This video shows how to reduce a dislocated shoulder in seconds. Using this technique this shoulder can be reduced anywhere without any need for drugs, sedation or anesthesia
Sir, this is a wonderful technique which can be supplemented with few more details to make it even more easier- 1) Sitting in front of the patient and using your left hand to give traction at the elbow for a left sided dislocation. 2) Patient sits on a stool with back rested on a wall and instructed to keep his back straight. 3) A bed sheet passed through affected side axilla to provide counter traction directed towards opposite shoulder. This works every time, even for 1st traumatic episodes.
Muchas gracias por sus videos Dr. , siguen mejorando mi práctica ortopedia diaria. No deje de enseñar y compartir con el mundo su experiencia y conocimiento. Un afectuoso abrazo desde Chihuahua, Mexico.
this is actually kocher method. you can learn it by the mnemonic TEAR. T for traction with elbow 90 degree flexed, E for external rotation, A for adduction towards the chest, R for rotation internally. after external rotation hold it for minute. that is it
Hello dear colleague, was local anesthesia used? In Russia, this method is called Kocher. A wonderful demonstration and result! I will be looking forward to new videos
Oohh, this is my desirable manuever, have reduced countless anterior shoulder dislocations employing it. It works greatly with chest in anterior extension. Thnx alot Dr
Sir Good method and Thanks for your Demo I have reduced many, with patient sitting on the bed, myself sitting on a chair, with one hand Gradual External Rotation holding at wrist and other hand over elbow and gentle axial traction will reduce quickly and better way with less pain without any analgesia.
Good morning sir . Thanks for demonstration of this method . I have reduced anterior dislocation of shoulder by this manoeuvre many times .in opd hours. Thanks
When u were put this video I was very happy I know method because I learn from you & my expectation will Dr.vinay sir demonstration this in future & you do thank you first credit vinay sir second legendary Dr L prakash sir thank you both of teachers
Sir kocher maneuver already described says same. External rotation till one feels resistance ,adduction and then internal rotation. Dr L prakash says same in sitting position. With kocher maneuver i reduced more than 30 dislocations without anesthesia. It's what I felt sir.
Hello doctor! How long before you decide to move to the second and third maneuver? After 1 minute immediately without reduction we move to adduction? Then 1 minute after move to internal rotation? Also do we do the 2nd and 3rd maneuver slowly similar to the 1st? Thank you for all the rich knowledge to be found in your channel!
Great sir , I have also tried l P sirs technique it s very simple and easy sir thank you for detailed video sir Sir can we use it for neglected ant dislocation in aged osteoporotic patients ????
Sir many times after abduction ,and external rotation it doesn't reduce... patient contract his muscle or because paitent is not relax ...that time should be give some sedation?! Or start second attempt
@1:29 - poor guy just sitting there while a guy is saying that he won't get any meds or pain relief and is forced to act like he's not in pain . you can see the tachypnoea
When sir vinay kumar approves something it becomes a protocol...much respect from pakistan and thank you sir

The beauty of the technique is that there is no traction or counter taction. It also doesn't need any form of analgesia.
It worked every time … this is very effective in ER thank u sir

Looks like a variation on kochers method (where the patient is supine). Here the patient is seated.
Yes
Been using this technique for last 7 years.. very good results.. i do it in supine..
Great 👍
BRAVO 🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏
Thank you
Thanks for explanation, how much can a rotational force like this method cause a fracture of humerus(probability)?
Upto 90 degrees but gentle

Yes wait for at least a minute. If you wait long then it usually reduces in external rotation
What about the pt having ant dislocation with supracondylar fr of humerus
Then fix the supracondylar fracture and then reduce
Sir l prakash technique sounds better than drug feed awake shoulder technique
Yes
Never failed with the prakash method. That's the workhorse nowadays
Thank you
Sir please make a video on lisfranc injury surgical treatment.

of this maneuver; The only difference from the Kocher maneuver is that it is performed while sitting.
And no traction
Dear Dr. Vinay were you working before in EPSOM & St, HELLIER university hospital Surrey ?? if am not wrong ?
Yes how do you know?
Can someone please explain how is this different from Kochers technique?
There is no analgesia, no traction or counter traction, the patient is sitting but I agree it's a Kocher with a slight modification.
I think the same as kocher method except the time

Adding sedation is not a crime😊
@1:29 - poor guy just sitting there while a guy is saying that he won't get any meds or pain relief and is forced to act like he's not in pain . you can see the tachypnoea
This is the best treatment these patients can get.
No drugs, no sedation, no traction and in no time they are pain-free
The patient in this video has had fits and his arm is in internal rotation, so did he hsve pisterior dislocation?
It was anterior
@@DrVinayKumarSingh thank you sir!!
Sir, is this method for both anterior and posterior dislocations?
For anterior
@@DrVinayKumarSingh thank you sir!
