    I am a 76 year old lady from Oklahoma.. My husband has a tiny coin collection that we had forgotten about for the last 30 years. LOL. Well we have started looking into it again. So much fun. I am recovering from a double total knee replacement. Listening to you has become so much fun for me. The way you come across on youtube assures me that. that you are honest and very knowledgeable. I love listening to you and I trust you. I am sticking with you because I know I will learn from you. Thank you for being there.

    Thank you Daniel for all of your videos. I know its been ypu through your great teaching videos that I know my way around a cent and other coins as well. Ireally do appreciate the knowledge that you have made available to me and. Others who are like me. I came in to collecting coins because I found a 1943 copper cent. Then I became very interested. In collecting. At first I was just trying to sell my coin. So I joined P C G S. And although I could not afford it I figured it would be worth it in the end. Boy did I figure wrong. Well my brain is a bit slower since the car accident in 86. Well anyway i just wanted to thank you for letting me learn at my own pace. There was no pressure . And I have realized through the years that I dont deel real well under any sort of pressure. I know that you are the only reason that I kept at coin collecting till today . I think that my oldest coiis a denier 1560s or close to it. Its been so long since Ive even looked at my coins. What I do now days is coin roll hunt. Just today I found a 1937 and a 1942 and a 1959 in one roll. A good roll for once. Well I.always get decent rolls so any way I just wanted to express my grattitude and that GOD for giving me this Lif we are all so lucky to b born into the world in this great time . Thanks Daniel . I started rambling . So Im sorry for that. Im getting better at recognition of my actions. Best wishes to you and your family. Good hunting to you.

      @@CoinHELPu I'm going to do my first ANACS submission soon. I would normally do NGC or PCGS, however, I have some pennies and nickles that would make more sense to just send them off to ANACS while they have their 10 for 107 deal going. If any of them come back MS67 or above, I would then send to PCGS/NGC for a crossover.
      The pennies and nickles I have owned for a long time now. If they just came back ms65/66 I wouldn't really be losing any money using anacs. Coins are hundreds of dollars in value at 67. I am glad I watch your videos and decided to look into them.

    Apart from the subject at present! How much should anyone trust eBay and what is
    being sold on the web site! I bought a 1914 d Lincoln Penny which turned out to be a
    fake counterfeit coin! And yet I know that I have to use discretion when buying on eBay!
    The sellers should be held accountable for items sold on eBay! And for the sake of it all!
    I trust your judgment with all that you give to us collectors in the education and knowledge that you give! Many thanks go to you, Sir!

    • @CoinHELPu
      @CoinHELPu  Před 4 lety +1

      A seller can say I didn't know so at that point you have to see a pattern of selling fakes to commit fraud. But you can't get them prosecuted because it is hard to prove. The solution is to have an expert who's only job is to keep ebay clean on a daily basis. However, ebay knows these same sellers will go somewhere else and ebay sells would plummet.

    I use a wire brush to clean my coins! It shines them and smoothes them some. And gets rid of any corrosion, rust, or grease. Another idea you might consider is to use a weak acid solution (like oven cleaner) in a glass of vinegar to soak your coins overnight. This should bring out a nice metallic shine. Coins is a fun hobby! But don’t handle them without cleaning off the germs and viruses. Sand off any sharp edges with an Emory cloth, especially around the edges. No one wants a germie rough-edged slug of metal.

    Hi Dan, how are you doing??. Good I hope. My name is Doug S. I wanted to tell you or I should say ask you a couple questions. #1. I believe I have found maybe the first doubled die 1982D small date reverse. I've looked and looked. And it's almost identical to the Philadelphia small date. Also I have found a 1983 doubled die reverse #1. And last one. A 1970s Kennedy 40% U. N. C. Half. And Mr Dan I honestly believe it's a doubled die. If so would it be the first proof Kennedy S. Doubled die obverse found. T. Y Dan. Have a great day buddy!!!. You rock!!!.

    I know this is an old video and it is quite helpful. My question is what if what you have everything is known? You have a graded “X” of whatever and price guide lists it at $1200. They’re selling on eBay for $1k. What’s a dealer going to offer for it and will that offer be the same from one person who has no clue, to the next guy who has been collecting for 20 years?

    Here's a question that has probably been asked many times. Can a coin struck for circulation be graded as mint state? I have two whole rolls of bank wrapped 2019 P nickles. I picked up a box from my CU and after opening 3-4 rolls of nothing up 2019 P I set 2 rolls aside that have 2019 enders. The CU said they get sent in from the Federal Reserve. These coins are relatively unmarked, very little to no baggage nicks and near pristine. I know they are pretty much all worth no more than FV, but still. I'm curious.

    • @CoinHELPu
      @CoinHELPu  Před 4 lety +1

      All business strike coins are mint state until they circulate and obtain wear. And the newer coins are known for being well struck and "pristine" so they're not worth as much when graded high as their vintage counterparts.

    I’m organizing all of my change/coins based off of the year it was made…. Any recommendations on a website, app, spreadsheet set up, to check by the year to find rare coins or coins worth money? I feel like when I google by the year, I get all kinds of things pop up, but not a single link that goes through those years by including everything to look out for.
