I found that using Gimp's color picker is a much more accurate way to choose the exact value of the green screen color. The one built into Kdenlive is somehow off... at least for me. So, play your clip in VLC, use shift+S to save the image with the green screen, and then bring the image into Gimp to choose the green color value.

My question is, can I use any color for the background instead of green? I assume the color picker will notice. I tried it just now with white background but didn't manage to get a perfect result.
I did the exact and green didnt go away. Some tutorial says to use Chroma Key along with Composite transition and it did work but the keying is still not that good. Finally I managed my way using Blender node editor. BTW your turoial is to the point and simple to follow...great job!

Kdenlive may not give the best results for this, but you would use the transform tool and set keyframes to make the images follow the green paper. The free software Natron has a corner pin tool and tracking tool that can do this very well.

@@husni041 I'm not sure. I've had Kdenlive crash when doing certain operations like this too. I think the issue is a software bug, and not a hardware issue on your part.
I'm going to have to give up on Kdenlive on my Windows 10 machine. I somehow did something that rearranged and changed my Kdenlive screen to something I'm not understanding. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help as it came up exactly the same. I know you are not here to troubleshoot problems but thought some others might recognize this issue. I tried searching for fixes, but so far that is like going down a rabbit hole. Something about MLT keeps getting mentioned, but there is no evidence of it on my PC. Not even sure if that has anything to do with the issues. Good luck with you, but I'm turning to other software.
First of all, recently Kdenlive ruined their program. It was easy, then they made it complex. The dashboard you have is one I couls easily work, I've made a hundred videos. The new version really bites.

Glad you got it to work with Blender. Natron is excellent software to use if you are doing green screen / chroma key.

Great question. I use them both regularly, but I currently recommend Shotcut. It renders faster and has better cross platform compatibility.

They work best with blue and green though

Good question. I'm sure the minimum, but if a computer will run Windows 10, it will also be able to run Kdenlive.

@@husni041 KDEnlive was always a bit crash-prone even under KDE.,,.., just save often and use the open recent thing,.,.,.
