Hard to be believed that this painting with a beautiful frame that clearly says one of the worlds most famous painters on it and it arrived in a flea market for $7. No way! Unless the seller was some airhead that inherited it from a dead husband who was an art thief.

7 dollars is the true value of this painting.
i like how "INTERSTATE 60" shows this point in the movie.

Something doesn't make sense about this.. It's in the original frame which has the artist name written on it, it was stolen over 60 years ago and has been on a flea market, yet it's in perfect condition.. Old oil paintings fall apart if they're not being maintained for that long. And last the two different stories her and her brother give on how she got the painting. I know she didn't steal the painting, but she might have inherited it from someone who did and thought it would be forgotten with time.

Either way........I assume the museum was paid off by their insurance company for their loss/theft in 1951. So the museum got full compensation in 1951 value. So, if anyone owns it it's the insurance company. If the museum was paid off how can they claim it is now theirs. Are they going to have to pay the insurance co. back in "current value dollars"? I also wonder about statutes of limitation

Just offer her 14 bucks at least she doubles her money that way. It's an ugly painting anyways.
