Take as long as you need. You’re a father first and pilot second. This community will support you and we look forward to this world trip.
I appreciate that TN, thank you.
I also echo these sentiments. Take your time, Stef. I like watching your aviation videos regardless of where you are.
So many incredible comments on this video, thank you all. This is such a generous, motivating, and supportive community, I'm so proud to be here with you all. I wish you all a peaceful and positive day. Onwards and upwards, stef 🙏
Would you fly through Japan if you do the around the world trip? I would love to meet you and EYZ
Oshkosh is just amazing… too bad you can’t get here
Hey, by then junior pilot might even be able to join you for a bit or all of it.
aww Stef, seeing you get emotional about it made me tear up a bit. Just think mate, another 2+ years of adventures at home and learning that will make the trip, whenever it happens, all the more enjoyable and special. Got a couple of junior pilots of my own, and they are only young once so enjoy it while you can. I look forward to seeing the trip, the when isnt important!
Thank you renbren, enjoy your time with your JPs as well.
As someone who's in their final year of Aussie school: I absolutely love and respect your decision. Putting family first is always 100% the right call and I know that 'Junior Pilot' will adore and appreciate your decision.
Thanks for all the content you provide, and entertainment! I'll keep coming back here when I have gaps in my study. :)
Stef you owe us nothing. Even when you think you have somehow failed you've shown us the right thing to do, that is as others have said, put family first. Best to you are your family 😃👍
Good on you Stef for putting your family first! Very important time in you and your daughter's life. Enjoy, and fly when you can.
The most important skill in flying is good aeronautical decision making. And it isn't only about the weather or being tired or sick. It is also about making sure one enjoys the flight. Great decision Stef and no need at all to apologize. Happy flying !
You don't owe anyone an explanation for doing or not doing something, other then to yourself! I started with the "Nothing went wrong" episode and I found it much more fascinating then most of the "everything went wrong" aviation vids, because, after all, it was just about flying! I then watched your around Victoria and your various "around" Australia trips and I have to say, these are probably the reason why I stuck around.
I look forward to where ever your adventure takes you! Thanks for sharing!
When you are ready for your around the world adventure we will be with you! In the meantime we will enjoy any and all videos you post. Thanks Stefan, I look forward to seeing your posts every week.
I have kids aged 25 - 16. I totally understand your decision. Looking forward to whatever content you are able to generate as I always enjoy.
It makes so much sense, Stef. Don't get down on yourself about it. Take however long you need - I'm happy to wait (I'm sure other viewers feel the same). I've been a subscriber for six years and you're content never disappoints, no matter what you're doing or where you're flying. Blue skies to you!
Take all the time you need! No rush needed.
No worries, I'll be patiently waiting.👍🏼
Stef, the trip is for you foremost, and this community will always be there on any trip. I've been a huge fan since 2019 and can't wait for whatever is next :)
Totally understand Stefan, its a massive decision and a massive commitment. Hopefully in 2 years, the world will be a bit calmer for you too!!!!!!!
Yeah I hope so, been a turbulent few years for a lot of people. Thanks b120.
I love the content, Stefan, and appreciate all the openness. Family comes first in all things!
Edit: I hope to get to OSH next year too. Hope to see you there.
If I do get to Osh I'll see if we can do something with the community at the Garmin tent one year. I always love chatting to fellow aviation lovers. Hope to see you there too.
I have been flying vicariously through you, and have loved all your videos. This one tore at my heart as you felt you were letting us viewers down, when you are absolutely doing the right thing. Thanks for being such a good Dad and a lovely man. I shall still be liking your videos in 2 years time.
👍✅ You are the best Stef, we are with you whatever, wherever even if you don't post for a long time. Take care man and be you!
I've been following you for a long time, and to hear you say how important it is to be a father first and a CZcamsr and pilot second is HUGE. Thank you for setting the example for how everyone should be. I'll be here in 2026 to cheer you on, and if you happen to make a stop near me I'll definitely come say hi. Maybe I'll have my license by then! You should bring junior pilot with you on the RTW trip! Father-daughter trip to celebrate her accomplishment of being done with what we in the US call "high school"?
No worries mate!! Take as long as you need, you have to wait until it feels right to you!! We enjoy every video that you post, so please keep them coming!!
As a parent of 2 children doing year 11 and 12 at the moment I 100% agree with your decision. Well done for putting your family first and good luck to Junior Pilot over 2024-25 There will be ups and downs, I'm sure it will super stressful at times but you will all nail it together. Great Work Stef and look forward to watching all your upcoming adventures
Stefan, you don't own us anything, just enjoy your life, family, aviation, etc. Anything you put here is a bonus and a motivation for us to also continue flying, even if it's just to practice circuits around the local airfield, its all good 😃
I am in full support of your decision and wise indeed, I look forward to you flying around the world in 2026.
Young ones do need their parents in their formative and milestone years. Can't wait to see those videos in 2026 though.
I can't wait to make those videos for this amazing community, and many more between now and then. Thanks for the support.
I can only speak for myself but I'm here for the content, whatever that is. You don't owe anyone an apology, in my opinion, for wanting to prioritise family over everything else. This channel remains a fascinating and inspirational look at a world I'll likely never experience for real.
Stef, WHEN you fly around the world, well all be happy to follow along. If you make a stop in Germany, let me know!
But more importantly: Do it for yourself. Do it because YOU want to do it. That will make it the trip we'll all enjoy together with you.
Please don't force it for the content. As you said, your family is more important right now.
Take all the time you need.
Its nice to see a father who knows what is important. The world will still be there in 2026 and so will your Junior Pilot. She will be all the better for her fathers commitment to her. If anyone gives you grief, smile and ignore them, they don't know their ear from their arse.
Oh my precious heart. Are you really the only person in the world who doesn't know that it doesn't matter to anyone but you and your family when/if you fly around the world? You're flying around the world everytime EYZ takes to the skies, and you share it with us. Believe.
Well done Stef! Good choice! Family is most important. Thanks for your content
You don’t owe us anything! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching your content and am grateful for it as I’ve learned a great deal. I can’t count the number of trips I’ve postponed over the years because of work and now, as a new father, family commitments. Thank you.
I have so much respect for you. You are putting your family first. ❤
Fully understand your situation Stefan, as many here already said... take as long as you need, we'll be here to watch the adventure if that ever happens, if not... don't worry! You do whatever feels better for you, that's all that matters in the end 👌
Family first Stef, we only have our children for a short time & before we know it they have grown into young adults & are leaving home to start their own life. The song “The Cat & the Cradle” really hits home for me.
You and your wife watching your your co-pilot grow the next few years is what it’s all about. Once she is well on her way on her journey you can go on yours! We will be watching and supporting you all the way Stefan. Can’t wait for more great content!
Very understandable and very well said! Family is always No.1!
I love your vids. You are probably the most honest CZcamsr on this whole platform. That is what is amazing. Also I'm waiting for the next announcement lol
Haha, no I promised NO MORE ANNOUNCEMENTS.... but you'll love this Thursday's video... 😂
Shure
Fellow aviator and father - right decision. You have the rest of your life to fly. Kids only grow up once.
You are doing what any good father would do. No one can fault you for that. You are NOT letting us down because we understand that family ALWAYS comes first.
As so many have said, a perfect decision in my view. As a father myself, your daughter is at a key point in her life and of course, you want to be there for her I totally get that. I can't believe anyone would be disappointed in your decision. Life happens and we'll be here for when you do do it. I'm looking forward to the content between now and then. I just finished catching up on your artic circle series and it was fantastic!
Good decision Stef👍family first, just keep on posting videos they are all bloody good and do the Round The World trip when you are ready don’t worry about anybody else,I guarantee 95% of your viewers will still be here.Quality always stay at the top🍻
Where ever you fly, you are interesting to watch. No pressure. We'll be there to watch you fly.
I think that's the perfect decision. Your daughter is WAY more important than pretty well anything else. It's always just nice to enjoy your aviation adventures.
As a student pilot who eventually wants to fly from US to my home country of Belarus, and having his 4 y/o daughter, I can only support your decision. Yes, you want things to happen faster than they are happening in your life, but this is life, man. You live it, you get to enjoy it, and at the right time that it right for you. Thank you!
Stef, there is nothing wrong with making decisions like this. You will never regret putting your family first. They are your priority first and foremost, I am a father I know. No one on this side of the screen will love you any less for it, or be disinterested in your Chanel. You have made a good pilot decision, be happy with that .🙏👍🇦🇺
Best decision you could have made. I missed too much of my kids so it is important. I think whatever content you put out will meet the needs of your followers. There are still flying adventures around this big brown land that will feed our appetite for all things aviation 👍
We do miss seeing you appear in Wisconsin at Oshkosh. It's in the mid-nineties and humid and haze and smoke so you're not missing much that way! Look forward to seeing you when you do get a chance to come up here! Since around the world is delayed, maybe 2024 for an aviation adventure to Osh? Family first !!! Blue skies!
Family comes before everything else! Your Chanel is one of the best in GA world trip or not your videos are still high quality and good.
I appreciate that MAC, thank you.
Family and self are very important Stef. You go and fly around the world but only when you are ready.I will wait and fly with you on this channel, all the best Stef.
Kids are the MOST important part of our lives!! Respect!! Dad lives matter!!
Awesome Video Stef and pushing back a awesome experience like this to focus on Junior Pilot is definitely the right move. We only get to enjoy watching our kids grow up once and these last two years in high school are as us Dads know pretty full on. So with that will be here in 2026 waiting for you to start :-) maybe we can all wave from teh airport as you depart mate and then be back for when you get back. I reckon with just under 3 years to plan we have just about enough time to organize an absolute monster farewell & then welcome back party for you mate. Keep up the awesome videos because as a plane spotter and lover of all things aviation you & the boys at Sydsquad are my two Fav Aussie content providers.
Well played Stef. Being a Dad is the most important part of your life. Rejoice in your decision and enjoy the ride. Oh and by the way, good luck to “Junior Pilot” in her most important journey also. 👍
Not watching you to see you going around the world, I'm watching you to see someone enjoying aviation. If flying around the world makes you happy, I'll gladly watch. Goals are important. Seeking goals gives an added element to our enjoyment. Love flying and traveling with you. Good on ya mate...whatever makes you happy. Life is too flippin short to stress over what a bunch of blokes need to see to watch your channel. (Hope I got that right...trying to speak Aussie when I'm a native Texan speaker may have lost something in translation...bcnu.)
Hey Stef, as a dad anyone that arc's up about that announcement is a goose, i choofed of to Europe when my Daughter was doing VCE and i still feel like traitor , and that was 14 years ago. Well done you i'll definitely keep watching.
Thank you for bringing a bit of humility back to an often cynical online world. It's why I choose to follow along with you. I'll eagerly await your Atlantic crossing in the state of Maine U.S. In the meantime, enjoy the family milestones! Much Love
Absolutely love this announcement. Family is really important. Plus doing more ground work on the trip can’t hurt.
Mate, i follow you because i love aviation, keep the content and people will watch, no matter if u do a round the world trip or not we will support your channel.
As a Dad of two grown children - definitely the right decision. Being a pilot is all about making good decisions and you did great.
Aviation 101 is a great channel that will have good Oshkosh content. Family first always! Post it and we will watch.
Hey brother, I totally agree with your decision to focus on your family rather than making the rounds a world trip. We will definitely be waiting for the flight, but family definitely should come first. I’ve been there with my own daughter, and trust me, your daughter really need you these last two years of what I would call high school. It was really important for my daughter, and I am glad that I was there for her as well. Who knows, by the time you do your flight, maybe I would’ve had my own airplane by then, and I can meet you somewhere! Anyway, fly, well, and great decision!
One thing to consider, when jr pilot graduates and you are there beaming, feeling good, maybe think about taking her along. WHat an education she would get. Imagine the memories built. Flying around the world should not be some record-breaking goal (which I don't think it is with you), but something that stays with you for life. Sharing that experience with your daughter...best graduation present you could give her.
Smooth skies
You never ever ever need to apologise for putting your family over your content. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us Stef!
I love the honest rawness of your emotions mate, you will never disappoint me. I will look forward to all of your content for many years to come.
Hey Stef, I’m sure I’m not alone in saying, we don’t subscribe due to one proposed trip. Your content is quality content and hearing your reasons for delaying your trip is the very reason why your channel is popular and why I continue to subscribe. Being a father of a similarly aged daughter, I feel a real affinity for your choice. You are correct, they are precious moments, and moments that will require the support of both parents. So don’t feel guilty mate! I think the old adage ‘plan your flight and fly your plan’ can be extended beyond aviation in this case!😊 Look forward to more local content till 2026…with you all the way!
That was obviously a very hard decision for you to make. It is completely understandable ! I cannot wait for all the amazing content that is to come for the next few years whilst you prepare for this amazing adventure that is to come. I have followed you here on CZcams for a few years and will continue to until the day you decide to stop. Many thanks for the honesty and the overall high standard of quality you put into each video. If you even want to fly in France (Brittany to be more precise), hit me up ! All the best, Joachim.
Family first.. Always buddy... The big adventure can wait...
Stef. You do not need to apologize to your audience, that you prioritize your family. We, your audience, are just guests in your live. Your family always comes first. It is an indicator of great airmen-ship NOT to fly, if circumstances are unfavorable. The world does not go away. The most important years with your daughter do. Don't miss them.
👍👍👍love your vids
Mate; we watch this channel because you do cool things and tell awesome stories about doing them. Continue to do cool things and we'll continue to watch. Enjoy your time with JP and make sure you're head is focused on the most important mission.
The best thing I love about flying on my own coin is that I decide if I'm in the right frame of mind to fly. RtW is not the time to have get-there-itis.
Family ALWAYS comes first & is more important than everything else. Good call! The world will wait, but family can’t.
Father to father- you’re killing it. We will wait brother. Take all the time you need.
I come here for your cool content and adventures. Be cool to see a round the world trip but heck I don’t care if it next week or next millennium. Whatever content you gracefully share from your life we appreciate and enjoy. Do what is right for you and not for us. If you lose a few subs because you aren’t doing the trip soon enough for people then who cares. Rest of us like you for your personality and content and we are privileged that you share your life and family with us. Thank you. We appreciate you. 🙏😊
We’re here for the long term , not just the quick wins 😃 This channel is about your aviation life , not just one story 😃🍻
Stef, quite frankly you don't "owe" us anything. We've come and stayed here for the glimpses into the aviation world that you're willing to provide. Be it you taking us for a trip in EYZ or your success getting yourself invited by companies for "Behind the Scenes" tours which you then tend to share with us.
You making the decision that you want to be there for Junior Pilot while she's going through her last years of school before she might head out into the big open world for studies or whatever her plans might be just shows that you're a caring father and human being.
A very honest post today, well done. Family first I put my flying lesson off for 47 years and 47 now so hopefully one day I get the chance to fully my dreams to
Man Don't worry how long it takes. We love the current content take your time. its definitely best to be home with your daughter. I'm going into be going into year 11 next year and i definitely want my parents support so i think you have made the best choice so take all the time you need.
I respect you all the more for prioritizing your family over the channel. Take care of your family first and the rest can wait.
Good on you Stef - Family first, always. As someone who's been following your channel since the early days, we've got plenty of content to look back on until you head overseas!
Stefan, I watch your channel for your interesting content. You don’t have to make this trip and owe no one an apology. As fantastic and interesting a trip like this would be, your family should always come first. No matter, I’ll continue watching! 7-25-23 3:49 CST
Family comes first - always! Great decision!
Round the world announcement - ahh, it's that time of the year again. Never change Stefan, love your stuff.
Sounds like you're making the right decision for them period I just started watching your videos a little while ago and didn't even realize you wanted to fly around the world. I love watching people do that but I would wait until my daughter was graduated and off in the world as well. I'm sure whatever you pose will still be great!
Right decision Stef. Life's very short and kids grow fast. You need time with them during formative years. We all look forward to your vids and wish you well. All the best to you and your family..
Great that you let everyone know what is happening. Your decision is your decision and is therefore exactly the right thing for you. And bugger anyone who thinks otherwise.
Totally understand bud you do you I’ll be we will still be supporting you
Family first. Respect Steph.
family/loved ones>>everything else
wishing you the best; appreciate your content as always
We as viewers will always want more but you have made the right decision
Hey Stef, family first. The future is always unknown but fun to contemplate.....Thanks for your videos..🤙
Stef right decision. Life is about compromise and here is a great example. It is also my dream to fly around the world but I woukd love to do it with the family. Not a young man - 49 - but a young pilot so the journey has begun as it were. You will very likely beat me to it so am REALLY looking forward to the adventure. Great things come to those that wait etc. Seriously hoping you will have a long form version that will go a long way in helping those of us that are keen to emulate you.
Will be glued to all your content up to and beyond the world trip whenever that may be!
Stef! Making calls like this is part of being a great aviator! I've enjoyed this channel for years and would continue to watch even if the trip never happens. Love your Australian outback adventures and general positive outlook on aviation. Hope you enjoyed your time off.
Take your time Steph. Only do it when you feel ready and can do it with your family! :)
All about priorities, Number Uno - FAMILY, the rest is secondary, so the trip will happen when it happens, keep up the good work!
You’ve made a wise and mature decision, and are setting an excellent example for Jnr Pilot (and all of your followers online!) on the importance of balancing work-life harmony in light of competing demands. We’ll all gain something positive from your courage on this call, and look forward to watching your new adventures unfold over the next couple of years.
Thanks Stef for feeling safe to share this news. Looking forward to the build up in the years to come!! Keep up the great content!!!!
Good to see you back, Stef.
Good choice! Family first.
Family always comes first....irrespective. Do it when you're ready, you're not under any obligation, at least from me. Stay safe and enjoy your flying.
Glad to hear you are committed to doing this trip AND giving your daughter the attention and support she needs! Keep up the great work!
Your a bloody legend in my books mate.
Thanks for the update Stef, 100% right decision! Plus as a fan, subscriber and vicariously living my life as private pilot through your videos, I love the short and sweet flying adventures you take...flying around the world is best done in 1st class!
Absolutely understandable, you don't get those moments again, especially a Graduation, so would be devastating if you missed that. Keep the work up Stef, you motivate and inspire all of us to get out and have our own adventures. Also congrats on 130K subs!
