I took my daughter to her first coin show( she's 10) about one year ago and a nice WW2 Vet had a table. My daughter thanked him for his service and he looked around his boxes of coins and gives her the two headed Churchill coin. It's big, heavy and really cool looking. $1400.00 buys a lot of candy she said! Lol. We both loved your video

I did know most of the info in your video. My brother is a very much a history buff and he has about 10 books about Churchill. I have only read 6 so far. In one of the books it talked about this coin breafly. But I figured it would be worth more. My Grandfather had one and let me see it numerous times, but I do not know what ever happened to it
Last Saturday I went to a flea market and found this beautiful coin and bought it for $5 there were like 5 more coins in really good condition, of course I picked the one that look better 😏 and yesterday I saw this video about this coin, I’ll go next Saturday and might buy all the remaining coins if there’s any left.

I'm really pleased that you mentioned the Churchill coin. Few people knew of this and yes including me. He was in the last cavalry charge in the 19th century at Omdurman with the 21st lancers? He wrote the History of the English Speaking People (4 volumes), and many other works including the History of the Second World War, was captured by the Boers in the Boer war and escaped with a price on his head. Ran around in Cuba as a correspondent covering the rebels in Spanish Cuba. He was blamed for the Dardenelles amphib disaster when it was poorly executed. This is one reason he left the Admiralty in WW to serve in the trenches. I'm not sure but he was the one invlolved with the "land boat" and was on a committee and came up with the labelling of crates "tank" as in water tank for troops in the field for the western front and labelled as such to keep secret. Really impressed with the quotes you produced. I'm always learning at your posts.

I picked up a mint set with several BU G. B.coins including 1941 farthing to 1965 Churchill crown. Been collecting dust at LCS, So I picked it up b4 it disappeard😃

Hello JB! I have not visited your coin-roll hunts for a while, but I wanted to tell you I watch all of your posts, and learn something new on each visit. I have 4 of these Churchills; have had them for many years. They look satiny and if the designer’s initials are on the coin where would they have been placed? I see very faint (something) at left of Churchills head near the top of his collar, on all four coins. Keep those CZcams videos coming. We all enjoy them here in PA!

Never heard of this coin. I was 10 when he passed . Most of what I know of him was from my parents and watching PBS TV. I think I will pick up a biography.

I wasn't aware of this coin. I am always happy to learn more interesting facts about Churchill. Such an interesting and important character in world history. Great info. I picked one of these from an antique mall. I was wondering about the strange strike. Almost looked fake.
Crowns are intended to be Commemorative Coins, although they do have a value and are legal tender. There have been many Crowns made over the years. I agree that Churchill became a great man during WW2, he was by no means perfect, I won't list he failings here, but he was no Saint.

In 1965 UK was Predecimal - this coin was referred to as a Comemerative Crown.

When I was about 5 my dad drove big trucks and I got to ride with him sometimes. Well we went through Oklahoma City and we stopped to eat at a restaurant and I found one on the floor of the restaurant well he put it up and gave it to me later and it just so happened I like coin collecting
