This project is so cool, land reclamation is fascinating to me. The soil there is nice and black, should be productive land when the rain cooperates. Thanks for bringing us along.

Thanks for coming along with us as we try to reclaim this part of the property. It is a very hard and time consuming project but satisfying when you see the results. You are SOOOOO right about the rain. We started this right after a small rain we received and it is very dry just a few inches into the ground. Which makes this harder to get the roots up. Thanks again for watching and your comment

Need to put that ripper behind your Kubota and see how it does. Keep up the good work.

Idea, after you ripped it 3 times, could you put the middle shank back on? You have the ground loose enough now you can pull it with 3 shanks, my thinking is this, with 3 shank's on they will be closer together and maybe it would catch & lift more of the roots up out of the ground so you could pick them up before you plow with the mow board plow? Then there would be less roots that would clog up your plows. Just this 68 year old farmer's opinion. I have farmed in southeast Pa. And western New York all of my life, so i have a few years experience with plowing, chiseling, and a couple times I have used a ripper.
Good luck with your project to get rid of those mesquite. Those look kinda like what we call thorn apple trees up here, darn mean thorns on those buggers!

I have actually been contemplating putting the third shank on and doing exactly what you’re talking about. Also been thinking about burying it another couple of inches. Might just do that

Soil looks pretty nice. Shame to have all those roots running through. Time and patience. Similar to bamboo which you cannot kill either. At least it doesn't have thorns.

Yes the roots are quite the challenge. Funny you mention Bamboo because I have a video coming soon on some of that.

You need an old John Deere 4440 or something like that to save your current tractor

Yes that would be good. I actually have looked for something larger and older but income level is not able to buy more tractors. Kinda just have to use what I have. I do have my eye open though for something. The LS has been pulling through it and I have Been carful not to abuse it. Thanks for watching.
