He does go on to say that League is still increasing in popularity in SA, KR, and Europe (?). It's only decreasing in popularity in China and Na. I still think he's wrong but at least he tries to substantiate his belief in a geo-social context

@@christophermauro-barias7451concerning this topic he very well might not, just because he was a pro player doesn't necessarily mean he'll have accurate insight into the business end of things. Try asking most NFL or NBA players about the financial health of their leagues, they'll show you pretty quickly that they don't know much more than the average fan.

I love him, but it's so obvious that DL has no real life experience with work and money lol The LCS will only last until Riot doesn't need it as a marketing tool.

You cited in your own Retirement video that the current "economic climate" of LCS isn't really looking too good.
With viewership down and salaries cut (Potential Salary Cap?) I don't know what other metric we could possibly use to disprove that it is infact, dying.
    This pertains to NA.

Lcs was never profitable that's why it's always selling more red bull baron power play shoutouts.

@@speedpoke3019 was nice seeing esport grow and think in another timeline if the timing were better I'd have had similar opportunities like guys like bjerg and doublelift. Esport as it is now I wouldn't wanna be anywhere near. Coaching staff indifferent and incompetent and players indifferent and incompetent and all seem like kids who need safety helmets. Golden age of league is well over. Maybe Korea and China it's still a bug deal there because their players and coaches compete but na just doesnt wanna be on that level because the culture of business doesnt think about player output so much as product endorsement. It's funny seeing contracts trying to sell his little plastic statue as if anyone would ever care I dont understand whose idea that was.

@@speedpoke3019 Feel like 2016-2018 was sort of the peak and then it fell off because of franchising pissing on everything. I knew it was over the moment they announced it, you just know if you understand how corporations work and economics.

I think the only thing that saves NA is NA talent performing well on the World's stage by developing their own meta. Not copying CN or KR. If they can get to semi's with NA talent, that would go a long way to increasing viewership. Also, NA talent needs to develop more personality and storylines to get viewership engaged.

Bounce back? My guy, what money is there to make with the pro scene?
There isn’t a monthly subscription of like 5-10 dollar to watch the pro games, the LCS makes zero dollars from online.
In person tickets make nothing, team Jerseys are a joke. Yeah 100T always sells out their merch, but they limit it to like a few hundred on release then make more if people fall for the trap.
Tell me how do you expect the pro scenes in NA and EU to make money? In China and Korea it will always work since the pros are treated like celebrities there.

Lcs is dead. None of the players are relevant, na has 0 chance to succeed internationally because of capitalist meta(c9 with ls the prime example was na last chance but nope). The people who do watch it seriously are bots at best and the ones who are not enjoy making fun of how bad they are because no matter how bad you got it you can look at lcs players and feel better. Also likely most 9f its serious viewership is through live views and youtube with big streamers.
Lift lift doesnt seem to understand without people like him or bjergsen in it lcs has literally no heart. Or hes contractually obligated not to be a doomer over his own meal ticket.

The problem is, all the players in the LCS are boring af. Even Jojo, who occasionally trash talks is quite boring. The old gen LCS players that have retired actually had personality. That’s the difference. And the constant DL dramas made each split more interesting for storylines. Now it’s just which import team can beat which import team. And the problem is, these import players usually aren’t completely fluent and aren’t entertaining for the western fan base. Maybe they could be if they spoke in their native language. But they don’t.
