    24:50 “The higher your ldl over 60 (years old) the less likely you are to die.” Right on, right on!

      LDL would be low density lipoprotein that is carrying cholesterol through the blood stream.
      There is a study with millions of data points from various countries that has shown an LDL-Cholesterol level above 220 mg/dL will cause longevity. LDL-C levels lower than 220 are associated with a shorter life span.
      And yes, no one needs Statins.

      I believe this is from reverse causation. Many diseases such as cancer can cause LDL to fall. Also, elderly with health problems tend to lose their appetite, then lose weight due to low caloric intake then causing a decrease in LDL. People also have drops in LDL following a heart attack. 10% after one day and almost 20% after one week. Also, some people with health problems such as atherosclerosis begin to take care of their health, their LDL drops, but then it's already too late. These people then die earlier skewing the data into a U-shape curve.
      I wouldn't gamble making the assumption that high LDL is okay. It sounds like your very excited that your LDL is high. If you have an heart attack, I hope you don't have regrets about your choices. This reminds me of people a few hours before death from covid, pleading for the vaccine, not realizing it doesn't work that way.

    I think your Triglycerides No of 1.5 as a requirement is rather high. Under 1 is good.

    Good information. I am curious though. You all agreed that insulin is a big contributor to inflammation and other issues. The main interventions you emphasized focused on reducing or eliminating processed foods, low carbs, and stress management. Yet there is no mention of the negative impact of frequent snacks and meals, which trigger insulin. Time restricted eating plays a huge role in reducing insulin and subsequently inflammation. Would love to see you discuss that in future episodes.

    Would you gentlemen agree that a "Mediterranean" diet (i.e. lots of FRUITS, POTATOES, CORN, BEANS, PASTA, BREADS, WHOLE GRAINS, etc.) would be a really BAD idea for a Type 2 diabetic with atherosclerosis?!!!!

    • @marilynnishimura6999
      @marilynnishimura6999 Před 20 hodinami

      “Lots of corn and potatoes”, where did you get your information from? That is not the mainstay of a classic Mediterranean diet. You missed seafood, moderate amounts of meat, and mostly vegetables, not mostly starches!

    • @tbaerhold
      @tbaerhold Před 8 hodinami

      @@marilynnishimura6999 The Mediterranean diet has been debunked and the question was about Type-2 Diabetes. So yes, the Mediterranean diet would be horrible for diabetics.

    • @tbaerhold
      @tbaerhold Před 8 hodinami

      Yes, anything with Carbs that breaks down into Glucose (sugar) is very bad for type-2 diabetics. Fruits are even worse since those have glucose and fructose (7-11 times worse than glucose). Diabetics could chose a low carb diet with select vegetables that do not cause Insulin spikes (glycemic index) and have the lowest amount of plant toxins.
      I would actually recommend the Carnivore diet because there is nothing in it that would spike blood sugar and cause an Insulin response. At least not on a level that is harmful for type-2 diabetics. Cheers.
      Also, all those negative myths about cholesterol and read meat have been debunked by real scientists.
