    Thought I'd share a couple of tips I use: before mixing epoxy sculpt or resin pre cut and fit materials first so that you have a bit more working time before the epoxy sculpt or resin sets.
    I always have other pieces beyond the one I'm working on ready so that if I mix to much epoxy sculpt or resin I can use it in the other pre ready pieces. Thanks again.

      Thankyou so much Debbie. They are great tips, sometimes I do precut the pieces if I definitely know what Im doing but more often than not I just wing it but having extra pieces ready to go makes prefect sense if you mix a bit much AS as I tend to do. :)

      @TreasuryRoad  Před 3 lety

      Thankyou very much Judy, appreciate that. I just use latex free gloves from the supermarket the Ansell brand in the medium size, nothing really special, you may need a small size glove. When Im using Apoxie Sculpt I normally use the triple layer Ansell chemical ones found at Bunnings hardware, they offer better protection and are great to use. :)

    Hi Peter, thanks for your video.
    I have no experience with Apoxie sculpture. Seems you are using it as an adhesive but for what kind of tess or substrate we can use it? Is it water proof? Can we color it? I've made a pendant before and I used E6000 glue. Is this one better for bezel?
    If you have any video for that I really appreciate to letting me know.
    Sorry too many questions. 🙃

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  Před 3 lety +1

      Thankyou so much Mozhdeh. I have made a couple of videos where I have used Apoxie Clay and I have made a video more about the product czcams.com/video/1CHAykoiNZY/video.html There are times when you may want to use AS or E6000 over the other it will depend on the project and the materials you use. I partly answered this in your other comment just then so that may shed more light for you. It really comes down to personal preference and which ones makes it easier to finish your job, generally if Im making pendants using deep bezels I will use AS as it has the depth to take it. If im sticking something down and its going to be seen and I need the adhesive to be clear then I will use E6000 but I try to avoid using E6000 unless I have to as its fairly toxic. Apoxie Clay is waterproof and stick's to pretty well most things, there are also coloured ones available as well however I prefer the natural coloured one over the others colours and there are also different brands. I have never coloured AS I believe it can be but that would be something you would need to look into before doing it. :)

    Hi Peter, I asked this on an older video but thought I should repost on a recent video. I am making a large pool mosaic and don't know if I should use mesh. The men who are resurfacing the pool want me to use mesh as it is easier to use and they will be applying it. If using mesh. what adhesive to use to apply to mesh since it will be in water? I am a potter and glass artist so the mosaic is glazed clay and glass. Any information would be so appreciated.

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  Před 3 lety

      Hi Linda, I haven't had any experience with pool mosaics but I would have thought alkaline resistant mesh would be fine to use and if I was looking at adhering the mesh down then I would think a pool adhesive or a thinset that is suitable for pools which I think Laticrete has one. I dont see glass as an issue but the glazed tiles might be. There are quite a few artists that do pool mosaics and posting this in one of the Facebook groups such as Mosaic Mentoring would give you results. As I said I earlier I haven't had any experience with pool mosaics so I would definitely be seeking professional help before moving forward or before taking my advice. :)

    Hello I just need your opinion on apoxie Sculpt vs apoxie clay.
    I believe Clay would be more for Sculpture.
    Im into mosaics.
    Ive learned much from you.
    To make the pendent do we need to seal as well.
    Thanks Cynthia

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  Před 3 lety +1

      Thankyou very much. I haven't used Apoxie Clay you would need to compare the two. I dont seal my necklaces if Im using apoxie sculpt as its not porous when cured and any tess I use is also not porous but if you are using tess that is I would advise sealing the tess then as necklaces can rub against the skin which contains oils. :)
