Hey Anoosha, thanks for your great contents ! I'm a full-time children's book illustrator from a third world country so I totally could relate to what you said about getting low budgets because of my location... But it's all a matter of being confident enough and trusting in your ability to create amazing works ! I can say I'm proud of myself for making it into the traditional publishing world and getting represented, but it's never a definitive win because we artists are always learning and growing. Hi Anoosha, could you do a video talking about working with studios like Disney, Netflix, PBS etc. How do you ask for work for your portfolio when the project is completed, what are you allowed to use and what not to use.

@@AmnaAbbas04 I'll note that for my character design work (for the studios you mentioned), since I do development work (early exploration design work), I'm never allowed to share that work. :(
For full-time projects there is a bit more leniency if you ask, but I haven't had a lot of experience in those positions. I have a secret password-protected page in my portfolio which includes that work, so if animation recruiters need to see my portfolio, I direct them there.
@@AnooshaSyed Im currently working with an animation studio in Pakistan, and I wanted to know if I leave mid project (due to personal reasons), how will I acquire the objects and assets I designed and all the shots I animated from key frames to clean up? Is there any official process or will it vary from studio to studio? It would be unfortunate to have worked 3 years on this film and nothing to show for it.

This video is so helpful! I watched it all the way through probably twice already and keep referencing parts of it whenever I get a new commission. I usually illustrate for individuals/super small non-profit organizations or for small departments at public universities, so it's been interesting to figure out how to shift my rate based on folks' budgets.

Anoosha! Thank you so so much! This video helped me a lot. As an artist from third world country, who is just starting out, I've been super super supeeer undercharged by some people or agencies. Maybe I'm at the fault as well. Looking back where I Was a year and half ago, I was pretty good and could deliver the best quality that they would expect. But I had lower self-esteem or didn't know the industry rates, so I let myself being charged less and less. But I learnt a lot from this video, I hope I'll do better in terms of pricing in future. Thank you again!
