This video was released around a year ago on EckhartsLadder as a collab. I've published it here for two reasons. 1. So anyone who missed it can watch it. 2. To prepare you all for a upcoming video of the layout of the autumn and a suggested rework of her layout to remain within the confines of her hull and be more canonically accurate.
Installation00 you should do one on the Punic or epoch
Mitchell 105 I’d support that
You should also do the banished dreadnought
Pillar of Autumn: *Loses 90% of hull integrity*
Pillar of Autumn: “Tis but a scratch”
Comet5551 *Litterally gets split in half*
I’ll fookin hav yah
Kian Its just a flesh wound
Loses*
Mjölnir ah yes, my spelling is still crap, thanks for picking up on that
Pifft.. She's had worse.
90% hull loss? LUXURY! That's if you were lucky!
I'm an avionics technician and I listen to these videos often while I'm working in a plane and man it just releases my inner imagination. My favorite thing about Halo Lore is how descriptive the technology is.
That's awesome.
"What are you doing here Autumn ?!
-Sir, bringing a sh**loads of hurt for the enemy..."
You know, 1 AM, work in about 4 hours, I can watch this
"Yeah. I got time" 😂
@@tristanbackup2536 37 and a half minutes? I still got time.
*For all those who gave their lives defending Earth and her colonies.*
I remember this episode. It was the episode that introduced me to your channel in the first place.
thanks to exposure from EckartsLadder. Been a Patreon of 00 ever since
Same.
20:44 Let’s hope those MAC guns are fed by LOW impedance conductors. At those power levels the crew would not need to worry about being cooked to death by sustained enemy plasma rounds if they where high impedance as nearly all the energy being transferred to the MAC guns would be internally dissipated as heat (internally, poor crew!) and nearly all the energy lost before you ever launched the round if the conductors were HIGH impedance (not to mention, the voltage requirements would be enormous since very few amps could be pushed through at a high impedance)! When it comes to linear magnetic accelerators you want as low an impedance as you can achieve so that you can discharge all the energy you have at each stage as rapidly as possible at the precise moment you need it.
I should’ve picked that up last time I read the books...
Maybe that was before my apprenticeship tho
The most ambitious crossover between an incorporeal voice made of silk and a doge who in his spare time is a DJ.
Ah yes, the very same video that made me a life long subscriber of Installation00.
U.N.S.C. Pillar of Autumn II :Electric Boogaloo.
How has no-one said this before me?
The quality of your content and the quality of your production are unparalleled, I hope that people take note of this when they try to make subpar Halo videos in the future. You truly are one of the standards in the community, and Eckhart's Ladder deserves just as much respect as you.
He is an inspiration to us all
Let's not forget the Pillar of Autumn's most crucial feature.
The genius/reckless tactician Captain Jacob Keyes
Absolutely perfect timing on this one, I just beat CE on legendary today
First time? If so, good job, you've defeated frustration itself. :)
DidWeMakeIt that would be halo 2 on legendary. That’s either frustration or hell itself.
@@nightwing2032 *Cries at the memories of sniper jackals*
@@DidWeMakeIt The Library was... Traumatic, to say the least
Vallorn and the brutes on legendary as well.
I can not imagine how so much details can be produced on a fictional ship that had only one requirement when it was 3D modeled... It had to look cool, Somewhat like the Sulaco in Aliens.
I think I mentioned in the Halcyon class breakdown, but when you reference the forward mess and forward cryo, you say 'officers' of grade E7 and higher. E7, along with the other 'E' designated ranks, are all Enlisted ranks. E7, Chief Petty Officer, is a non-commissioned officer (E4 and above) and an enlisted sailor. Officer ranks are designated 'O', O1 (Ensign) thru O10 (Admiral). There IS an O11, though that rank is Fleet Admiral of the Navy, and a situational rank that is normally not present.
Safety Note: Do NOT call a Chief 'Sir'.
MythicFool Chief is Chief. And don’t you forget it :)
Chief is a chief. Call him sir. Last guy who didnt had his rocket launcher taken away and was given a pistol.
It's the UNSC, not the US military. Every superior officer commission or otherwise, male & female, must be be called sir.
@@tristanbackup2536 Amazing! I always knew we'd figure out time travel? So when did you get back from 2552? What's it like to fight against the covenant? I'd love to get more of your knowledge about the inner workings of the UNSC, as you are clearly much more qualified than the rest of us.
@@jamesharvey3993
No need to be a smarta*se.
It's litterly in the lore across some games & Halo 4: Foward Unto Dawn mini-series, just have to look real hard enough. Five centuries from now, the english language & military culture has likely adopted sir or ma'am as gender-neutral/ interchangeable words & referring to anyone above rank of you. This simplifies things for everyone across different cultural planetary backgrounds.
the Virgin 10 minute "lore" video VS the Chad half hour long breakdown
A double upload at the dead of night? My favorite!
I love how you say it could be done by a human for slip space calculations and I’m just like Halsey she’s is one of the only ones who could do it. Great video.
It's math. In theory anyone who understands the calculations could do it. Halsey can definitely do it fast enough to make it useful.
M P true. Most people it would simply take to long to do them any good lol. I would simply stick to an AI myself lol.
It’s not a matter of whether a human can do the calculations it’s whether the calculations can be done by a human in a timely fashion.
Jacob Keyes was told to do it by an AI as part of some joke, the AI was surprised how close he got.
I think it took him like 12 hours though
This is what got me subscribing to your channel I loved this video when you first put it out.
Two videos at once? Nice.
This was the very first episode of yours that I watched, awesome breakdown....
Came for the Autumn, stayed for the Armory
Your work is always top-notch, and I'm happy that you're working with Eckhart's ladder. :-)
Oh yea this is sick!! Also I believe HiddenXperia may or may not be looking to do something colab related
*In short:* The Pillar of Autumn is an upgraded Halcyon-Class Cruiser that holds a total of 6,000 UNSC troops and has much sturdier hull plating than the default Halcyon-Class Cruisers which hold a total of 4,000 - 5,000 UNSC troops on board. The Marathon-Class Cruisers hold a total of 2,000 - 3,000 UNSC troops.
*In conclusion:* It's really cool to think that the UNSC has come this far developing ships such as Light Frigates which hold 100 - 150 UNSC troops, to the almighty UNSC Infinity which can hold just above 17,000 UNSC troops.
Please make a video; "Most Detailed Breakdown -Autumn Class" Thanks!
YES YES YES please keep uploading videos from the most detailed series..!
I love this vid so much, I started watching your channel because of this collaboration
Hay, Strange idea, butt, if you ever need a video idea...
The age of all surving Spartan 2's.
Don't ask why.
you dirty man! youve been watching to much anime
@@electrohalo8798 First of all:
Ima chick.
Secondly,...
That's not the reason, nor where I got my idea from.
I was just...
Fuck!
You got me..
Heh. You said butt.
Good vid.
The bit at 34:00 about the reverse mounted thrusters would make Newton spin in his grave though. To stop an object in space requires the equal amount of energy it took to get it up to that speed. So to stop the POA after an hours full burn would require her to flip over 180degrees and perform a full burn for an hour. To stop her with these things it would probably take days of thrust. Much more likely those engines would be used to bleed off some speed when doing combat manoeuvrers or even to allow the ship to do a 180 turn very quickly.
Not necessarily, it depends on their ISP, the main engines of the Autumn could have a low ISP but burn very long and efficiently like an ion drive. As he says these are rockets, they would have a very large ISP and slow the ship quickly.
Very good detailed video, and even down to science. Nice.
I look forward to a similar video on humanity's most advanced ship and intended lifeboat for the species, the Infinity.
Just wanted to say your content is amazing! Was wondering if you could do a video on the armor/equipment used by the UNSC Army/Marine Corps?
I love it when you break down the ships.
Another great video about a beast of a ship re-release or no it's damn good
I thought those e"emergency" thrusters were the UNSC warship equivalent of JATO boosters.
lmao the keyboard at the cryo center has a dedicated o_O button 17:59
Hey this is the video that introduced me to your channel
Yooooo eckharts and installation00 collab? Badass!!!
god your ship vids are much better than Spacedocks
The Ultimate Mama Bear
I've beem wondering what is happening with the vid about the paranormal/extra-dimensional theories in our world would link to the domain in the Halo universe. 😂
super underated channels
Great video
Cortana? All I needed to know is did we lose them?
Man the scale issues for all UNSC ships bothers me too much.
That cutscene where Pelicans are docking from space points that out so badly. A single damn Longsword looks like it would take up 25% of the ship at that scale. lol
did you just post two videos in the span of two minutes?
Think this was posted on another channel previously as part of a collab
Yeah this was posted a while back on Eckharts channel for a collab
Ah yes the video that started it all for me and this amazing channel and how I might feel about this video you might ask well I'll answer it with a fairly famous quote from Halo " from the beginning, you know the end"
00 do u have a spartan 1 and 1.1 video in the works or think of doing one
I know I already shared a weapon idea, but here's another. Low velocity Spartan Accelerators. Basically pack them in a disposable casing/housing/armature like a sabot or railgun projectile. Then you fire them at high (but survivable) speeds at ships or for atmospheric insertions.
Hello love your videos
I still liked the video. The Halcyon class is on of my favorite science fiction spaceship. If I was given the option to choose a ship, I would have my ship be a Halcyon class like the Piller of Autumn, or an Autumn class.
I'd probably choose the Autumn class since it's built from the start to be at least as mean as the Pillar.
Same
I just can't get over how hilarious it is that so much of our electricity was generated through steam power. Fossil fuels? Burn it to heat water, then drive a turbine with the steam. Nuclear power? Engineers: "steam turbine go brrrr." Fusion power? Steam turbine go brrrr. Some types of solar power? Steam turbine go brrrr.
Like we split the atom, soon we might be able to fuse the atom, and all these engineers are like "cool, let's hook it up to a steam turbine!" I get there isn't really a viable alternative, but it's just mind boggling that we are still generating electricity the same way they did almost a century ago, just with different heat sources.
Ah yes, the "Calendar of August"
With you re-uploading vids, will you do the same for the Ancient Humans or upload new Ancient Human vids?
Hey man I’m a fan of both channels and are subbed. I left a comment on your last flood video and I wanted to know if you could really look into it because i feel like I’m onto an interesting theory
Slipspace in Halo is literally just a Nether Hub in Minecraft but for Starships.
The two most notable design features to me are the drivable highway down its centre that is so much longer than the Autumn that given the ship’s similarity to the Sulaco, must mean it was designed by James Cameron in collaboration with a Time Lord and the other feature would be Linda’s utterly ridiculous helmet. Both are striking features, indeed!
(343 should be banned from designing helmets or judging by the amount of devices, crenellations, screws, bolts and grooves on their helmets and guns, their designers have WAY too much time on their hands!)
Can you do a most detailed breakdown on Stargate ships? Hatak? Alkesh? Asgard Ships? Etc....
2 vids at once
*_Y E S_*
I'm modelling the Autumn Class for a fan game me and my friends are making
you couldn't have posted this at a better time :D
wait nvm this was from the Eckharts Ladder vid... still good tho! :D
What?
i love the videos
Can you do the eye of the tempest from books 7&8 of the expanse please also epic vid love the channle
I get that the Pillar of Autumn didn't have time to armor the bridge, but it feels asinine that a ship which would gain fame and notoriety for its ability to tank crazy damage would have an exposed weakspot like that in the original design.
Wait, isn't there a version on Ecks?
This ship was a mystery when it comes to seeing it being slightly big on the outside but way bigger on the side due to all the driving towards a hanger bay, the ship must be very big almost the size of a city but it's impossible. Does size really matters or is like the Tardis from Doctor Who where you go inside a blue box and inside it's the size of the house. But from this clip 6:25 you can see the size of the pelicans and the warthog is smaller but based from the game itself there is an HUGE error when it comes to designing the final mission of the player fighting inside the ship and you understand it's interior is way bigger than the Exterior.
Imagine the carnage if Red Flag actually happened.
what is the tactical/strategial use of nukes in the halo universe on ships that are armed with MACs ?
Id like to refer to that one image that has the warthog run overlayed the pillar of autumn map
Poor one out for the autumn 😢
Great content as usual bud
Could you do a video on the feasibility of slipspace weapons, basically doing what Noble team did, but as a professionally designed weapon? I recall you mentioning that it was a fear of the UNSC that the rebels would impovize ships as weapons themselves, but I'd be curious about complimenting Shivas and Havocs with Fujikawa tipped heavy missiles. Obviously the drives only need to work ling enough too do hideous things to the target, so you could cut costs and mass per unit. You can also throw safety guidelines out the window. And for extra @$$h0l3, set the destination for a star.
@@cancelanime1507 Thanks for responding and clarifying.
ah the video that led me to your channel
Hey, did you happen to notice you can see that bridge that triggers you so much in the Maw cutscene?
Wait, isn't there a version on Eckhartsladder?
You know that song hey jealousy?
Add these lyrics to the beat.
When he says "Hey jealousyy"
Say
"Oh HAW YA DOIN ".
And then when he's all like
"You know that we can drive around this town, and let the cops chase us around"
You just say (INSTEAD)
HOW ARE YA HAW YA HAW YA DO-IN
HOW ARE YA HAW YA HAW YA DOON
HAW YA HAW YA HAW YA DO-IN DO
On the halo 3 map docks there are 2 large aircraft carrier ships that carry pelicans and another aircraft. What do we know on the water based navy in halo lore?
We see the Autumn in dry dock on Reach where is the landing gear? The bits I thought to be supports struts aren't touching the ground in the escape cinematic in Halo Reach. Anyone know? Was hoping it'd be in this video for a model I'm making. :-)
Something that always buged me about uncs ships is that they are absolutely massive and yet they only carry like 10 pelicans. Each pelican can hold 10 infantrymen, and since there were around 2000 of them, it would take a really long time to get them all to a planet's surface
Who needs pelicans when you can just drop Troops from the ship to the surface of any planet? Orbital Drop Pods are Cheaper and you can carry more of them.
The autumn had a mac gun? Sayth waaaaatt!?
An oldy but a goody!
Just image humanity these days copy halo and build these ships. If there was a chance that they need crew and you were invited would you accpect the request? I just want to see people's opinions
Depends if its the infinity then yes anything else maybe not
@@thatrandomeliteultra1158 yeah sure it's your choice of star ship
@@Demon_Snake more like because human ships pre-war and during the war where not the best.
@@cancelanime1507 That's why he said Imagine in the future where we can build spaceships.
Teegan Meyers_Student - WakrForestMS with our current technology, yes, but he specified in the future, when we do have that technology.
Could you add chapters, because CZcams’s auto generated ones are crap
how about a simple petition for a halo film. the cut scenes done by bungie and 343 are amazing and would need to be bought on board for story boards.
Intership transit system implies it allows fast transit between ships. Intra ship is within the autumn itself. Just clarifying cuz I thought you said inter.
What madman dropped their Magnum for an energy pistol?
Only 18 bumblebee lifepods? If I recall correctly, in halo 1, the level Pillar of Autumn, the numbers outside the escape pod tubes went up to at at least 62. Is there a lore mistake maybe?
I'd take The In Amber Clad or Forward Unto Dawn any day.
I’m just gonna act like I understood that he say.
Re-uploading older videos?
Can you do the infinity
3:43
It's been 20 years since halo CE came out but has anyone figured out what "pillar of autumn"actually means?
Arctic it don’t mean much it’s just the name like uss enteprise or has ark toyal

Lol, why does every fictional space missile have fins 🤣. Whatcha doin with those fins buddy! You just flapping around in space like it does something!
