- On a summer’s night in August 2022, Liverpool, a ruthless criminal pursued a man through the streets with deadly intent. He had managed to injure him, but had failed to deliver the fatal shot. They were members of the city’s criminal underworld - people who only brought pain and misery to others like them. But this night, the lives of an innocent family and a 9- year-old girl would be forever shattered. This is what happens when the worlds of decent people and those of criminal scum collide. This is the murder of Olivia Pratt-Korbel.

Makes me sick to the stomach to think a poor child isn't safe in thier own home. Beyond horrific hearing this one. I've can't even begin to imagine the trauma her mum & brother live with every single day.

It's just imaging how Olivia was most likely happily asleep in bed, lost in her dreams before waking to a commotion that really upsets me. Life can so quickly be turned upside down by the most heinous and selfish people.
Oh I sobbed through so much of this. Your coverage was so heartfelt.

I don't usually shed actual tears even when I hear awful child cases, because I'm desensitised to an extent I suppose. But I was fully sobbing when Emma's voice started shaking and the tears fell from her eyes for Olivia.

I genuinely don't understand the thought process of someone who would willingly back him. The fact that his ex lover was receiving death threats is just unbelievable.
They're just too stupid to comprehend the damage they are doing. Their ridiculous "code" comes before the life of innocent children in their eyes. They're not worth a damn.

Was wondering if you could look into the case of Jessica Patel, a case which has largely been ignored but covers a lot of themes such as domestic violence, the honour based system in Asian culture and the husbands repressed gay feelings and his cheating on her throughout the marriage which led to her murder

I've watched a ton of True Crime episodes, true not all yours Emma although I have to tell you, you are the most compassionate person I have ever watched cover these crimes. This one got me, pretty much from the go, I have never cried during any crime show I've watched, and I watch a LOT! This one made typing near impossible. I cried so many times I feared shorting out my laptop. Thank you for being the incredible compassionate most honest woman I have ever not met but wish I could. 99% of my time is spent on true crime episodes. God BLESS you and Dusted, y'all cover all these stories with so much compassion, honesty and so humanely. Must be why my eyes are still wet. Be well dear Lady.

Emma, when you showed us the picture of the teddy bear made out of Olivias pyjamas I just broke. The shortened name Liv means “life” in my Scandinavian language and is therefore directly translated into “My Life” on the bears foot. Calling someone “my life” is a strong term of endearment and that really, really got me thinking of what the family went through. Great video and thank you for talking about these cases♥️
I truly hope prison for cashman is hell. He is such a spinless little coward.
It won't be he's protected even down to the decision to keep him on strangeways and not walton to keep him out of liverpool. He was kept on medical throughout his remand now he's in isolation so doesn't come out with the others he's got guards with him at all times. Even his food is eaten in his cell and is served sealed so can't be contaminated by anyone. Its an absolute joke.

I have been having a hard time mentally the last few days. I couldn't get my emotions in check and for the last 5 days I have hidden away from the world in my room. I had to pause this for a few minutes. I had a whole range of emotions flood through me but I kept watching. I finally broke down completely for the last 20 minutes after seeing @Emma Kenny water up and then wipe away a tear. I had to wipe tears away a few times just trying to write this. I can always count on @Emma Kenny to help me actually get my head on strait. Much thanks to you and to Pete. I love you both my Sister and Brother

How anyone could stand by someone such as this blows my mind. You said it perfectly Emma. They are still breathing. They are able to see him, talk to him. They are able to disagree with your take on this case. That poor beautiful little girl will never have any of those luxuries because of that vile excuse of a human being. That they think they owe some sort of allegiance to each other but have no regard for an innocent, it is so pathetic. The woman who testified, she is brave yes , but also doing what was just basic decency. For that she needs protection. What are society we live in.
Yep, its a problem though. I was witness to a shooting about 15 years ago. Never told a soul, as I knew by the look of them with a brand new black 4x4, tinted windows passing long gun shaped parcels to another car that they were not people to cross. Unless they gave me a new life under a witness protection scheme, i was never going forward, even if they shot 20 people. I have my own kids, and could not put them at risk.

all I can truly say to you Emma is that I am so grateful that you allow us to see that emotion in you. I'm thankful you don't hide it. I struggle with letting people see me cry. I grew up in abuse so it's not something that comes easy to me. but everytime you get emotional over a case it makes feeling seem okay. like I shouldn't feel ashamed if I cry about something.

I have watched and read about this case, I heard and felt your Voice breaking Emma as you were describing Olivia's wound, as a Mum myself now I can understand when my Mum used to say to me when I was younger "you will understand when you become a parent" It's gut renchingly heartbreaking to read/watch about any child's murder, I am shocked that it happened in Liverpool 😱😭 💚

Scouser here and have to say Emma, you have told this story so well and informed me of so much more of what actually happened. Thank you for mentioning how Liverpool is a close community. We really do come together and this particular crime was the most heartbreaking ever. My daughter was 9 at the time, and she heard the stories about what had happened to the point where she was asking me how poor Olivia died because she was scared aswell. It truly is a parent's worst nightmare 💔
