This is the best tutorial for cooking sausages in a pan on YT, no one tells you how much time you're supposed to leave it in for
Jay Agaskar it depends on the pan and type of heat u got
so they don't want to tell or else it's generally misleading
@@chillblox8 Have you heard of this super smart invention called a thermometer?
@@musclesfrombrussels482 who’s bringing out a whole thermometer to cook a dam sausage

Thank you! I love cooking videos that are fast and straight to the point. Well done.
Thank you - this is the best and simplest, easiest method of cooking sausages. I tried your recipe and it turned out perfectly.
👍😘😂
" Recipe " lol
Breakfast links. Remove from fridge so they can reach room temp ( around 20 minutes. Pop them in boiling water for three to four minutes. Dry them. Place in frying pan on low heat and brown to your taste...anything between five to ten minutes.
I'm not retired. This sounds like the retiree method for guys with a lot of time and patience.
Excellent video! Thank you so much! Because of you, I now cook sausages perfectly, every time.
thank you. short and to the point. i love it when i find good tutorials on basic stuff and this is one of them :-D
Mine turned out absolutely fantastic, thanks for the amazing tutorial. Cooked mine for closer to 30 minutes though and rested for 5 because I like crispy skin
You cooked a sausage for 30 minutes loool? Did it look like a fosselized turd after?
@@fmar.8311 😂😂😂
30 minutes? lmao at what temperature? 96 degrees?
wot....
@@fmar.8311lmfao literally. 30 minutes is insane
This is excellent. Super helpful. Thanks so much
Thanks for the help, awesome tutorial it was my first time ever cooking and they didn't come out bad
Time also depends on the size of the sausage you're cooking. If you're cooking a sausage of a smaller size you'll be required to cook it for a fewer minutes than mentioned in the tutorial.
Quick, Understandable, Good job.
When doing the same thing try cutting some superficial lines along its length and parallel to each other. On three sides works best so the sausage or hotdog doesn't curl too much and can be rolled around in the pan. Angled to the sausage and parallel to each other works best. They'll cook faster and in more of their own juices. Have fun.
Thank you first time cooking a sausage today this helped there great
You surpass all these videos, simple explained and beautiful execution
and he's only 12 years old
Not even cooked
What if they’re already defrosted. Do I still have to add water or oils to the pan?
What type of oil did you use?
Thanks for the video, I routinely undercook the middle and end up just microwaving to cook to temp. What is the side you are serving it with?
it's basically red cabbage pickled in vinegar, sugar and spices (extremely easy and delicious hot or cold)
www.daringgourmet.com/traditional-german-rotkohl-sweet-sour-red-cabbage/
how to you even know if the middle is cooked ?
@@jonasbrm Thank you for this, I know you made this two years ago, but it just answered my question perfectly. 👌
Cool. Thank you for posting this.
You saved my morning
Awesome!
Ily thx 😭 couldn't find a fast simply sausage tut surprisingly till now
And I need 2 make breakfast soon
How do you check if they are up to temp? By sight?
Can someone please let us know what heat to set the stovetop to, that info would be nice.
Wow this worked great 👍 👏 Thanks heaps
is the pan too hot if the Olive oil starts making crispy sounds every 2 seconds? I fried 2 Bratwursts with middle heat in cold pressed Olive oil for 15min
Thanks for the video!
Had Some, merci. Good Foods.
Thank you!
Did you serve it with rødkål,
i acrually recommend cutting them in peices before cooking.
so you can roll them in the heat to make the outside look cooked too
Thank you so much
I used to bring the gas to high to cook it faster but it only burnt the outside but raw inside.
Thank you.
I was never taught this thank you so much!
What did he teach? Drip oil on a pan and cook something.
@@Frip36it helps us who have absolutely no clue of anything that has to do with a kitchen
Yes, thank you!
Do you use vigar oil to cook sausage
I notice you don't use water like many other videos explain to do but instead go straight to pan fry and cover. Do you think the steaming method is necessary? The method you use in this video seems like a slow fry with lid to help steam it at the same time. Interesting, I will try this but am curious about your insight.
once i saw people suggest boiling, i immediately thought of steaming instead. keeps the juices and flavors in, what's not to love?
boiling appears to be faster though. but i dont like the concept of tossing things away (which would be perhaps negligible flavor in the water).
if time is an issue, probably boil. i dont have an issue with time, and i also use a timer.
When you boil sausages, you loose most of the flavor in if.
shit bro you made this a long time ago but this helped me a lot, thank you man.
thanks a lot
Thanks 😊 now I’ll cook yummy sausages
1:00 hey that looked like a creepy face for a second
Ya, fk oil. Lard, butter, etcétera
good video.
What’s nitrile oil
Rødkål means red cabbage, but I like how you trying to speak danish 😂👌
What is the stove flame set at? Low, medium or high?
Medium-low
You don't make x slices in the meat?
The sausages I’m cooking have directions that say to cook for 25 minutes so that’s what I’m going to do. But thank you so much for this video because aside from the cooking time there were no other instructions on how to cook them.
I am glad! I hope they turn out ok!
@@FlavorLab they were delicious! And I ate them with kimchi
Glad to hear!
Thanks
Actually, place some water in your pan (not a lot maybe 1/2 cup) and some fat or I use butter. place your sausage in the pan and bring to a simmer. Cover and let cook until the water has evaporated. This cooks the sausage threw. then fry in the remaining fat until crispy and as brown as you like. works perfectly well every single time.
so what makes your method better?
@Frip36 he just said
It cooks it all the way through
is it ok if i add a cup of water in the frying pan, and boil them a bit first ? cuz i don't have a lid to put on right now, and i really crave turringer sausage
it is perfectly ok if u dont have lid u can try using a plate

Seems like some delicious red cabbage :D
It's beetroot and he's from South Sudan
its actually red cabbage spiced up and fermented. then to eat like that or heat it up. he's from germany
@@zZSandStormZz thanks I had a feeling this was a European thing
Is it fine if I use butter instead of cooking oil
No, not allowed
Mine turned out great. I cooked them in a little less then 3 hours using gluten free olive oil
Is it not best to prick sausages a few times with a fork first?
A little bit of an old comment at this point, but no, not always. If you puncture the sausage you just risk all the juices and flavour escaping once cooking.
What did you add on at the end? Or how is it spelled? Roccol?
i also want to know
rotkohl
What if my sausages are frozen?
where do you get your bratwurst from?
I think you cooked two line on the sausage and left the rest raw
Ye
I caan't get mine to stop splitting TwT
Thank youl
What i do is let them cook in their fat for like 2 3 mins and then add water to let the steam cook the inside without burning it. Also helps use all the flavour of the sausage that comes off while cooking
darn I don't have the cover shiii
I burnt my 5 sausages in pan, now im here.
Just stop cooking
Wait i wasn't looking do it again!
Instructions unclear burned my house down
Made my partner the best Chedder and Jalapeño Sausage ever
sweet I can cook, I'm a real man now!!
All that oil in a non-stick pan?
does look excessive to me as well, but he'd said it was to help distribute the heat from the pan to the sausages better (meaning the sausages would cook more evenly)
you dont need much, but i noticed when i cooked something similar (hot dog) it was taking much longer to brown. i noticed it was simply the heat transfer and having no liquid meant a super tiny surface was in contact with the pan. when i used whatever little oil came out to cook a second round, it appeared to cut down browning time.
What oil do I use
These are way different from hot links lol I discovered that today lol
Hi pooh 😘
If you’re not sure they’re cook, just pop it in the oven for 10 mins at 400 f
That looks raw asf
It’s a bratwurst, that’s the color they are
What kind of sausage did he say he is cooking?
Bratwurst
News flash- there are MANY types of oil; should mention the one you used ;)
Yes, sausages are thick!!!! That's what she said!!!!!
was she yo momma?
Deez nuts
I'm going to try this with hot links, I'll report back once they're done
So the hot links were a little burnt probably because I didn't cut a line across them to let them cook properly or maybe I just use a little too much oil one of those two things
If I was served sausages that looked like that they would be sent back as very under cooked they must be brown all the way around
What was the purple shit with the sausage. Does it make you pass wind. I have a problem with wind.
I cook sausages a lot and I cooked some from Trader Joe’s tonight and I was cooking them for more than 30 minutes they were completely charred and still raw on the inside in certain places. It really bothered me!! I hate making food and having to throw it away -_-
How hot was your pan?
thats not cooked proper

I'm not saying this recipe is bad bet when the sausages were done cooking each of them split in half I think cooking the sausages for 3 min is better
They're not done evenly all round!
Sorry no offense but I'd reject those if they were given like that to me in a restaurant!
You have to have the bratwurst with mustard!
That's weißwurst, made with veal.
That is not done
Try this out czcams.com/video/SDBvRcrWUbc/video.html
Are these already boiled? They definitely aren’t raw, will be completely different so this video kinda sucks
good vid
10 minutes
Consider the following: Sausage is precooked meat 99% of the time. Just cut in half and brown each side. Medium heat and remove from pan after desired brownness.
That’s true of frankfurters not sausages.
You must be an American to think that frankfurters and sausages are the same thing. 😂
