I think you don't really get that many split ends if you grow your hair out without cutting or trimming it for a while, given that you take good care of it, of course. After a certain point, the split ends are probably going to retain the same length. I've gone without trims for more than two years at a time and while I don't have her hair type (mine is 2c-3a I think) I've noticed the same thing on my virgin hair. The good thing about curly/coily hair is that either way, you don't get that many split ends, or, if you do, they aren't really that visible when the hair is in its natural form.
I was thinking the same thing! That trim looked like she has been regular getting her hair trimmed every 8-10 weeks or so. She has beautiful hair!

@@DeeperThanHairTv my hair could never. I have ultra-fine ultra-coily 4c type hair. Throw in genetics (I'm a thalessemia carrier) and medications(antidepressants and mood stabalisers) and my hair splits and breaks and knots and tangles for fun.
@Jada Nichole actually, it is possible. My hair grows at 1 inch per month minimum and the maximum it grows ot 1.5 inches within 1 month. I do not take any vitamin supplements or do anything special. This is just a result of a healthy diet and genetics, so it is very possible to go for trims every 8 weeks.
You know your a bomb stylist when your clients willing to wait 4 years and travel to another state so that you'll be the only one to touch her hair.

I feel like trimming your hair is somewhat of a misconception when it comes to hair care. Sometimes it can be awhile before I trim my hair and my hair has always been healthy.

@@donthaveausernameonmind7450 I guess it depends on the type of hair you have. I get trims 3 times a year. But I need it because I do braids, weaves and I color my hair. If you leave your hair in its natural state most if time and it doesn't break then I guess you can go longer

I have seen stylist keep cutting if they can see through the hair. They say it's all split ends

@@Ebunoluwa13 i thought it depends on the person’s hair? I have very thick hair and a lot of strands. My split ends look as thick as my regular hair, but they are raggedy-looking and dry. I can tell I need a trim when my hair snags at the ends no natter what I do. When it’s blown out and straightened, it looks very close to my hair, but it’s very frizzy.
I feel like we shouldn’t over generalize everyone’s hair because we’re all so different.
That’s not bad for not having them done in 4 years.

Yes. I was seeing a few videos on a cosmetologist and even tho she seems quite knowledgeable she was so irritatingly mad. For about a month. Loud and mad at how folks are doing their hair with the natural stuff. I understand what she saying but sheesh calm down. And stop looking like your a kook in the thumbnails. Just so bad.
Then i looked over to Deeper Than...and calmness came to my mind and i remembered why she has such a better subscribership and why im subbed to her. Whew calmness. ☺

Right! At first I was thinking, it's taking a little long to blow dry, even though her hair isn't super thick. Not in a judgemental way, just in a curious way. Then I thought, ahhh she's doing it on a low setting. Ensuring no heat damage. She really does care for the hair. Cuz chile! The Dominican salons be having that thing set on "hell". 😂
A stylist told me to make up my mind what I wanted, hair looking good or a fit body, cuz You can’t have both...she said if you workout your hair won’t look good.I have heard so much nonsense from stylist and heard them say dumb stuff to clients! I love your channel.

She got that resistant and resilient hair. My hair disintegrates if I go too long without a trim. I tried stretching out to 16 weeks. Nightmare. I've tried stretching it to 12 weeks desperation. I'm literally going to go back to 6 weeks for my ultra-fine ultra-coily ultra-dry 4c hair.

@t j Depends on your hair. Protein overload can happen very easily with people who are Protein sensitive causing way more damage than help.

Today, October 30th was my last day working in a hotel after 13 years! I prayed and I cried and 3 weeks ago I put in my notice. I AM FREE! Now I'm on the road to creating a candle company! I don't know how I came across your channel but I love watching the transformations and I subscribed awhile back. My hair is naturally straight but I wish I could do hair like you. Their hair always looks so good after and you can see how happy your clients are.
