My favourite picture book at the moment is Du iz tak? By Carson Ellis. It's a story written in a made-up language about some insects that find something in the ground, and are trying to figure out what it is.
The illustrations in it are beautiful and each page shows the same scene as the seasons change and characters come and go. It's such a great book to use for teaching because it helps teach students critical thinking skills and it levels the playing field for students who are still learning English! And I truly believe it could be used with students from K-12! There's so much you can do with it!

I just discovered you recently. Love the videos and explanations. They’re very specific and informative. Thanks for these. The one thing that I’d love to learn is stylized illustration that doesn’t rely so much on outlines to distinguish shapes as is often done in comics. I love the look of ‘outline-less’ illustration as is found in many children’s books and would be interested in your take on how you define color shapes without the use of outlines (if you haven’t already done so).

I tried making a picture book years ago but the illustration process was very difficult so I moved onto to writing a novel which is still in progress. And I agree, representation is important and it does feel like a responsibility to make sure everyone is included. I love the style of your art, so it was really interesting to hear so much about your thought process as you work on it. I love the fact that you include so many geometric, mid-century elements, but everything still feels so fresh and modern!
I'm an elementary school teacher, so my idea for future videos that I'd love to see is something that I could share with my students! If you had some short, simple videos that were appropriate for young kids, that would be so awesome! I also loved that you include all those little details and Easter eggs in your drawings because those are such great teaching tools. I love using mentor texts in my class and having details like that make the book so much better for classroom use!
Thanks for making such great content! 😊

Thank you! That's a great suggestion and I'll try to create videos like that in the future :)

@@AnooshaSyed the kids I teach really enjoy tutorial videos for how to draw different characters, but I think they'd also find it interesting to hear a bit about your process (as long as it doesn't take more than a couple minutes 😆).

That is such a helpful tip about using Procreate with an iPad to create the art.
I am currently using a HUION graphic pen display but it is so much bulkier than an iPad.
