Feel like the Johnny Marr influence on Noel is clear as anything here
I thought that as well. This is very Johnny marr type riff
Agreed
Great point. This Wonderwall riff reminds me of the end of Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others.
@@RC-fi8nn I thought the same!
every 90s british guitarrist has Marr as their biggest influence
Noel doesn't get enough credit for the picking parts he layers under songs. Very well constructed and accurately played.
I wonder if it was him or bonehead tho
@@hatesitrick I don't honestly think Noel would have given Bonehead the chance. I wouldn't be surprised if all guitar parts, bass inc, are solely Noel on Wonderwall.
@@Kossman58You're right. Bonehead didn't play on Wonderwall. Noel did all guitars and bass
@@rtraktsdn1197 He played the mellotron on Wonderwall. It's the cello sounding part.
This same riff is used in Talk Tonight! It's so cool that Noel recycled this same melody in another song and creates this musical connection which gives both songs so much more depth
It’s musical Continuity
No wonder that riff sounded so familiar the first time I listened to Talk Tonight! It complements the rest of the song so well that I didn't even notice lol. The more you know!
@@ganglestank supposedly the songs have the same lyrical subject
@@SmallvillenerdTwo that’s conceptual continuity
same chords used for 'd'you know what i mean?'
This riff goes so well with the rest of the guitars in Wonderwall.
The piano riff that trails off at the end goes HARD.
This part always jumped out to me when I listened to that song. Great pick.
Exactly! I used to be the guy in uni who would play this part even if I was the only guitarist. I would legit stop the normal chords and play this instead, it's so beautiful and underappreciated
Same here. Y’all ain’t listening close enough if you don’t hear this jump out!
I love this melody so much, my favorite part of the whole song.
I'll definitely bust this out next time someone says, "play wonderwall!" Thanks for making us cooler, Nikola!
When I get that request I'll often do the Ryan Adams version.
Good luck to anyone being able to hear this over my 'singing'.
While I’m surprised people wouldn’t recognize this riff instantly, your playing is super smooth. Well done.
"You said you'd never play Wonderwall!!!" "I said maybe..."
For those in the know. I found out 10 or so years ago when I was a newbie, learning the song from the cifra club video
Sick brag man
That's awesome lol. Its interesting how this song is the go-to example when people talk about super easy guitar songs that get overplayed by beginners, but also has this pretty melody in the mix not too many people notice.
Yep, it's really beautiful. I often play this instead of strumming in the pre-chorus, when I sing it. Although it feels a little "thin" in terms of "sound width" compared to the full strumming parts of verse and chorus it is wrapped by, it just is so beautiful that it catches the listener's attention.
This has always been my favorite part of wonderwall
Noel used to put those everywhere in the first three albums. Supersonic has a couple of very cool arrangements too. He just seemed to lose interest in overlapping guitars and focused on vocal melodies as time went on.
The overlapping guitars on Morning Glory are fantastic
The simplicity of this shows his genius
I've always loved this guitar part and it adds such a nice texture to the song.
for some reason i never noticed this part as a separate guitar
Right? Haha
the most interesting things in Wonderwall are this arpeggio and the tasty drumming
The cello does the trick
@@jannickfranck3864 you mean the mellotron
I love the way you play it, awesome! now I must learn this classic too!! These open string riffs are the best
The neat thing is that it's effectively just the riff from, "Talk Tonight."
Noel's so good at lifting melodies he sometimes lifts them from himself. God bless him! Long live Oasis!
I think I need to go watch live performance of this now. It is honestly the most Wonderwall kind of day. Raining. Drizzly. Barely gotten out of bed. Eyes hurt from crying. Watching the kings speech. Thinking about old girlfriends.
I just love anything that walks down with grace the way this did
Thank you! People never talk about this arpeggiated bit!
Always loved this part of the song.
Beautiful
Well, I didn't know this, and this certainly gave me more of an appreciation for the song
finally, someone gets it down for the record...thankyou!
This and the world has turned and left me here are my favourite acousitc arpeggios.
Stunning
preaty cool !!
I love the camera view.
Noel uses that riff in about 4 songs! Talk tonight being one of them
nice stuff to play to end the song when you’re playing alone
Certainly picked Talk Tonight from that part on the D Chord.
This is super cool
Excellent
That’s a beautiful pick
Ive been playing guitar since i was 17 im 35 now, Wonderwall was my first song, and many oasis songs after.
I buy friends oasis chord books when they wwnt to start playing
Taken out of context this sounds like proper mid west emo.
Magic pie has some awesome riffs in the mix it’s trademark Noel he does the simple sublimely well on lots of his songs.
Bonehead played this riff during the knebworth gig ! But Noel’s guitar was too loud you can’t really hear it .
Absolutely. Always stood out to me.
Sounds like these people never actually listened to the song tbh. It's quite an obvious section with a catchy melody!
I always thought this part sounded badass af
The most calming riff ever i don't care how much hate this songs gets its still one of the most well written songs ever
What kind of guitar do you play and what kind of strings do you put on it?
Noel didn’t waste it, it’s pretty much the main riff in the chorus to Talk Tonight.
Gotta respect the implied A major though
Reminds me of eternal moment by yutaka hirasaka
Beautiful, my favorite part of this song. Did noel do this part???
One part is overplayed and wrong but I don't doubt it, genius.
Excellent way of playing wonderwall. Now the space from chon please? lol
Hahah 😂 did you see that they released a tab book for Homey after like 6-7 years. Even Sheet Happens needs years to tab Chon songs lol
If you wonder why I like Wonderwall… the chord progressions.. it just works.
Maybe.. this is gonna be the riff that saves me.
All can hear is "I want to talk tonight"
Bro your guitar sounds incredible! What model is it?
Thank you! It's some Chinese brand called Mei Mei. Got it when it started playing for around $150
@@nikolagugoski It's incredible, you found a gem!
I'm finding nothing on Google for Mei Mei acoustic guitars. I don't suppose you know the store or website?
Liam, can we have that cool riff in the middle?
Liam: I SAID MAYBEEEEEEE
This reminds me of John Denver
🙌🏼
My brain is broken and I was expecting the buddy holly guitar lick to show up
nice riff i will steal some parts, i still have the worlds no1 wonderwall cover(chords) have found something new 🧠😅 undeniable
it would be amazing if you could do a tutorial of Vertigo by Surfliner & Wendy Lane
The same lick is played in the background of the chorus of « Talk Tonight »
Slice of life anime type beat
Noel tries to make out that the first two albums just fell out of his arse one day, but the effort behind many of those early songs is testament to the fact that there was always a little bit more to it than he would freely let on. These songs were a masterpiece, not necessarily for their complexity, but for the impact that they had both at the time and their enduring legacy, 30 years later. There isn't a serious guitarist alive who hasn't tangled with this tune at least once in their journey. There's not just the riff in this song, but how about Bonehead's second guitar with barre chords? Yet another nuance that is seen in the video, but never in any live performance.
Good luck w that
Sounds a lot like Talk Tonight
Basically what I do with the song too ,it's all there around the chords ,why not add to it and make it better which you do.
This will have like 10 million views in 5 years.
What guitar are you using?
one of my friends forbids us to play wonderwall on jams so next time ill play this instead and see how long it takes til he figures out... XD
It's not loud enough in the mix. Criminal
🤘😈
🎸
It's a cool riff in a cool song by a cool band.
Cool
What model is guitar?
Oasis has cool riffs its just people never give them a chance
How to put the camera like that tho?
The camera is in front of me, but recording from higher. Then I just flip the video in editing
Smiths vibes❤
He took the same riff and made another song called ‘talk tonight’
Nik I love you
Hi
not you bro I meant Nikola Gugoski!
@@nikegert9120
Love you too
Hello Nikola
Hi
What guitar is that?
It's some chinese brand. I got it when I started playing for around $150
If a person plays Wonderwall in public, it must be a prerequisite that they be able to play this part too. Otherwise and only otherwise they are a poser.
Jk ofc but really though this part is so beautiful and criminally underplayed
unpopular opinion: wonderwall is a great song, it's just over played
isn't that the literal popular opinion
What are you saying ? Its another Nickelback case ???
haha. I don't think its overplayed!
I think it’s overplayed in the guitar community
Nope, the stinking chorus are literal nuke alarms 🤮
Excuse me, what guitar is that?
It's some Chinese brand called Mei Mei. Got it for $150 when I started playing
@@nikolagugoski Oh, I see! Thanks for answering 😁
I can feel the J-Pop vibe
no way Noel played that
He's a better guitarist than he let's on. Especially in the studio
Say maybeeeeeee
And after aaaaaaaaaaaaa
I like this riff, but I can’t sing while playing it.
How do you play this fast and efficiently? What is the secret? Seriously?
I don't think there is a secret. Just be aware of which chord you are playing and pay attention to the picking. You can try the way I pick (in terms of which strings are played with down strokes/ up strokes), but if that's not comfortable try your own way :) And as always, be sure to start slow
Hi
Hi
I don’t understand the question in the title. Is this riff not from Wonderwall?
It is indeed from Wonderwall, the title is suggesting (probably entirely correctly) that some people won't have noticed this riff part before.
Somebody asked me if I liked Oasis
I said maaaaybeeeee
You ever play Wonderwall ? Ah ya, but not the middle part.....
Don't Look Back in Anger is my Favorite Beatles Song.
🙄
Forget about the guitaring this songs about the lyrics
3 chord wonders
Gonna guess 99% of people who can play the song can't play that.
If you warch the mtv unplugged version you can hear bonehead picking some of those parts, especially the first part.
Pretty midwest emo
my guitar book from 1996 called and wants its video back. i think we all know this brahhhhh
no. the answer posed in the title of your question is "no, it doesn't"
I don't understand why everyone is so hard up on this song
Don't worry, they don't even understand themselves
