- Hi in this video we do some "gun smithing" to a Dan Wesson model 15 357 Magnum revolver from a pistol pac....Please hold your tears till the end of the video.
Thank You
Yes this really happened... - Hry
Dude! That was some nice work! Surgeries can be fun sometimes. I love a good challenge! 😃
Late to the party, but wonder if you could cut down the shroud and barrel, rethread it . . . and make a 3"??? The 15-2 with a small grip and 3" barrel would be a sweet carry.
I had this problem with my j22 I just took it apart and used a screwdriver thru my barrel
"The horror. The horror.. Your not an assassin, your an errand boy..."
Even the dog passed out ! I think this guy counter bored my Winchester 76...thanks I could buy it cheap because it was butchered....
Anderw Marcell Yeah I got a "reasonable" deal on the complete Pistol Pac.
I watched this again. There really was no other way to release the barrel.
On my Dan Wesson the nut that holds the shroud in place needs the tool to remove it. In fairness he seemed to do a good job.
The barrel nut seemed to have been "fubar'ed". And had no choice. Thanks, i did the work myself.
I really enjoy my Dan Wesson's. I have a #715 combo pack in 357mag, and a 22lr. (not sure of Model No. ) Did you ever replace the Barrel and Shroud? It looked like yours only had fixed sights on the rear. I'd only get the 2in. and 4in. barrels. to use with fixed sights. how about a part-2 video if it's fixed, maybe a little pumpkin popp'n!
kcurtis2717 the shroud survived with no damage. I did get a replacement barrel and barrel nut for it. Funny enough it sits in the 4" configuration most of the time now!
Most of the time? Does that mean you got another barrel length for it? The Dan Wesson's have a reputation for accuracy and durability. They were often seen on the Long Range Silhouette Matches. The use of the barrel nut at the front and back greatly reduced the barrel whip the long barrels created, thus increasing accuracy. Those guns fired thousands of full powered magnum ammo without problem. The Dan Wesson's strength was a big reason Smith and Wesson came out with the L framed Model 586/686. If you get some free time how about a pumpkin shoot with the #715. :)
kcurtis2717 it came as a pistol pack so I have all of the sizes. I like to shoot with the 8" too. I also have the various sight blades, patch, and belt buckle as well.
That's how mine came it's in a brown brief case with molded foam cutouts that are covered with a gold velour, for the gun extra barrels buckle and takedown wrench an feeler gage. The #722 only came in a molded foam box with room for one extra barrel, wrench and feeler gage, and a cardboard sleeve. Over the years I've found two extra barrels at gun shows so now I have 2, 4, & 6in. in 22LR. How well does the fixed sights work with the 8in. barrel? I've thought about putting a red dot or scope for hunting on the vent rib, I've seen one like that but I don't know how it was mounted. I'm NOT drilling any holes in the vent rib!! Thanks for the response it's been a good talk. Seeya, Ken
kcurtis2717 yeah I wouldnt drill or add optical sights to these. I like irons for the challenge. I have a Jpoint on my BFR and that I use because its easier to have one dot to view on a heavy revolver.
There is a 'special tool' to remove stuck barrels. I guess you didn't know that. I've used it on multiple guns. And no, I'm not talking about the barrel wrench you were referring to. Never damaged a barrel tube or a shroud. Hope you have a new shroud, barrel tube and nut.
This was a blank replica he is putting a real barrel on . The "tape : was actually the barrel block used in these blank guns to keep them from firing .
What kind of drill bit did you use?
Probably cobalt coated. Always Fresh bit for critical parts
You might have tig welded a metal bar across the barrel nut, i had to do this a few times for peeps who over tighten the nut or in one case a dumbass used lock tight on his.
So in truth we are drilling out a blank gun and making it into a real one right ?>
do you have any social media you share your projects on im trying to find a way to do that with my p29
@@murdaboyzmbt I live in Wisconsin . You cant even have blank guns shipped here anymore.
Boring barrels are quite easy usingn a drill press
Did you shoot the dog first mate?
Was this blank gun? ??
No, Dan Wesson 357 magnum pistol pack
V8 Merc ok thx sry for my next question i live in germany so i dont get a real gun my question is can convert a blank revolver with a bigger caliber (9mm) but 4.5 mm projectil or will expolde ?? If i only drill the close Barrel ?
@@AdolfHitler-lc5eb thats way too dangerous to do. Blank guns arent made to handle a real projectile. They are only to make noise. Its likely it will break
@@AdolfHitler-lc5eb
Back in the 90s during a war in my country my dad and some of his friends tried to convert blank revolver into a real thing.
Barrel exploded.
First, converting a blank gun is illegal. Second, you can convert it but where will you get the bullets? And third, the pistol will either explode in your hand due to heat coming out of the magazine or, if you're lucky and know what you're doing, the barrel will withstand around 20 bullets.
EWKARMS.COM makes a tool just for removing stuck barrel nuts so you don't have to drill your barrel.
WATERDOG300 no. It was really messed up. I ended up getting a barrel and nut from the anyway.
