- Ronald Binge's Elizabethan Serenade was first performed by the Mantovani orchestra in 1951. Although it celebrates the second Elizabethan age in England, pianist Nancy Litten has dressed in the fashions of the time of Queen Elizabeth 1 in the 16th century.
Beautifully played Your Highness and what fun we are having with the dress up! Sir Walter Raleigh should be here to hear too.
Just watched 25/09/2023 and loved it ! I'm now going to subscribe . Thanks , Mark .

Thank you Miss Elizabeth!
A wonderful piece of music composed by Ronald Binge. Takes me back to my childhood growing up in the UK in the fifties and sixties. It never fails to pull on my heart strings.
Still so beautiful Nancy regards Martin x

Hello Nancy, I just discovered you within the last week and I’m so grateful for your musicianship, charm, your costumes, and the lovely environment that you create. I have never heard the Elizabethan Serenade before. As you probably know, we lost Roger Whittaker last week and I loved his singing and especially his whistling. I found his rendition of this piece with his distinct extraordinary whistling accompanied by an orchestra. I then kept looking to see what other renditions of the piece were out there and found many. Your piano rendition is my favorite. Then I decided to watch all your CZcams videos and what a joy that was for me. Thank you so much for the love of the music that you share with all of us as well as your beautiful soul and your talent. Blessings, Sonya
Thank you so much, Sonya! I am very glad that my playing brings joy.
Beautiful and uplifting!
Glad you like it!
So beautifully played! Bravo!
Thank you!
Truly beautiful!
Thank you!
Such a lovely joyous piece of music. I've been trying to play this piece for a few weeks now, but it's a lot harder than it sounds. Especially getting the rhythm right and the gentle "swing" that gives it such character. Incidentally, I believe Elizabethan refers to Elizabeth II, the piece was written and first performed before it was given its name and was later named in honour of the new queen.
I did know that the piece was related to Elizabeth ll, but dressing up as in the previous Elizabethan age is more fun!
Correct Philip, I only found out the full story behind the piece quite recently.
Beautifully played by Nancy!
Absolutely Marvelous ❤
Thank you!

Thank you for this beautiful presentation. God bless you! Fraternal hugs from Brazil
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
I love this piece of music, I love your outfit and I loved listening to you playing! It made me so happy that I almost cried a little 🥹😁I'm going to order the sheet music for my Mum. She plays the piano and I think she would enjoy this, and I would love to hear it floating through the house! Thank you so much.
Glad you enjoyed it!

wunderbar große kunst
Thank you
Ronald Binge wrote a masterpiece.
Yes he did. One of my favourite pieces.
Die Melodie ist wunderschön, wird aber durch dieses Klingklong unterbrochen.
Good shit, nice one lady.
Very good! And commited to memory too. Can I ask, where did you find this piano arrangement? I would like it!

Nicely done, but the doesn't the title reflect the optomism of the dawn of the new Elizabethan era, being the succession of Elizabeth II in 1950's Britain, rather than 1550's?
Yes it does, but it was more fun to dress in medieval costume!
Surely this Elizabethan as in Elizabeth 2nd not Elizabeth 1st?

What's with the silly costume? "Bygone age"? This was originally titled The Man In The Street, and renamed just before publication to celebrate the accession of Elizabeth THE SECOND. Tudor music sounds nothing like this.
