  • Well I certainly didn't expect to find this when beginning the process to replace my C5 Corvette's harmonic balancer...
This just made everything a little more interesting!

Of course! Be sure to check out my other recent video where I discuss my auction buying experience (if this is your first turn buying a car from Copart / IAAI). Let me know if any questions come up, I’m happy to help.

I've had a sub frame on the marketplace forever. Had I known you needed one, I would have sent it out. It's a good time to do a pan gasket, motor mounts etc. Good luck.

Sorry I missed this comment! Thanks, job is all done now! Did a lot of preventative maintenance "while I was in there".

Every Corvette C5 Owner likely has a few freak out moments given the amount of issues these cars have such as multi switch, harmonic balancer, upper oil pan gasket leaks, transaxle leaks, water leaks, headlight motor gears, bad grounds, parking brake. Can have mine fur $5500 with 51,000 miles and 1/3 the issues. In 20 degree weather after a long overtime shift said practical cars boring but save alot of time, and stress. Newer AMG maybe more horsepower, better suspension, quiet.
Time is money, so at $80+ an hour of valuable time, buys newer, more reliable, fun. 😁

All in all these cars are actually pretty reliable. It’s not my daily either. Plus I bought this car to learn and wrench on it 😉

@@AddimotiveMy work car Lincoln Mark VIII LSC had 36,000 miles when got it, reliable, good suspension, and ok Intech 4.6 V8. It's hard to come home evenings and see it's bright red paint, good style lines, and stance, and feel it saying please put the pedal down like we used to, after 31 years wrenching, and being conservative in my spending, time to treat myself to something newer, modern technology, and more horsepower. As fur subframe did IAA and Copart for 31 years also, they used to be old school could talk to front desk, and yard drivers, treat them polite, they had carpet covered forks, could request no forks, would let you put wheels/tires on, new battery in, etc, and drive them out to you, now just long forks, gravel pothole lots at some, bounce the shi- out of them, and claim as-is where is, no responsibility for damages. Good luck, I enjoy watching.
