    After starting to use Kdenlive recently, I hunted around CZcams for a few basic tutorials to get me started. Yours have proved to be by far the best. Thanks for your efforts.

    One funny thing about this video, to me, is that the moment I first used Kdenlive I immediately started making intense use of the clip monitor and its features to save clips and notes. And here I find a video that puts these in the front as tips! :D It really is a life saver for stream clip compilations.

    Victoriano, your kdenlive tutorials are consistently helpful. I especially like that you provide links to the video clips you use, so I can follow along with what you're doing. The pacing and the level of detail is just right. Thanks!

    Cutting, deleting, and moving over in the timeline is a habit I brought over from PowerDirector. Making in and out points in the Kdenlive clip monitor is SO MUCH better, not to mention cleaner!

    Muchos gracias señor - I love Kedenlive and Blender because you don`t need an expensive 250 watt graphics card to make it work like the other popular (almost free) software.. Your tips made my day !

    What a nice collection of handy tips. I also found Ctrl+Space shortcut that plays the current in-out selection pretty useful. Especially if you are trying to do precise cuts matching music.

    Hi! I just started going throug kdenlive (coming from Premiere, pretty advanced) so videos like this are very useful to me. Just one comment: when you customize the toolbar, it doesn't disappear, it just weirdly goes to the bottom of the interface, so you don't need to memorize where things are, you have them all right there, just under the timeline instead of on top of it. Thank you for your content!

    Thanks for the tips. I`ve learned and used Kdenlive recently (Windows 10) and, despite bugs, I think it`s a very good editing software for professional narrative editing work - my major interest (I`ve been using DaVinci Resolve). But the render / export profiles, mainly to 4K / Ultra HD and 2k to broadcast tv or Cinema display codecs are missing. I downloaded ProRes and Matroska profiles, but as long as I know, all of them are full HD, including the transcoding possibilities. So I ask you if the Kdenlive 4k broadcast codec implementation is yet to be done, or I missed something?

    • @victorianodejesus
      @victorianodejesus  Před 2 lety +1

      If you setup your project as a 4K project i.e. 4K UHD 2160, you should be able to export out to 3840 x 2160 format using the Generic MP4-H264 option in Render. When you scroll down the Render options, there is also Ultra-High Definition 4K (HEVC) option. I hope this helps.

    Hi Victoriano de Jesus, great videos, thanks! Could you please let me know how to import video from a Panasonic HPX-170 P2 card camera to bring the clips into the bin? Not sure if this is something that can be done, but since this editor seems quite advanced, I thought it would be able to. Thank you!

    • @victorianodejesus
      @victorianodejesus  Před 3 lety

      I did a quite google search and it looks like this camera is using a video format that I am not familiar with (DVCPRO, DVCPRO HD). I think you can try to convert that format into MP4 using Handbrake or WinFF. Keep me posted if this ends up working for you.

    • @ReliableNewsMedia
      @ReliableNewsMedia Před 3 lety +2

      @@victorianodejesus Hi, thanks for the quick reply. I meant actually bringing what I shot into the Kdenlive editor. I shoot 1080 60i and use Edius editor to transfer clips into it from the camera, then export an .MPG file which I can easily drag and drop into Kdenlive. I'm just trying to figure out how to bring the clips I shoot directly into Kdenlive directly from my camera. Thanks for the tip about Handbrake, I have to use it to bring my clips into DaVinci Resolve 17. Funny how free software gives me no problems with that.....lol.

    Can you describe how to DELETE the "in" and "out" points that were previously set? I can't get rid of them on my timeline and I'm fearful that something will be modified. Thanks for any assistance you can provide!

    • @victorianodejesus
      @victorianodejesus  Před rokem

      I have not used In/Out points in my timeline. However, in the clip monitor, the easiest way to get rid of them is to go to the very beginning of the clip and press "i", then go to the ver end of the clip and press "o". So you are re-setting the in and out points at the very beginning and end of the clip.

  •  Před 8 měsíci

    Hi, good video. I have mapped my shortcut to shift+S for extract, and S just for delete. I use E for cut and F to remove space. I that way I can edit faster. My tutorials for Krita's YT channel.

  • @bigtee2000

    How do you navigate from the "in" and "out" points? I am editing a let's play and I have long amounts of footage but want to edit spots that are boring or repetitive. I figured the "in" and "out" would work for this but I am not able to find a way to simply move to the "Out" point without having to scrub the timeline. If that makes sense.

    • @victorianodejesus
      @victorianodejesus  Před 2 lety +1

      Try setting the In and Out points and then pressing “CTRL I” to add that particular section into your Project Bin. I found this feature recently because I tend to edit long clips as well.
      After you add a section, you can select another In and Out point, and press CTRL I to add a new selected section in your Project Bin.
      Let me know if that works for you.

    • @bigtee2000
      @bigtee2000 Před 2 lety

      @@victorianodejesus After months of playing around I figured it out. After entering the "in" and "out" points you can then navigate between the in and out by Alt + Left Arrow or Alt + Right Arrow to move between points.
      Now a separate question (and I will look through your videos) but, I just started doing multichannel recording in OBS and when I bring the videos into Kden both audio tracks show up in the Clip Monitor , but only one of the tracks plays back in the Clip Monitor.
      When I bring the clip into the timeline I can then hear both audio tracks and can control them accordingly with the mixer.
      My question. Is there a way to select which audio tracks you are able to hear (or which ones Kden playsback) in the Clip Monitor?
      Thank you in advance.
