I want the next game to have locations on the map that are truly scary. Death Mountain in BOTW was kinda scary, but not scary enough. I want dark, spooky, eerie castles and forests and shit.
Um, what about the lost woods? Isn't that place creepy?
Something that i think captured the scary feel in botw was the Thyphlo Ruins. I loved the look of going into a pitch black forest with just the glow of a torch, even if it leaves you on edge the whole time
Bring back oot's shadow dungeon and the well!!
@@astrellas5007 No wallmasters though, everything else including dead hand can stay, getting picked up by a wallmaster is a fate worse than death. It would also be interesting that you couldn't save inside dungeons, and if you wanted to save your progress in a dungeon, you would walk back out or there would be checkpoints. Zelda is way too forgiving when you die and in most games you don't even die very much
Something like the shadow temple would be awesome
I loved that intro 😂
👌
it took me a second, then I laughed catharticly

Now that the new botw 2 trailer has come out...
*wish granted*
We most definitely need a Ganondorf that has you invested in his side of the story. Calamity Ganon didn't even seem to be sentient and showed zero ties to Demise. I LIKE EVIL WITH INTELLECT!
Blinx the Red one Don’t you mean a Ganoncorpse?
@@adrienetourneau5988 TutenGanon
@Nunion 1 We don't know for sure if that's what we're getting yet my dude. Lol WatchMojo would definitely do something like that though wouldn't they?
Well Gannon did manipulate the entirety of hyrule to make an army of technology that he could easily take control of, causing a potential long and grueling war to end in an instance. He also immentially sent his minions on a massive search party effort to find link and the others. Making an entire army do that and in general control them is no simple task. If that's not intellect than i don't know what is.
@@dragoncanadian118 At the rime of posting my comment, it was way before the trailer for the next game came out dude. So we didn't know GANON was manipulating anything. We assumed Calamity Canon was all that was left... now we know more.
0:56 ...I have no words for how hilarious that joke was.
was having a bad day, but that put a smile on my face.
It was so predictable and dramatic until that punchline
Eh, it was alright.
I hope the next zelda game lets you explore underwater. Imagine botw but exploring the oceans. There could have been a 5th divine beast thats a fish or a whale or something.
My god imagine a giant fucking squid that when it transforms into its firing position, it transforms into a squid kid holding a splattershot.
or a reboot of windwaker; its great but severely limited by the gamecube as there were like 3 islands that actually mattered and you went to more than once, i can just picture that game if it was made for the switch, it would be grand
MHD 73198 yeah they could expand the story too. I always thought it was weird that to get the water orb, i think, from that whale you dont have to complete a dungeon. I was expecting a water dungeon when i first played it but was a little disappointed.
@@MDHDH-iy7nm Go from a mountain climbing simulator to a sailing simulator I like it
YOOOOO That'd be awesome!!
Things I want:
1: Underwater Diving
2: That intro
Only just got BOTW and was pretty disappointed to learn that link cannot dive :( like in twilight princess would be so good
1. Going under water
2. Hook or claw shots
3. Darknuts
4. Weapon repair
5. And some way to avoid slipping in the rain
Love that you changed the title to all these old videos within less than a day of the subtitle being revealed. That’s dedication
bro i was so confused for a sec i thought my man just straight predicted the name
I Want More Villages and Towns. We Need a Full Size Castle Market Town with No Limits. there's always areas you cant go and we finally get a game we can actually explore it in full and its in ruins? i mean come on! and i just want more towns that are spread out a bit more. like a Goron town in the Snowy mountains as well as Death mountain. or a cute little hidden village in the forest or a Proper Port town with Ships and maybe even Pirates. that's another thing. the side characters were kind of lacking in BotW. there weren't too many interesting ones i found. more towns would give us a lot more chances to have cool and interesting characters with Fun Side quest along with them.
We...got seven towns in BotW though (one of which you got to build from the ground up!). Most Zelda games have like, one or two (that are actually worthy of being called towns). Not to mention stables which acted like mini towns. And all the towns in BotW were fairly large, distinctly themed and had plenty to do. And I disagree about the NPCs, they had plenty of fun interactions. Take the Gerudo lady teaching her class on voe, or the kids in Kakariko village who would regularly refer to their dead mother. Or Kass and his children in Rito Village. I could go on.
I didn't say BotW didnt have lots of towns. im just thinking from a sequel standpoint that would possibly take place in a restored Hyrule where its towns and culture are built up. if its going to take place in the same Hyrule it needs to be restored and show you the effects of your efforts from BOTW didnt go to waste. I will coincide with you on the Villager thing. you are right. the more i think about it yeah, Though i do feel as if some of them are quite similar to one another and dont really stand out visually. not as much as i dont know? a Bug Princess?
We need more civilized areas, more places to go, botw was nice but it was empty af.
yes, thats a good way of putting it. thank you.
I think it would have helped if the towns had more story relevance. There were lots of towns and people with character, but they had almost no impact on the story of the game. It would be good if there was a major conflict directly tied to a town or the villagers.
I know this is kind of petty, but I hope the BOTW version of the Rito stick around. I've just never been a fan of Wind Waker's Rito designs. (They just look like hylians with bird stuff slapped on)
The new Rito are a lot more fun, and are perfect for more diverse character designs.
Although your opinion on this is undoubtedly and unfortunately motivated by deviant Furry interests, I agree with you completely!
I agree. It’s a shame they always stay on the ground though, being birds and all. I wish you could look up while adventuring and randomly spot a Rito flying by. That would be so cool.
GUZ FM 2
Yo! Imagine paragliding around Hyrule and you just fly into a Rito and have mid-air conversations, or helping out Ritos in midair combat like Hylians on the ground!
Too bad you can't fight and paraglide at the same time.
We need deku scrubs back!
But medli looks amazing tho.
i would love for the series to get weird again like, majoras mask weird.
what about those times when TP was goofy?
My favorite game in the franchise
Well hello there
how about "even darker than Majoras Mask"
Don't worry, it's happening
Personally, I think we should all be HYPED for the next Zelda game. Breath of the Wild was a whole new idea Nintendo had never tried before. They've said it's the new standard and I believe them. Breath of the Wild's problems, limited enemies, repetitive dungeons and boss fights, Nintendo was playing it safe with a whole new method of Zelda. They WILL expand upon what is there and these flaws were necessary to add some of the amazing things they changed. Now that they know this works, they'll stick with it and improve. There's a storm coming and Zelda as a franchise will somehow become better than ever. As if it wasn't already damn near perfect.
Exactly, compare Ocarina of Time's Dungeons and enemies to Majora's Mask. If we get the kind of expansion and learning curve that Majora had(Remember the Frogs and Garro? They we SO. COOL.) I might have my favorite Zelda game. Whoch is saying something as I love every 3D game so much I've never been able to decide on my favorite.
bruh, shrines don't exist in botw 2, zeltik explained that in 2019, which is the year you commented GODDAMIT!!!!!!!!!!1
@@bread832 Uh... yes they commented this year, but it was still 7 months ago...

*WOOOOOOOOOO000000000000OOOOOOOOO0000000000*
Being able to go underwater was one of my favorite parts of Twilight Princess
Am I one of those people who actually enjoyed the lake bed temple. The Zora armour and iron boots on a button press was a huge improvement over the Ocarina of time water temple.
I hated that and the Majoras Mask swimming sections...but that’s just me
Yeah I loved swimming in Zoras domain and lake bed temple and lake hylia
NathanS I’m glad you did friend, i always preferred the sword swinging, running around as Link gameplay. Just wanted to back to that every time I was swimming
Yeah that was me when ever we had to become a wolf and get tears of light
One of my biggest problems with breath of the wild was the champions weapons like the lightscale trident. I think that those “special weapons” should recharge like the master sword rather than having to get the materials to remake them. I think that the next game should bring back champions weapons as I thought they were an AMAZING idea. Using weapons that had a personal connection to the character that also had great stats. They should have been treated like the mastersword as I thought they were equally special. I also would like to see a return of champions abilities, but through the form of blessing with dungeons. I don’t think they should be as strong as the champions abilities in this game, but someone useful. Such as after beating a forest dungeon (yes we need traditional dungeons back) you receive the forest blessing, and are able to climb trees 50% faster, get more loot from grass, and heal over time while in forests. Small things that build up as you do more dungeons. Each dungeon would grant you several small blessings that had to do with that area of the map. Nothing that breaks the game, but definitely noticeable. I have several other things I would like to see return/change and I would even consider making a video if you guys would like to see it.
I would have preferred if those weapons could be improved. I loved using rivalis bow but after I could take down a lynel it was obviously sub-par
Yeah do a video I’d actually like to see that
Yes make pls :) :3
Bruhjustreadmychanneldesc .-. Hey! Sorry for getting back so late I’ve been kind of off break from social media :P I’m actually starting a podcast soon, so when I do I’ll be sure to let you know so you can stop by :)

What BotW 2 needs are more sword techniques. In Twilight Princess there were loads of cool moves you could learn from the Hero of Time. The Hero of the Wild is supposed to be the best knight in all of Hyrule, yet the only move you can do is a simple sword swing :/
agreed. It had SOME of that, but the combat felt really repetitive. You used to be able to thrust/stab and not just swing, at least. It doesn't need to go into as much detail as Skyward Sword did with the motion controls, although I think an option for it would be kinda cool. The only thing with more sword techniques though: I want to have to actually press something to do them that sorta makes sense. Like, i don't want the *omg your sword is flashing, press ONE button RIGHT NOW and do this complex maneuver that should definitely require more than one button* of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. I HATED that. I also don't want the waiting game that Ocarina was to come back either. Honestly of all that I've played I think Skyward Sword had the most interesting combat. Breath of the Wild had the potential for even more interesting combat with all the rune stuff, but I felt like that got old pretty quickly too.
I'd like the ability to bash enemies with the shield and maybe incorporate combos sorta like Dynasty Warriors and most fighting games have. I want variety with my combat. Something akin to Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3's melee combat system would make it a lot more interesting, I think.

We all agree with these two things:
1) Themed dungeons with atypical bosses (that don't look like each other)
2) A good constructive and important story with steps to complete to move forward
The first point: HELL Yeah. It doesn't even have to be story related (although that would be best) but just, big, themed, classic dungeons would be so amazing.
The second one: Would be awesome, but for me not a must have. I've played Zelda BotW 2 times 100%, and i never really missed a dominant story. Because i just don't think the game is really about that. All i need for an amazing experience is a changed world, dungeons, and everything that BotW brought.
Edit: And More Shrines and Korok Seeds. In addition, i'd like more use for them. I can't believe that after collecting them all twice, i still want more, but i do. Give me like 1200 of them and it's perfect.
@@ilzuab8467 I would add new and classic items, a bigger bestiary with traditional and new enemies, the Triforce, and maybe more epic music. Also, it would be cool for Zelda to be playable (she would use magic).
Winged boots that can make u fly for a while, which u can trade in whenever u want for boots that can allow you to walk on water. Like Bozai, who u can trade snow boots in for sand boots.
@adam smith Roc's cape and the boots already do sort of show up in the game. You can jump from the beginning, and hasty food makes you run faster. Its actually kind of wild how many random items show up in BotW in one form or another. The bows that zoom are like the eagle eye. The masks that let you blend in with monsters are like the rings that transform you from the Oracle games. You've got an ice pillar like the sand pillars from Link between worlds, the deku leaf that blasts gusts of air like the gust bellows, and elemental wands that have been in multiple games as the wands carried by wizzrobes. The more you think about it, the more items you can compare. I agree about the hook shot. I think it would be best implemented as a new weapon type. Like spears, 2 handed, and 1 handed, you could have chains. Chains would replace items like the hook shot, whip, and ball and chain (for a heavy variant). You could use the light ones to grapple to objects of a certain material, like wood, or hit enemies with quick, light attacks, and use the heavy ones to bash stones and enemies alike. I think theres a lot of room to add items as clothing too. Imagine being able to walk underwater with some iron boots, or a headpiece that functions like the lens of truth, revealing invisible parts of the world.
902496 or as you said a lens of truth type item but it allows you to see how the used to look like and you would be able to view how the battle of fort hateno or the akkala citadel ruins looked like and how it went down
I would like the dungeons to feel more like a part of the open world if that makes sense. Some dungeons should have multiple entrances. For example, one entrance could be found by walking through a forest and stumbling upon the main entrance, but you could also swim through an underwater cave in a lake to enter the same dungeon. Maybe a more difficult path to the dungeon would also reward you with access to the dungeon boss sooner.
Like how you could enter BOTW's Hyrule Castle different ways. Swimming to the docks, paragliding, sneaking or fighting all guardians and then walking through the front door.
I want to see your concept too.
How about have a whole map underground that could join the shrines and give us the opportunity to explore the shieka technologies and the storage pillars for the guardians.
I also would like to see more small dungeones around the map. By small i mean bigger more like a mini dungeon from other zelda games. And with a miniboss or more like a overworld boss. Also i would like more variation in the bosses. And now that we have seen a post apocalyptic world i would want to see a world full of villages and full of life.
I also want to see more bosses.
damn ur a genius
I think if the game had a more Fallout 3/NV style weapon durability system, that being you can repair items either with the same item or with similar items (depending on the progression of the main story) would have made it more bearable from an equipment perspective; especially when you have that one weapon or shield you really don't want to lose.
and weapons last way longer.
Am I the only one that wants super severe weather? Tornadoes and Hurricanes would be really cool in BOTW's world
I'd definitely prefer that over it raining every time I climb xD
hell yeah. wanna go the beach and wonder where the ocean went, only to get fucking decked by a tsunami!
imagine if Vaati was the one who created them and resurrected Ganon.
I remember having a dream where i was in Akkala completing a sidequest or something when I had to climb a large rock formation and there were like seven tornadoes at the same time. I woke up thinking it was something that really happened in the game 😂😂😂😂 it would be cool!
Oh no not more rain
I Just want more enemy types. Its really sad that the enemy variety in Oot is like 100x more diverse then in Botw. Also more depth in the sword moves. It kinda annoys me I cant control my swings direction like I could in older zelda games. Also please bring back classic dungeons
Enemy variety even in the original game is more diverse :P
I noticed that about botw too. I felt lile you just kept fighting the same enemies over and over again
@@deemac3470 Yeah totally. And did you find they started to get annoying? Keese, octoroks, the yiga ninjas? For me at least, they got very annoying when they'd pop up out of no where, and maybe that's because of the lack of variety..
@@kayturs Yeah it actually completely destroyed my urge to explore. My thought process was always Oooh I havent been here...oh wait im just gonna fight the same 3 enemies, then find a bunch of shrines that are basically the same, then maybe get some weapons that will break three seconds later.
Yeah, but in oot, every monster can only do one thing and most of them can be killed using the same strategy. In botw, even if the design of the monsters doesn't change much, the monsters act differently depending on the weapon they use, the time of the day and the environement.
Honestly guys, fighting bokoblins will always be more fun than those dumass skellidude who just slap you in oot.
BotW missed out on a big opportunity when they excluded diving imo. All that water and all it is is an obstacle. I remember being SO excited to explore the underwater areas for loot, but that didn't happen unfortunately.
How about a whole town that's underwater merfolks.
@@kylehill3643 Yeah! Sorta like Nautica from DQXI, or Tamamizu from FFXIV.

@@Happymonday2015 I also liked fighting underwater in MH3U. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Bra
Long haired Ganondorf
hm i wonder if thats gonna happen...
i honestly really loved the idea of the lost memories that you could recover. they're kind of a pain in the ass to find, but i honestly think that they're beautiful
those memories definitely should not have replaced a main story line though
My hopes and wishes for the next Zelda game:
- (obviously) open world but one that's not similar to that of BotW
- Big Towns and cities with lots of people running around and doing different things like im Majoras Mask, so not everybody is standing on the same spot the whole day or runing the same route over and pver again
- Great Dungeos with different themes like fire and ice but also something like a prison, so some not typical dungeons and every one got it's own story like the bottom of the well in OoT.
-small mini-dungeons like shrines but not just sheika design but design according to the place the dungeon is located
-compared to BotW: a lot less sheika stuff
-a old school story where you are actually in the story itself and your actions decide how it's progressing (some desissions change the outcome of the next situations and the future of the story)
-breakable weapons and food cooking can stay but there should be also like super rare weapons in dungeons for example that can't break or have very high durability and have own features but also negative attributes so they aren't to OP
I still could think of lots of things bit that would be to much to write down and my english skills are also limiting me a bit^^
I totally agree with you, except the last point, well most of it, it should have key items (like the hookshot/clawshot/longshot or the fishing rod) that are for exploration or solving puzzles and exploration instead of combat, and are separate from other items like the shields swords and bows; and more underwater quest/temple
@@qdjraiker YES, exploration items are a must
I disagree with the big towns thing. It works for Majora's Mask because Clocktown is all you have to wrap your head around. It is relatively easy for the player to understand what is going on and use the times to his advantage.
I think it would be really cool if they make it so that your actions and decisions affect what happens in the game just because it hasn’t really been done before in the Zelda series
I think a scaled down overworld is a must. I enjoyed the vistas but damn, BotW is way too big, not everyone has the time needed to explore it all.
I’d love to see the world change after we beat the boss (I mean this was really frustrating to me)
Yeah it frustrated me too! The lasers from the beasts, towers, shrines all add to the overworld looking littered! On top of that the yiga clan keep spawning.. If all of this cleaned up, that'd be so cool and actually feel like I beat the game
*_breath of the wild 2 appears_*
That's something I'd like. But it's understandable why that wasn't in BotW, because otherwise enemies wouldn't respawn.
kayturs I agree except for the Yiga Clan, because now they spawn cause you killed Master Kohga. The lasers are annoying, and I think that the castle should look normal from the outside, but when you enter the Hyrule Castle, a load zone turns it into the dark one.
Of all the things that BotW ditched from previous titles, this is one thing that they kept that really surprised me. You've already made this Zelda so much different than most of the others, so why not allow me to explore this massive open world after I've saved it?
Who knows, maybe they're saving a lot of that for a sequel.
May I remind you that Skyward Sword had the Ancient Cistern and Koloktos.
That's what I want again in a new Zelda game
I would like underwater missions and exploration. They could've added it to this game once the Zora Armor was completed. And they could've used similar gameplay mechanics to what was used for Majora's Mask's Zora Mask abilities.
The only things I really want from the next Zelda game:
Left-handed Link.
A deep story that isn’t limited to flashbacks.
Some amount of linearity to give the world, gameplay, and narrative some structure.
Traditional dungeons (although, I wouldn’t mind also having shrine-like dungeons throughout the world as well).
Left handed Link + Green Tunic
Take all my money. NOW.
4:41 This is the EXACT kind of experience I wanted to get out of BOTW.
I don't want everything worth finding to be directly related to the central plot. I'd like to climb a mountain nd discover some monastery dungeon at the top, or dig around in the desert and find some buried ruins.
At 7:24 that’s so cute! I never noticed that link reached over to Zelda like ‘are u good? B careful’
I know it'll never happen, but I'd kind of like a Zelda game where you play as Young Link, and the major mechanic and gimmick of the game is that you're on a journey with your best friend...
Young Gannondorf.
The main gimmick/mechanic would be swapping between Young Link and Young Gannon, in order to use their unique skills and equipment to get through puzzles. Kinda like TP and the Wolf mode. I mean you could have them cursed with bracelets that bind them together by an evil sorcerer to explain it, and have that be their main goal for the story - breaking the curse and beating the sorcerer.
Obviously everyone will see Young Gannon's betrayal coming a mile off, but you could make him genuinely funny and likeable by just playing him off as a greedy/selfish/flawed kid, until the end when you beat the sorcerer, break the curse, and Young Gannon's foreshadowed greed makes him pick up the sorcerer's cursed staff and turn full on evil so you can still have your classic Link vs Gannon final battle. Definitely would lend some weight to the conflict, and could start up a new line of Ganondorfs.
Kinda like Porky/pokey in Earthbound
damn bro nintendo should hire u
I’d love it if they actually add swimming under water instead of swimming up waterfalls and upgrades for the master sword
I like to think botw is a test for an open world zelda before they make an actual zelda in that style
Exactly!
Armitreux So I'm not the only one thinking that xD
I dont understand i thought every Zelda game was already an open world? Am I wrong?
M Only Botw is open world (Open world like we define today)
In the past Ocarina was actually considered open world but it really isn't.
Yeah it was massive for the time but the areas of the game where connected by loading screens!
They're still great games ;)
(Sorry for my bad english)
@@parmiggianoreggie-ano1832 ok I see what you mean :)
Honestly the whole "learn about the characters as you play, not during cutscenes of a century ago" can be fixed by making a prequel to Breath of the Wild. Actually live out the experiences as Link as it's all unfolding. It isn't like the world is still pure in this moment in time either. There's a memory that begins right after Link cuts down a hoard of bokoblins, moblins, and lynels. I want to do that as Link and get the feedback Zelda provided in the cutscene. My only fear in this actually going through is the backlash from fans calling it lazy as you'd be reusing the memories in BotW, making them rewatch the same sequences. I can't really see a fix in this issue either, because if you strip too much away from what is given to us from BotW, it feels like less of a prequel and more of a separate game (which isn't what you'd want from a prequel).
I really feel the same about BoTW's ending, I didn't feel satisfied and I felt like there was still so much more I could do afterwards. Exactly like Terry Town, rebuilding old cities where you could pitch a hand. This would be very fun for rebuilding Hyrule Castle, Castle Town, and The Temple of Time.
There's rumored leaks about playable flashbacks during the war
This aged well
This aged like wine.
This is a very well aged comment. We got ourselves a prequel where link is literally slashing through hoards of enemies 🤣.
Well......
I'd like to see the breath of the wild dark realm. I think kilton is from there. Id like there to be a realy extra weird kilton land on the flipside of Hyrule
That would be awesome!
Mate that intro was BRILLIANT ! 😂
I really want a sense of progression over anything. You never feel like you get that much stronger in Botw. Weapons are fleeting, hearts and stamina aren't that exciting; there was only armor and dungeon abilities to get truly excited for. Overall, I love the feeling of seeing an out-of-reach area and needing to come back to it when you get a new ability like a hookshot or improved diving. Basically, I think open world is only good with metroidvania restraints around it that provide a feeling of progression.
I prefer the player based progression of breath of the Wild. Like how you feel brilliant when you figure out how to solve that puzzle or kill that enemy.
Natsu, no offense but have you even played the game my guy? I guess my play through was just different but overtime in my game there were always inaccessible points that I had to get stronger to return to. I could also see my arsenal of weapons increase in size and power quite noticeably over time. Maybe that’s just me though
At the start of the game you have three weapons who deal two damage and break in two hits and three hearts and need to flee against a enemy with 13 hp. In the end, you have 11 times a weapon who deal 78 damage with durability and attack bonuses, a weapon who deap 60 and is nearly unbreakable, the best weapons against guardians, three elementary swords with durability bonuses, bow who send 5 arrows at the same time, explosive arrows, an unbreakable shield, literally 10 times more hearts, a huge bonus of attack with a suit and a protection who make you 10 times more resistant, 2 more stamina circles who let you kill an enemy without touching the ground with a bow, eventually have fairies who don't let you die, four powers op you get back hyper fast who let you resurrect, electrocute all enemies around you, get a shield all around you and resurrect. And kill giant rocks like if it was nothing.
Please explain me what you mean by no progression ???
@@omniscientomnipresent5500 That sounds like grinding not progressing naturally
Most of the map was locked behind special temperature armor so
I whole heartedly agree with your point of repetition, but I actually really don’t mind it and I actually like the Sheikah sci-fi ancient theme. I think Nintendo should keep it but to a lesser extent but also add traditional dungeons, like some sort of forest temple or water temple like you mentioned in past games.
This but make the Yiga scarier and more serious
Lol ancient stuff are just the teams excuses for qol stuff like auto parry shields and personal travel gate. Also like mount anywhere and bike
"We NEED SKY ISLANDS" the trailer: ask and you shall recieve
Here's a little thing I want added. If the whole breakable weapon mechanic stays, I want a new weapon class, where Link dual-wields swords Gerudo style. They have the same speed and strength of spears, but have the range and blocking ability of one handed weapons, but instead of using a shield to block, it crosses the swords to block. Because of this new blocking style, there is a unique trade-off. You can't block projectiles, but perfect parrying gives you a new counter option, which essentially puts you into a shorter version of the flurry rush. The charge attack results in a sort of focused spin attack. You charge, and when you attack, you move forward a bit and perform some sort of cross slash. This is a very strong single swipe attack, and the longer you charge, the stronger it becomes. The idea may need some tweaking, but I like it, and think it should be implemented.
Everything you said with a darker theme like MM or TP and I'll be happy.
Zelda with a darker theme to it like MM or TP is 50 times better
All I’ve wanted for years lol. I need more dark Zelda themes BADLY 😭
Don't you dare compare those two games.
Dude I dare, and I can speak for many Zelda fans when I say that Twilight Princess was a great game. Personally it is my favorite Zelda game. Yes MM and TP are dark games and comparable.
And I have played MM, OOT, BOTW, Zelda I, Zelda II, ALBW, SS, TH, HW, TMC just off the top of my head. So I have more than a right to speak in comparing them.
Twilight princess is the highest rated Player scored game on every game site (right next to ocarina of time) Idk why people keep saying it's bad. Linear games like twilight princess with a great atmosphere and story are the best. Twilight princess is, in my eyes, the best.
Link had a gravity gun.
Link had infinite bombs.

@Eric Sledge its amiibo only cause it would make zero sense to get a tunic from thousands and thousands of years ago and to get weapons that are probably long gone.
They're amazing but they get super stale after using them constantly since the beginning of the game. We need more actual items to return and not have them given all at once to constantly change up the gameplay like in previous games
Gravity Gun?
i agree with most of the points you put up there. I miss the feeling of classical bosses and dungeons as well as finding a good item. I kind of hated the fact that i could never enjoy the weapons I found due to always considering, I better save this one for a particular boss. Most of the times I ended up never using said item.
You see, the problem with BotW story wasn't the actual story, but the way it was presented. If you could actually interact with the story instead of viewing cut scenes in the next game, that would be a huge improvement.
That was what he said in the video
Exactly. It annoys me when people say Botw had no story. It had just as much story as any other Zelda game, its just optional, and a lot of people skipped it.
@@TheAlibabatree personally I think the problem with BOTW's story is just that you're not part of it since it basically already happened
The story was crap. Dont make me go there
I cry just thinking about how awful it is
To be fair link could howl in TP.
True, but you could only do it at specific locations, and they all did the exact same thing.
Not much of an instrument, or fun to use either.
Having an instrument that you can play *anywhere, with songs that do different things* would be ideal.
He used the grass whistles to call the eagle, Twilit Carrier Kargarok and Epona too
I personally thought it added to the game's charm.

I forgot to mention Ilia's Charm too
idk how you can consider the divine beasts dungeons, they take like 10 minutes to beat
I think the best version of BotW that could've existed, is one where the opening of the game takes place before Link is killed. You play through that, and then you lose. Then we get the rest of the game pretty much as is, if not a little more.
Well that kind of kills the whole point of the intro. It gives a really good sense of a new world, and if you already played, it wouldn't be the same
Story. Story. Story. I agree with you 100% BotW had a great story, but you had no real part of it.
Someone wasn't paying attention
There was no great story, link lost 100 years ago when he had 4 champions as allies. And then in botw he defeats ganon without the champions
Aquila Ezio Majora’s Mask. Ocarina of time. Wind waker. The Legend of Zelda. A link to the past. These are all examples of games with a good storyline.
The last boss was awfully weak and lacking. I loved the difficulty of the game though.
Depends Supreme. Try going to gannon a hour into the game on master mode. Not so weak and lacking then huh?
Also the story isn't nearly as bad as many are making it sound lol. It's alright. Could have had better voice acting in English though lolololol.
Tell me though. What video game story line is totally amazing??? Like none. Why do you think video game movies are always mediocre/terrible? Because story is everything in film. Games tend to get a pass just because folks don't focus on the story so much and focus way more on the game play.
Yesss! A post game is so inportant! Especially when its a open world game
One other thing.... *ahem* Actual music! All the trailer themes were so amazing in breath of the wild but when you actually start playing it's like..... *5 hours in* OH my goodness a piano note played
dude this is actually eerie watching this after totk came out. it’s literally fitting almost every category that zeltik is describing, and it’s almost like nintendo themselves watched the video…
This is absolutely the best critical review on Breath of the Wild. It didn’t just bash the game for story and dungeons like most other people. This video was reasonable on Breath of the Wild’s flaws. I absolutely loved the game and to see a game even better would be awesome.
SmashWagon 777 i couldnt agree more. Well said.
It wasn't really critical. A tiny acknowledgement of glaring problems isn't being critical, just realistic.
I have never heard anyone "just bash the game for story and dungeons".
There are many things really interesting about the Game, but some people just didn't have as much fun with it than others. I am among these people and I can tell you how infuriating it is to see the Game get "10/10 - Best Game Ever" rating everywhere, when you personally found the Game to be very lackluster. And we have our reasons you know and we aren't just ignorant haters, it is just that after our experience with the Game we formed this opinion.
I don't know you and what other "reviews" you have seen, but it seems a little ignorant itself that you only seem to accept critics on the Game of people that are huge fanboys of it.
@@milddiffuse Why on earth would it infuriate you to see the game get great reviews? Just because the majority disagrees with you? I happen to have lots of unpopular opinions. It doesnt bother me one bit, and it shouldnt bother you.
@@TheAlibabatree Because the Game has flaws and it is just wrong to say it's perfect. It has imo just too many flaws to ignore. I feel like anything Nintendo is instantly a Master piece.
And now that Nintendo is finally listening to fans, too few people point out it's flaws to Nintendo. I want the next Game to be better. And if everyone says BotW is already perfect then there is no need to improve or change.
What if the divine beast bosses had been the Champions, but corrupted by malice? That would have been much cooler, and would have made for bosses with a lot of character.
@@7takes I never said kill them. Maybe weaken them enough so that the malice disappears or separates itself from the body? Or maybe the malice had already killed them, and we were fighting to free their souls from the body?

What if Gannon was like a puppeteer and he took the darkness from Link's heart and created a dark Link... WOAH, WAIT! WHAT IF... what if all the boss fights took place IN Link's mind; Dream Dungeons? Like what the heck, that sounds so cool... The Legend of Zelda: Dungeons of Dreams ToZDoD rolls off the tongue, maybe different songs give you different capabilities in the dream state, and maybe in the beginning you can't bring items into the dungeons with you, and in the end you could bring items that don't even exist ingame, and you got that song from a crazy difficult boss fight with like a God... the game starts with "sleep link, we need you" it becomes a game garden that is even in your dreams. Maybe Link is powerless in real life, but his dream state evolves with his courage!
Love the Name of the Wind shout out! A lute would be an amazing instrument to add.
Perhaps the next BOTW allows you to play as Zelda? Couch cooperative with Link and Zelda?
I mean, that's not something I'm against, but I'm not hoping for it myself.
I think the series would find itself down a bad road if for some reason that became popular. See resident evil.
i would be cool but i dont think its something i would wish for. the whole point of loz is link/the player saving zelda. i think it would ruin the purpose of the game if we could play as zelda.

Bro,he was like "let's go find a chest"nice video you were SPOT ON,with all of the topics ,we can't wait for the next Legend of zelda.
Dungeons. Actual tools and gadgets. Basically BotW was good in theory but lacked a lot of content to me
I agree. BotW very much felt like a an awesome shell to make a Zelda game in, without the Zelda game in it. I'm basically hoping for the same stuff listed in this video.
Biggest mistake of Nintendo in BOTW : WE CAN'T PET THE DOGS !
Botw lacked direction for me. Also proper weapon management if you are going to have durability on lesser items. Either you can repair or you can trade in damaged weapons and buy new ones from merchants. But to me having breakable weapons in zelda felt weird.
@@seanrea550 Also not being able to use the master sword without being punished for it (outside of divine beasts and Zelda's castle)
I agree 100%. It needs more depth, more rewards for exploration and completing shrines and whatnot, actual dungeons to be found hidden in random hard to find places like some of the shrines were, like some of the labyrinths were in Zelda 1.
More weapon durability, fewer random throwaway weapons and items found in chests.
Even less hand holding. Divine beasts were too obvious. They friggin' told you about them and marked them on your map.
Ideally I want them to basically remake Zelda 1 in Breath of the Wild with some tweaks. I want to keep the totally non-linear spirit of Breath of the Wild. There doesn't even need to be a story beyond the title screen and instruction manual to be totally honest, as far as I'm concerned, especially if having one ruins player autonomy, or if it makes what you do ultimately pointless because all the story you're supposed to care about happened 100 years ago.
I think something I'd like to see most in a future Zelda game is a positive relationship between Ganondorf and Link(and/or Zelda but mainly Link since you play as him) before the plot of the game kicks in so you get that pain of possible betrayal or hesitation when you have to face him in the end
Such a good video, completely agree with everything. Was so disappointed when you couldnt explore or do anything after completing the game
Actually, there is a boss you forgot to mention and everyone forgets, AKA the monk boss in the gerudo desert who led the yiga clan, and I guess he had character compared to the other bosses XD
You mean Master Kohga? Nobody mentions him because he's stupid.
more enemy types please and a more complex fighting system like twilight princess. I want more then just different colored bokos and lizards. and the zelda series has soooo many monsters in its canon that it shouldnt be hard. like putting spiders in the woods and stuff
Tp swordfight is not that complex, you just roll behind and win
@@oliviergagnon8719 but they're probably talking about the stuff old link teaches you. Helm splitter and such
10:50 That boss was so epic! I loved the cutscene where the Old Man yelled "YOU SHALL NOT PASS". Never did figure out what happened to him after that, though....
he is ganfalf the white and he maked it by fight the demon balrog
@@the_bane_of_all_anti_furry actually still Gandalf the Grey at that point. He became white only after winning said fight (and a lot of time spent in some kind of otherworldly white/God(afterlife or something) realm after that, until their creators (the Gods of Middle Earth) brought Gandalf back for the remaining fight to be fought afaik).
I think to prevent favorite items breaking, there can be one item that you find that you can tack onto a favorite weapon to prevent it from breaking. It can be added to a sword, shield or bow. You only get one but can switch it whenever you want. If it’s taken off of a weapon that one can break again.
Maybe the biggest problem of the whole game was the lack of an urgent atmosphere. I mean yeah, the villages were 'terrorized' by the titans (even though they seemed to get along just fine, they were just a little annoyed) but Ganon has laid dormant for a hundred years and except for the occasional monster the world generally seemed rather undangered. It didn't feel at all like you HAD to defeat Ganon. He had no motives. No aspirations. No masterplan. He just... waited for you to get there. Wack.
That was one of the biggest problems for sure
I actually didn't mind this, because it meant I could explore at my own pace. A sense of urgency would have distracted from my desire to explore all the corners of the world before tackling Ganon.
To each their own. But I prefer the idea of exploring without a constant worry of enemies.
To be fair, the whole game is just procrastination, so if there was pressure, nobody would really get anything done in the overworld and just go straight to Ganon.
Zelda is meant to be the one to hurry for. She saved the world in your place and now you need to rescue her. The mojo tree pretty much said so
All good points. Story and dungeon are the two most important improvements in my opinion, definitely want the open air exploration aspect to be kept.
"The first open air Zelda game"
Wind Waker: "Am I a joke to you?"
@Ethan MB wind waker was like assassin's Creed, in that it's open world but theres a main quest you have to follow
Commeting from the future, with the reveal of the Depths and Sky Islands, Zeltik got it right about the game having alternate-ish worlds.
I want a Zelda game with better magic implications. As it stands now you receive an item that uses magic and you get a meter. But I think a game that had really cool spell casting similar to skyrim would be neat and make combat more complex. I don't need any Harry potter stuff but just a small menu that has several spells like fire, wind, water, etc. Something more than just arrows that freeze or burn stuff that we have now.
I hate how they took the magic concept away.
Like Skyrim most of the shouts were optional, but having a system where you can learn various spells from all over, and even perhaps higher level versions of them would be a good idea. Can find scrolls or carved stones or even find wisemen like in Zelda 2, mix it up and scatter them about, would address the repetitive shrines issue people have complained about.
I personally wouldn't agree since the entire idea behind Link is that he's a versatile swordsman, not a mage. Maybe that'd work for Zelda, but as far as Link himself goes, it'd be weird for him to just go full wizard. I think he works better with magic items like arrows and rods, rather than just full on magic spells, considering magic has always felt like a zelda/triforce of wisdom thing
@@windwaker407 Zelda 2 had a fair number of spells, and kept him focused more on the sword and shield play.
Besides that he's often favoured by the gods, and knows sages and witches and all sorts, could be taught by them skills.
But if you want to keep it item based, let's bring back the fire and ice rods, and maybe a few other elemental rods like the sand rod. Or what would be cool would be something that could imbue his sword with an element for a short time, making use of magic for the situation but keeping him using his sword.
@@TheJadeFist Zelda 2 doesn't feel very convincing since it's such an early game, back when nintendo was still trying to figure out where they wanted to take the zelda series, and it was ultimately a feature they didn't want to stick with. Not to mention it was all mostly really utility based outside of fireball and thunder, which were both obtained later in the game, which is why Link was focused on swordplay. The op seems to be suggesting more offensive based magic like in skyrim, which doesnt make zelda 2 a great comparison.
I think magical items would work just fine and fit within how Link is commonly depicted. In breath of the wild, using the magic rods and elemental weaponry was really fun. I think if they return to giving Link magic based items and maybe a magic system to use them, that'd be really cool. Could even do something similar to botw where you can choose whether to upgrade your hearts or your magic. Ultimately I just think there are a lot of ways to implement magic while staying within what makes sense for Link's character and keeping him in his roots as a swordman with a bag full of crazy unique items.
For the 2nd world... Instead of traveling to some mystical alternate world like the dark world, how about they give us an underground world? They could have a series of caves that connect to areas of the overworld, in addition to full scale dungeons. Could have some dark/scary stuff happening down there and endless possibilities. Even bring back Mogmas?
Underground world sounds awesome! There could be a new race down there too, something original so we don't just recycle gorons and zoras. Cool idea.
It would be cool, if not the most ambitious thing ever if you could visit every alternate dimension seen thus far, and have 2-4 dungeons in each, or at least the less explored ones, like the sky (only had the skyloft dungeon, although many games after featured a sky dungeon so whatever), sacred realm (the closest thing we have is speculation that we might be partially in the sacred realm in the temple of time in TP [which say what you want about most of the game, but the items, dungeons, and even bosses were phenomenal], I also got my first taste of zelda watching my older brother play this game, although MM is still better overall), twilight realm (only one dungeon despite playing a huge story role was sad), the shadow world in spirit tracks (only had a few boss fights, and seemed to come out of nowhere), under the great sea (I know probably not gonna happen, but here's hoping), and I also want termina, just because totally not biased. Out of all the things there was one thing that I haven't seen mentioned, a final boss that's NOT ganon, seriously like Vaati was twice the villain ganon was, and while we see the more human side in WW, and a more monstrous side throughout the downfall timeline, it's still dumb that were still using this over used villain and I'm hoping vaati with majora's mask (PLZ)
The Problem about "proper" Item Progression in a BotW styled game is that it completely breaks it.
The fact that you can tackle the game in whatever order you want is what makes it great and the items being not forever is what makes it possible in the first place.
Imagine it like this:
You speedurn your way through an extremely tough Area X and get through, even though you are way to weak for it by using some minor tricks and get the reward. Unbreakable Item Y.
WIth that item at your disposal, you are completely overpowered for all the other areas of the game. This is why such an Item progression completely breaks the flow of BotW's non-linear playstyle.
Imagine Lynel weapons being unbreakable, that way it would be extremely rewarding AND gamebreaking to just get a hundred healing meals and bruteforce through the strongest Lynel you can find in order to get weapons unmatched by any enemy until you reach the endgame.
@@scandalouspanda7489
Hollow Knight is a MetroidVania Game and is not at all comparable to BotW.
Hollow Knight has a linear progression, since you have to complete certain areas first, to get the abilities you need in order to even access later areas in the game.
BotW has no linear progression, you can do the divine beasts, shrines or master sword whenever you want to, or leave it out completely. You can run straight from the start into Castle Hyrule and face the final boss only equipped with a stick, you can not do that in Hollow Knight. In Hollow Knight you HAVE TO kill all sleepers and complete the areas before, in order to get the skills to reach them. So your comparison doesn't make any sense to me.
Except your argument defeats itself. The game is truly open once you pass the tutorial phase with one exception, the master sword, which you cant just go straight to and get because the heart requirement. This design ensures that you have to be a good way through the game before you get it. Combine that with the fact that even at it's best the master sword isn't in the top tier of damage of all weapons. So by the time you get it it's an ok weapon but not the best.
If it's truly open then what's wrong with someone getting the one weapon that doesnt break, especially if it's not the top tier thing you make it out to be. Plus, even using your own example, you make it sound bad that someone can run to one place and speed run it and get an item. That's literally the game already, in multiple ways. You can already run in and beat the whole game right off the tutorial using some tricks and bypassing 95% of the game. How is that ok and to be praised but doing the same thing but to get a sword and then play out the whole rest of the game with a upper mid tier weapon somehow wrong? Hell even if you kept it as is you can still beat and skip virtually the entire game if you want right at the start, but spending 10 or more hours to get a 30-60 power sword that doesnt break once you get 13 hearts and then playing out the entire game is somehow this inconceivable terrible idea that ruins the game (that you would have skipped had you done option A)??
Theres literally no reason why the MS should break. BOTW is all about play how you want to play. Tons of us want to play like that.
I think item progression could be possible. That with every main dungeon that you clear the weapons in the overworld get slightly stronger as do the enemies. Because those dungeons would be spread out all over Hyrule cheating them is not all that easy since you have to more or less explore all the major areas to make it happen.
They should make it so that there is a formula as to what weapons appear with the stronger ones being more rare. The very high ones would be initially cut off entirely and as you clear dungeons they would start to appear like 1% of the time and become more and more common. However the same thing is happening to the enemies so the extra power is also needed.

I expected to swim underwater from the Zora gear. Also when I completed a mission described after the Skyloft, I imagined how awesome it would’ve been to visit the skys and land on a island upthere. I also wanted to sword fight Gannondorf with nothing but the Mastersword and Hylian Shield and have a technical fight. (And yes I haved played etc.) The huge boss fights are great for endings but you gotta fill the bellys the combatants. The world felt a little empty knowing Zelda, the king and the Champions were not alive. And the towns of Hyrule were destroyed. [insert] Ocarina
The sheika slate replaced the ocarina, but yes the world was rather empty
gorilla thewinston First off the Sheikah Slate is awesome, yet I was referring to the Ocarina’s powers to turn back time. I would have loved to visit the world before Gannon destroyed and killed most of Hyrule.
But... the Ocarina does age you according to your age in that timeline being younger or older. And this story took place 100 years after Gannons reign, so you would probably not be able travel that far back.
Link and Zelda actually survived.
Absolutely agreed!$
Ummm.. Zelda was alive
I know this was posted over a year ago but I just found it and wanted to say that I absolutely loved all your ideas for a new Zelda game! especially about having better music and having a cool post game quest like rebuilding Hyrule like we did with Terry town.
Yes! Keeping your weapons and a musical instrument! Also seeing the lands as they are rebuilding and having nice interactions with the people! I loved those things about Ocarina of time
I agree with most of the points here but I wouldn't like it if you got an item halfway through the dungeon and know that you will have to use this said item to defeat the dungeon's boss. It has become boring by now. Very predictable. You could be finding new key items in the overworld, and since you are not supposed to do any dungeons in order, there would be "aha!" moments where you would know you could go to a certain place, or solve a certain puzzle that you couldn't before, much like a Metroidvania game. Again, that would work if every single dungeon is optional.
Yep! Theres no reason why you couldnt get halfway through a dungeon only to find that you dont have the gear to finish it. That would just encourage you to go elsewhere and find the things. This would work especially well with the 'no handholding' approach that they've taken in this game.
Yeah that's a cool idea! I think to work, there would also have to be a small reward half way through the dungeon before the player realizes they're missing an item. That way it doesn't feel like totally wasted time

While it could be an interesting idea, I don't think it's something that people would like to see implemented, or at the very least not something Nintendo would feel comfortable introducing without the addition of a companion character or extremely obvious visual cues
Let's just say, just as an example, that you find yourself in a dungeon and you need the hookshot to go on. You would find yourself with both players spending a lot of time trying to find the way to advance, not knowing that they lack the item to do so, and growing frustrated because of it, and people not noticing the area where to use the hookshot they already have, thinking they don't have yet the item they need and leaving the dungeon because of it
This is such a great list, I agree with literally everything.

I would honestly rather have a smaller Zelda game than wait another 6 years. One thing they could do to release one faster would be to re-use the map of BOTW and have the next game take place 10-20 years later.
We could have a taller, more mature Link, and have his new team of Champions be Riju, Yunobo, Teba and Sidon who desperately need more development. Riju will have grown into a fine adult leader, Yunobo would have much more courage (maybe even overconfidence now?), Teba could be much more trustworthy and friendly by this point, since we saw a glimpse of that after they took down the Divine Beast's shield together, and maybe Sidon could be in depression, due to Vah Ruta's malfunction accidentally destroying the 10000 year old Zora's Domain.
Old villages could be rebuilt and altogether new ones could be found in areas of the map previously uninhabited. Hyrule Castle Town would be rebuilt too with homes, bars, armouries and a beautiful castle to explore. The brand new villain could have the power to damage the landscape after key events in the story, altering the map even further from BOTW.
They would have to work hard to make the game feel different enough, remove elements such as the uncovered Shrines from the map and other issues like that, but I would love to see something along these lines.
This is actually a pretty good idea.
It will probably be like Majora's Mask, using a lot of assets from OoT but modifying it enough to be unique and being quicker to develop since they don't need to create an entirely new physics engine. Hopefully!!
@@joeduffy4547 I agree. That way we won't have to wait a long ass time for another game, among other things.
We also need to be able to pet the Doggos and I want more animals.
Swimming would be awesome as well!
Although there was one town that we were more involved in it's creation... I would love to do more down to earth things within the game. Helping them rebuild, have a job for adult link, see the children in game now older, see the relationships the link has/might develop unfold & so fourth. It would expand the NPC's so much more, since they were pretty dull compared to other games.
Then again I am a sucker for the Spirit Track side quests soooo..
Yeah, I agree completely and they need to put that tiny village in the game with the small people similar to the Minish. I can't believe they left that out! Spirit Tracks had some amazing sidequests, but I hated the one where you had to get the ore through that tunnel with the gohma >__
Make the main villain good again. To me Calamity Ganon was dissapointing in many ways. There was no cool backstory for it other than it is just something that needs to be locked away. Ganondorf and Demise were both cool characters with personalities that made the story more exciting. And also the final battle against Calamity Ganon was way too easy especially for a hard game like Breath Of The Wild. If you completed all of the devine beasts Ganons hp was reduced to half before the battle even started. Then came the second half with Ganon. A huge beast literally nobody took damage from. Way too easy.
Another thing that kinda annoyed me was the lack of npc in the game. I get that it was the feel they wanted for the game but to me it made the game feel less alive. So more and bigger towns with more unique and memorable npc's.
Some good points, but I think you missed the point of BotW being basically post-apocalyptic.
Xeno Solarus To be honest i agree with the original post unlile in most zelda games i never really got connected to any of the new characters except for the ones that are ironically already dead. As for post apocoliptic well fall out is able to do that and still have a great list of characters. I do love the overworld of botw but it some how feels even emptyer then tp. But thats just me
@@RaisonDeProductions I'd have to agree with the fact that not many characters are all that interesting, and I hope they fix that.
And Zant, even though he got switched out for Ganondorf at the last minute anyway (spoilers for a 12 year old game), was shaping up to be a really interesting and unique boss characterwise with a good backstory especially when it came to his interactions with Midna.

I feel like there should be certain abilities that you can obtain and upgrade. They could interact with the items enhancing them or allowing more efficient travel. Ex: a wind ability that allows your arrows to launch enemies in the air or allow you to catapult on your grappling hook
We need twilight, Lorule, dark realm, underground, oceans, and skies for exploring.
If we cannot have diverse dungeons this is an amazing answer, more exploration.
I agree for sure with caves and underwater. I can take our leave the rest.
That would be way too many worlds overlapping. One world beside Hyrule at most.
Breath of the Wild realized what i had always wanted as a Kid when it came to Zelda. There isn't much more I can ask for other than the few key thing you mentioned here. Return of Traditional Zelda Temples, a Progressing Story instead of one that basically already happened. Maybe alternate worlds (Would love to see a return to Termina but that is wishful thinking on my part I suppose). but all in all, as a Life Long Zelda fan, BotW was my DREAM game. And if we're gonna get even more after this? I can't wait to see what happens and I look forward to the next teaser drop. Here's to hoping we don't have to wait to long again! keep up the good work, Zeltik. You make the Zelda Hype Train bearable to be on with all the long waits in between games.
Nice job on this one. Cannot wait for the next installment.
All I want is a remaster package of Majora’s Mask and Ocarina of Time for the switch. We need this for progression of remakes. These incredible games need new light and a younger audience available to play. With where it’s at (3ds remakes) it is very hard for an older audience to replay the games in a new way. With the switch’s amazing sells, putting these two on it would surely allow for the likes of people who have never played these masterpieces a chance to enjoy it.
I think you're right in so many aspects, specially with the story bit. Sadly, everything exciting passed 100 years ago and you're not there to feel involved with what happened. Playing in the past instead of just watching memories should've been a nice solution (imo). About weapons, I think that gathering materials to upgrade your ammo should be great. Finally, I would love for the next Zelda to see Hyryle in all its glory instead of ruins (one can dream...) Thanks for the video, I love it!
I found myself agreeing with most of your points. It's a great game, but it had it's flaws. I get why SS got bashed for being linear, but the dungeons have always been my favorite part of zelda games and SS had some of the best while BotW felt tedious by the end.
But that's the thing I don't understand with this criticism though : the point of BotW was non-linearity... So when you say "BotW felt tedious by the end" what I don't get is: the game is designed for you to do exactly what you want, when you want... If you got bored of completing shrines, you could just stop looking for them, you could bypass the divine beasts altogether... Therefore it also makes sense that the divine beasts would be short, because why would you develop a full blown dungeon if it's optional?
Not bashing you at all man, I'm just saying, I think in evaluating BotW you have to distance yourself from what you already knew about Zelda games, because comparisons would not be fair for BotW, there's simply no other game like this one in the Zelda games lineup so far...
@@SaintMu The problem is that the entire game could be viewed as a giant dungeon. You are in a bounded area that you explore, finding traps, enemies, obstacles, getting new weapons, and there is a boss fight at the end. You asked why make a dungeon if it's optional. Why make an entire game like a dungeon that people don't have to buy? The entire game is skippable.
Also, all the effort that went into skippable shrines and skippable beasts could have gone into skippable dungeons. Personally I'd rather have had 7 or 8 really incredible dungeons than 120 look alike shrines.
@@briancarter1597 lol " the entire game is skippable". Apparently not if you look at sales figures of this game and the switch. 100% of switch owners also have botw apparently. But I agree with you, a few more individual dungeons wouldve been far better than over a hundred repetitive shrines. I enjoyed the divine beasts but not as much as the temples in previous games. I thought they nailed it in SS, TP, MM and WW. Even the hated water temples were awesome, because once you beat them you felt like a God! And let's get rid of that damned time stopping rune until they find a better way to aim the bloody thing.
Quite Lightning lol only about half of switch owners have Breath of the Wild actually. Mario kart and Odyssey actually sold more
@@rhettmitchell ah yes, right you are. i was working from older sales info.
OMG THAT OPENING! I laughed so hard at it, but at the same time, I kinda felt drawn in as if I was watching "Link" find the Ocarina.
Wow you nailed everything
Thats a nice thumbnail
A true Windwaker sequel but with the openness of BOTW. So basically what Windwaker could have been. Or a BOTW style game with more random towns.
I am cannot imagine what I would do in order to obtain a sequal to TWW. I would not be able to tell my kid about it..
You do learn what link is like because he has a new personality than he did 100 years ago.
Zelda 1 proved we can have full dungeons playable dungeons in any order as long as one dungeon isn’t dependent on items from another dungeon. Dungeons could easily return
14:17 There's nothing that infuriates me more than a mirrored overworld. I absolutely can't stand it when they decide to flip the map, as they did in OoT 3D Master Quest and TPHD Hard Mode.
It screws with my sense of orientation so much, constantly confusing left for right makes it unplayable for me. Hope they never do it again.
Not to mention that it's pretty fucking lazy.
It's the exact same map, but flipped? oh wow... Color me impressed...
@@SchrollShepard, agreed, but breath of the wild's hyrule? Holy shit, this is big, filled with content, and is so unique, plus beautiful.
This Video has to be shown to Nintendo, for real
Except that they have already gotten these criticisms a million times
Dont be silly, Nintendo dont give a flying f*** about what us westerners want.
Hey Zeltik, great video! I love the quality of your videos, they are so good thank you!!
If you want, you can make videos about some things I thought about:
In BOTW when you fight Calamity Ganon, the cave is corrupted too (it's the same red). That means it's actually of Sheikah origin (must have been there a long time). On the wall there is the map of Hyrule including the four divine beasts! Also could you translate the writing on the wall please??? :-)
For BOTW 2:
Another argument for the thought that Luminous stone has something to do with spirit/dead people's energy is that with the luminous stone OUTFIT stal monsters don't attack you. Maybe it's not because you LOOK like them but because the luminous stone emits spirit energy and they recognize that as belonging to them or something.
In the trailer, the ceiling of the cave looks somewhat like the chamber of resurrection! Also from the tip of the ceiling (it’s INSIDE the spiral) there’s a thin stream of malice connecting the ceiling with Ganondorf.
When I see the spiral and how it moves away from the hand I always think of the Sheikah monks in the shrine, how they vanish. It looks like the seal is getting weaker and the hand dissolving.
I’d love to see you cover some of these things. :-)
Love your view on it! real nice
