Where does the fuel tank go?
@@Jsellers1965 he has an old gasser tank bolted to the back of the roll cage
Damn I wanna see this thing on the road. Vids are sweet dont get me wrong, but super excited to see it in action
Definitely love seeing how you dig through these tight spots and all of your thinking behind the decisions. Great video man.
I actually had a 91 CRX mini-me (basically a v-tec hybrid using a 1.5 liter hf-bock with a v-tec head and electronics -- car was a really fun car to drive. My brother did all the heavy lifting and sold me the car -- but have to say this really stretches the imagination of any kind of thoughts on modification. Never thought there would ever be a way to fit a v8 in the thing, let alone bagged and all the other insane things you're assembling here.
Love it man.
Engine placement looks much better, keep it up! Can’t wait to see the thing driving!
Me too!
lowest, flattest seat tracks are off of a dodge durango. One inch tall. Work awesome, I have a set in my roadster.
Ooh good to know!
I hate doing the "I told you so" on the whittle down of the cross member but this is one that you responded to me that you were considering doing it WAY back then. Again, a perimeter frame down the rocker panels would get your butt on the ground and seats would fit ok. Copy what's out there because it works. Just adapt it for your situation. I also suggested that a 4 link with the lowers links on the outside of frame and then use a shorter triangulated uppers like GM mid-sized full frame design and you said there isn't room but I believe you were thinking the uppers on the outside also. Then you have forever room for your seats and a damn good suspension design. The farther outboard your lowers, the better the car will work. It increases strength and stability. This is going to be a cool car, you're working too hard trying to get it done for the channels sake, and have to do some hard stuff over. I still say you should contact me so you can ask me questions. Chassis design is my specialty. Some of my designs were used in NASCAR for a long time before rule changes eliminated them. I'd love to help you... You are like me, you do a LOT with a little and it keeps me coming back. I comment very little on YT, and your channel is one of them, so that says a lot to me! I would do a lot more content on my side if I didn't hate moving camera's all over the place and editing....
Glad you read our comments, especially the ones about safety. I was one of the people who commented about those pipes in the front, but I don't know if you read it. 🙂 21:41 I did mention that you should move the gas tank behind the roll cage though. Would make more sense to have the gas tank more protected than an air tank. just saying. 😉
Plan on putting a “firewall” around the gas tank, so it’s actually better to not be close to me 👍
@@CaseysCustomshave you seen what’s happened to gingiums mid engine eclipse? I don’t remember all of the situation, but I know he had the gas tank close to the outside of the car and got hit and it went up in flames. Just something to keep in mind. No idea if that’s a risk with the current tank location.
@@gavinhicks7621this guy is a idiot everything he does is for clicks n views. Plus everything he does is just bad. I haven't seen anything he does that even looks good..
funny thought when your driving this if you want to advance the timing you can just reach forward in the drivers seat and turn the distributer 🤣
Exactly! 😂
IMO..it’s better to take a long time than to rush! I really enjoy your build brother. Thanks for being inspiring! Fr.
Good job Casey now your engine bay doesn't look like a trunk lol. WAY BETTER!!!!! 👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑
This is by far the sickest build I’ve seen in a while. Can’t wait to see it finished
Kick ass! Coming along good! Like it was supposed to have a v8 in it!
This change will make the build so much better, loved it and now i love it even more, thanks for the commitment and the videos, always happy to see you create awesome things man.
Thank you very much!
I love how "Richard" gets tired of editing the cussin' after a couple minutes into your vids... 😅😂 he must give up screaming "F-it!!" 😂
First 5 mins are all that matter for ads lol
You’re absolutely entertaining, I love the internal thoughts and monologue, thank you.
you might wanna try the stock crx seats. they sit very low in the car
I think i still have them! I’ll have to take a look

Casey saying “that is a really cool looking car” at every one of his builds
Alot of "keyboard " mechanics here. Unless you have ever BUILT anything like this before you would know that things can change daily . Fabrication isn't a sure thing. Ideas are always changing as you go. Great build Casey 👏 👌 👍
Would love to see you with Matt’s off-road recovery at the off-road games! Check em out!
I don’t know anything about it, I’ll have to take a look! He’s buddy’s with my man Robby Layton so i might have an “in” lol
I have been keeping up with the build. Moving the motor made it so much better. Happy to see you did that.
I can't tell you how much of an inspiration you are with this build. I'm starting 3 Anglias soon. I have sourced the frames, engines, and even bought two new welders. Being handicapped I know it's going to be ruff. I've built a few show cars so I know what I'm in for. Looking so forward to getting dirty. Thank you.
Thank you for the kind words and You can do it!!
Hey Casey, in Australia the LS's and other V8's have after market sumps where the deepest part is at the opposite end for when people move engines further back or forward etc.
You may need to cut your oil feed (inside the sump) and rotate it 180 deg and reweld it.
Its the best right now i don't miss one video just love it
I love cars so much and I love the history and how people remember the past and previous mistakes. The fact you guys talk so much about safety is so awesome because crashing really sucks and it can always happen
You have a new nickname Rudolf when you finished the vid your entire nose was red as a brake light
It gets cold quick with that heater off 🤣
Gotta say, been watching since the first 1000 dollar build with the ford... Keep goin man you will for sure blow up one day... Broke my spine a wile back and look forward to your posts while stuck in bed... Mutch love from Michigan and keep it up
Thank you very much for watching along!
@@CaseysCustomsOne more thing.... You haven't checked the oil on the air compressor in a min. You better go do that
So glad you moved the motor, couldn't see it working as it was. Looking forward to the next episode!
Casey that is so much better with the engine moved forward. I like it so much better. Keep rocking!
We all had the feeling that the engine must move forward in order to make the car drivable. Can you build an engine cradle from scratch? A fabricated engine cradle or motor plates would be the way to go, IMO.
I can, but they sell a “universal” one with mounts for like 120 bucks. I can’t make it that cheap so it’s much easier to buy and save a bunch of time. I will have to modify it though (of course lol)
@@CaseysCustoms That seems to be a good plan. Your enthusiasm and creativity for car crafting makes videos like this entertaining and educational.
I love this application with the motor forward I really dislike that when it was so far into the cabin exclamation point this is going to look badass!!
It just keeps getting better!!
This has to be one of the best builds on CZcams right now
imagine this thing with the glass top lol this thing would be even more insane, i love it lol
i am so happy you pushed the engine forward.
Thank you Thank you for fixing that engine placement. I'm so glad.we dodged a bullet we that one
You could weld a small plate on the side of roll bar in back and mount the compressors.. just a thought.
I was thinking about this too!
Great progress!!!
Missed your chance to drive from the backseat, do things how you want to man im glad you can change things up so well
I love this build, Casey! Only problem is that you're gonna get deafened every time those compressors kick in 😂. Cheers. Leigh in Scotland. 🏴
It would be a pain but dope, you could incorporate those front bars into the roll cage rather then move them out, may be a little stronger then the molseted firewall.
That’s actually the plan
@@CaseysCustoms coulda figured, you know what’s up 🤙
Should single seat in the center and pedals on both side like a go cart.
Good decision, looking good keep up the good work!!!
Great moves made this episode. Thanks.
So stoked to see the motor moved forward looks way better.
FYI circle track tubular upper control arms for the s10 chassis are very, very affordable.
I knew this day would come. Good on ya for fixing it up.
So glad you moved the engine forward. Looks better and much more room.
Great work Casey
Right on, man! Going backwards sucks but sometimes it’s what needs to be done.
Great build 👍
You basically did what everyone told you when you first tried to squeeze that motor under the hood. It was undriveable, so glad you fixed it.
Exactly. smh
Everybody is so smart!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@CaseysCustoms😂😂😂
Hahaha some people . If it was only as easy as a stroke of a keyboard. You’re doing great and I love your sarcasm Casey . Never let them hater get you down .
Again sir great video but it is I who am building the baddest CRX on the planet
Yoo bro I love Hondas and love what u doing to this crx now that's my dream honda
Looks 1000x better. Looking good 👍🏾
I can't wait to see it on the road it going to be a beast
This is my favorite car you have going right now, and you can recut and re weld it as much as you want... more to watch
So glad you moved it forward! Now it needs a tunnel ram!
looks so much better with the engine farther forward!
Hell yea Casey 💪
Digging this build more now!
CASEY WHERE IS MY $70 STICKER??? 😂 loving the build but .....can't wait to see u get on that slammed chevy again
Still one of my fave builds! I do hope you consider either moving the tank so you can see out through that sliver window in the hatch OR put a big bold beautiful Casey's Customs sticker on the tank for all behind to behold!
That thing is super cool...sux to redo work and sometimes I run into that myself
Casey those air compressor placement might be a bad choice try and get then off the sheet metal, and get them on the roll cage with a compressor bracket and isolators it'll dampen the sound while they a running. The sheet metal mounting will drive you crazy, especially on board
Like the Video for the algorithm! Help Casey out! 🔥
This is the coolest car imho
It is a badass looking crx absolutely love it one of my favorite imports with one of the best sbc in it l…love it
Going to be a snappy unit right there.
Holy shit! People really like saying told you so. Love the videos.
Love the motor placement now but you cut the cowl for no reason I guess. But it all comes down to this crossmember we'll wait & see...
Nah dist still sticks way up back there, even with the low profile dist i have coming it will still need that space
You are a awesome fabricator just about all your ideas work
Casey love the channel love the builds your awsome
You need to make a table for your beadroller ,made 1 for mine ,it's the way to go ,less warping and the metal doesn't get hung up on the beadroller either ,made mine out of 1" ×1/8 angle iron,18guage tin for table top,and no slot in table either just a hole for rollers to poke through ,and 4 5/16×1bolts to fasten it securely, definitely worth having a table
just thought use a motor plate to mount engine in front also stiffens front as well. trans mount flip mount plate to bottom of tube and extend it back should give you another 1" or so
If you need more hood room, look up an SiR hood for that car. The recess bumps out for more room
👑 or 🖍 either way thanx for such a great channel! Cheers to you and your whole crew !
Love it !!!!
The Car looks Sick Brother.l really like watching your Builds .You do Awesome Work and the Cars are Sick .They All Look Great .Keep Up the Awesome work Brother .Your inspiring to So many people .Great Cars Great Builds Brother.
Forgive me Casey, I'm only 3 minutes into the video at this point in which I'm writing this. I wrote a couple months back on how you could chop that factory S-10 crossmember out and replace it with 2x8 rectangular tube. You hadn't yet done the steering rack so I didn't consider the placement of it. I'm anxious to see how you work this out. Carry on please 🫣 lol
its really hard to get a size perspective unless you have stood next to one🤣
maybe park it next to a modern like Honda or Toyota to show how small it is
I would love to see you turn a Suzuki Sierra/samurai into a slammed mini truck
Makes me want to do this to my del sol si!
There was a geo metro done just like this that used to frequent pickwick drag strip next to Savanah Tennessee it was the funniest fastest thing at the track everyone laughed at it till it started it was full tube chassis heavy nitrous fully worked 406 you looked at the back of it and it was nothing but pumpkin and slicks 😂 man I loved that car it would vibrate your chest
Awesome 😮😊
Looks beautiful now it was hurting me so hard every time I seen it like that
look into old Chevy Cavalier bucket seats.. they are tiny! I think a front flip hood would totally set it off.. might make carb and distributer easier to access also
❤it . Also when it's done.take it to Honda car shows 😂😂
Glad that motor going forward...
Too bad "someone" cut up the stock dash .... lol . Looking like it's heading in the right direction and good call on those front bars to angle makes total sense...
Too bad those seats wouldn't work, but can't wait to see what you come up with instead!
heasders likely going to be problematic , might need to build a log style exhaust manifolds , as for the motormounds , maibe use engineplates and solid mount it to the chassis , that would help make the front suspension more rigid too
Working it out! 😁👍
Engine plate leaves a fair bit of room on the sides for exhaust etc.
Those seats are going in the corolla for sure
Dude go with a COP set up and that will eliminate the need for a distributor. The pickup for the coils fits in the distributor hole and acts like a can sensor for timing.
Love the builds! Whats that sont at 7.53 ? Love IT! Would liste this thing whatever i am doing! Motivation! 👌💪🏼🔥😊
Cut the hood on the body line and raise the rear a couple inches leaving the front still attached. Almost like a cowl induction hood. I think you’re gonna have upper radiator hose issue otherwise.
Perfect that is going to be so better to service that engine - 🎉 now you’ll actually be able to drive it
This car is gonna be so insane once it's done, oh man
Oh Richard I’m so happy
Someone near me was selling a custom rear engine LS CRX lol. Wish i bought it.
Sick
Swivel seats out of an old el camino would be perfect for that car
be careful with those seats, I got the same ones off amazon and after a year the driverside seat failed, and snapped in half on me lol
