeDivine
      @NatashaLeeDivine  Před 6 lety +1

      I use nitrile gloves I pick up on amazon, the same as tattooists. They have a slight texture on the fingertips which helps when working.
