Home will always be home for me, growing up I hated living in Kent and wanted out of the area so I did! But Lockdown taught me I was so eager to run away from my issues, and family and friends are important to me. I can’t wait for the day to move back Chatham maybe a shithole but it’s my shithole
Been away 15 years - took my wife and daughter to my “home” last summer and it didn’t feel good walking that high street again. Not the place for my wife and daughter. I didn’t feel safe for them being there.
Loved this ... Thank you (pretty dead them streets it was like 28Days later!!)
I was born in 1972 All Saints Luton and lived in Luton till 2001 (moved to Rainham) sad to see ALL my fav shops from 80s/90s gone, ghosts.
ABC Cinema Pats Sweet shop, Chatham Market, Allders, Woolworths, Our Price records, Pockets Pool rooms, Blueberry Park sandwich bar,the vinyl shop opposite Argos, Image Clothing , the amusement arcade bottom of Manor Rd
All long gone, memories only now, and the memories are sweet
Thanks for watching, glad you liked the video, the streets were probably dead due to a lockdown or covid restrictions, and yes many shops are gone the latest one being Argos
OMG!!Was just thinking about Blueberry Park!!😂Used to go for my lunch there most days when I worked at Lloyds insurance in the Pentagon? My fav sandwich was the Guacamole with crispy bacon!!😂😋My dad also part of the building gang that built the roof of the Pentagon backin the day!!Am 55 now and miss Chatham like mad.😥😁
A walk I often do. It's surprising how different it looks on video. Thank you for this video.
I can't lie you have somehow managed to glamorize Chatham. I live in Wainscott and work in Chatham so here very frequently
Lived in Chelmar Road near Luton Arches in 1996, now I'm in South Africa. It brought back memories.
It just refreshed my memory.. what a place to leave , spent very valuable time thr
Nice video, still looks the same from when I lived there 40 years ago.
Thank you for this video. I grew up in the area and now live in Canada. Miss it, believe it or not
So much has changed not the same shame but time moves on I was born in chatham but not my home town anymore.
Remember sitting at the paddock where the buses turned round and watching them building the Pentagon, used to be so many great old independent book and record shops and cafes and pubs before everything was demolished to build that pile of rubbish, the offices over the top were always empty because the rents were too high
Great video , be interesting how the same walk would look in ten years time .
Thank you, it would probably be pretty much the same
Loved watching this especially the Sun Pier part. I felt like I was walking in the scenes. I have never been to the UK so it was a great experience. Thanks for posting.
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching 👍
@@klfproductions1445 I am now in the UK. I have been on the Chatham high street multiple times. The first time I went, I knew exactly where to go for what I needed thanks to your video ☺️
@@klfproductions1445 is it true that they are building a UK Disneyland in Chatham?
@@michellea9857Billy the Quid land might be more likely.
I used to work in Chatham in the late 70s. It hasn't changed that much, compared to other towns.
Will have to revisit again soon.
Was this filmed early morning?
Yes around 8.30, before it got too busy
I'm 15 I've lived in Chatham my whole life and it looks so much different on video
it looks better bro
Sun pier should be spelt sunn pier after the ship the sunn
Point of this video is??
Great video! My company are looking for a local film maker to work on an exciting new project in the centre of Chatham. Would you be interested in discussing the project?
Avoid Chatham High street at all cost. Three men attempted to mug me at ten o’clock one Tuesday morning. I was saved by a bank worker who saw it happening.
Sonn pier that should read AND NOT SUN PIER
Boring
