The thing that always gets me about Josh is how effortlessly he plays this stuff, and often while singing a completely different melody over the top of it. And dancing. Dudes a god.
an inspiration for sure
For me, its how they basically do nirvana thing or elliot smith, have a strong melody and find some way to follow it through messy but also aimed guitar
Josh Homme is an all time underrated guitar player. He's not flashy or technical but he thinks so far outside the box that it almost makes it a different instrument.
Underrated? Really?
@@nelsonsilva2003 yes
Yo no he visto que sea subestimado. De hecho, tiene harto reconocimiento en el mundo de la música y el rock. No creo que lo subestimen como dices
how is he underrated? QOTSA is a mainstream band, millions of people listened to the No One Knows guitar riff, stop acting like he's some indie act
@@KUM0 if you would read my comment I said he was an underrated guitar player. If you want to argue that let’s go ahead
Stoner rock riffage in C standard is just such a perfect sound to my ears
that riff from Turnin On the Screw just does something to me
Love this band so much. Finally saw them live last year! Incredible show!
That's awesome!
One of the best shows I’ve ever seen. The band was so tight! Unforgettable
Seeing them live on April 14 in Quebec city for the first time :) can’t wait!!!!
Anytime I’m feeling overwhelmed in my life I like to sit outside with the crickets in the dark and play the mosquito song on an acoustic
sick sick sick such a sick riff
Took the exact words out of my mouth
Please a full tutorial of The evil has landed
I'll definitely give it a try if there is more interest
Yes please! I second this one!
@@nikolagugoskithere is more interest!!!
I needed these tabs, heck yeah, and you nailed every tone, wonderful job there!
Thanks for including a variety of songs. Fun to play! Should make a part 2
Saw QOTSA live last November. It's incredible how great they sound live, Spotify doesn't do their music justice! If you could make a full tutorial on Emotion Sickness it would make my day, there aren't any good tutorials for that song on the internet right now.
Woah! This is amazing!! Quality as always!
Wow this is extremely well done!!! Keep up the good work can’t wait to learn some of these.
Awesome work!! Love working out to these sick Qotsa riffs
Killer set of riffs!!! Great choices here
Thanks Sean! Glad you liked this :)
Great song / riff selection. First time I saw someone playing "Hanging' Tree". Fantastic little riff! :) Keep up your great work!
Thank you! Glad you liked the video
Great selection! Such fantastic riffs!
Thank you! Glad you liked the video 🙂
damn you absolutely nailed all of these tones!!
QOTSA is my fav band of all time! Great video man!
Great tone!
Great vid, much appreciated
Love your inclusion of auto pilot. Such a hauntingly beautiful song. A full cover w tabs would be amazing
awesome dude
Amazing as always, Никола, уи нийд а парт 2 оф дис 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Awesome video, I was waiting to see a video of someone playing emotion sickness clearly - thanks :)
Thank you! There is this channel called Let's play all and he did pretty in depth lesson for Emotion sickness. For both Josh and Troy's parts
i was waiting for the Smooth Sailing riff
Yeah, I definitely missed a few 😁
@@nikolagugoskido a pt 2
It’s the best one 😂
Sick Sick Sick is so fun to watch
Saw them for the 10th time on Saturday night. Impeccable as always.
What a beautiful tele
Nice top ❤
So many unique and badass riffs. Homme is a god
Beautiful riffs uwu
Delighted to aee Betrer Living... included here. Great taste!
Such a great songwriter. I love Josh Homme's quirckiness. I'm trying to decide which QOTSA song I want to learn next. I do tend to lean more towards his songs in C STandard.
That telecaster is playing superbly! Congrats
Fantastic video, banger after banger!
Josh Homme has provided us with, the best heavy rock riffage of the 21st century, maybe (I do love me some post-Layne genius Jerry Cantrell and the almighty Tool as well of course.)
I love QOTSA and that band was the band that made me want to start playing guitar.
As a massive JF fan ive been following you for quite some time, but this really takes it full circle! ❤
PS: Where is someones in the wolf!?
Thanks for watching man! Appreciate the support.
I had that song in my list but probably switched it with some other song last minute. I definitely missed a few good songs in the video. Maybe I'll do part 2 😁
@@nikolagugoskiyou did an amazing job with these. I’ve been trying to find a good one for I appear missing for ages and you’ve nailed it here.
Very well played!! Good to play i appear missing but i think one of the best guitar riffs of all qotsa is the solo of fairweather friends.
Best band of fucking history
Can you do head like a haunted house please? Favorite song from that album
100% agree with this list
Thanks Cameron! Glad you liked it 🙂
Hey, great job as always, a pleasure to listen to! What string gauge and brand do you use for this tuning?
Thanks for watching! I use 10-46 on the strat and 10-52 on the tele for C standard
Now for some Kyuss riffs 🙏
Nice tone! what pedals are you using?
Good list but feel like If Only should be here. All time riff
will there be a full tab version of Emotion Sickness? 🤘
Josh is one of the most creative on the instrument of all time.
Welp, time to listen to Queens all morning for the 1000th time 🤘🏼
greeeeaaat boost on the last riff. proper job, thanx! black on black tele with a humbucker is japanese? beautiful axe
Thank you! The Tele is made in Mexico
The beauty is that it's simple and it's all about TONE.
Emotion sickness sounds very them crooked vultures. Also small mistake, I’m pretty sure josh is playing major chords not power chords for i think i lost my headache.
Thanks for watching! Are you referring to the two chords after A major on I thinks I lost my headache?
@@nikolagugoski yeah, but i learned it by watching the from the basement performance so im not sure if its like that on the album version since i haven’t listen editing to it in a while
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sick Sick Sick, Regular John and many more are sons of Gardenia
I’m in love with the tone. What did u use?
Thank you! On the telecaster it's just a Guitar rig 5 preset. On the strat, beside Guitar rig 5 I use a pedal called Joyo American Sound
Why did it take me till today to realize Josh Homme is so underrated. Awesome riffs.
If you're a TOOL fan, you may have already heard another Homme riff (Demon Cleaner by Kyuss). Kyuss was such a great band!!
Wicked Video definitely gonna try these out but could you please say what tuning these songs are in because ik they vary from standard to 2 whole steps down for example 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you! What's played on the Strat is E standard. Everything else is C standard. The tuning is written at the beginning of every tab 🙂
@@nikolagugoski ahh I didn’t see that thanks very much. Awesome video
That Autopilot part was written by Nick Oliveri, years before Qotsa: Josh wrote the solo part and the drums. The Hangin Tree riff was written by Alain Johannes (Desert Session 7/8). The Milionaire riff was written by Mario Lalli (Desert Sessions 5). My God is the Sun sound like a Dean Fertita riff, I guess Josh didn't wrote it. Josh loves to collaborate with good musicians
I LOVE the evil has landed - very Them Crooked Vultures
🔥🙌🏼🖤🤘🏼
Forst time i ever heard the intro to "My God Is The Sun" i knew it was an instant classic
how to get that tone?
I think Josh is my favourite guitar player. Rory Gallagher, Gary Moore, Hendrix, Satriani, all amazing, but there's just something about the way Josh plays that puts him above all of them for me.
Can you do a lesson on Sunday by Iggy Pop plz? Great riff in that one by Mr Homme
1:00 from midnight club 3 game
🤘😈
🎸
What model type is the black fender?
It's a Blacktop Telecaster made in Mexico
Auto Pilot sounded great!
Thank you! Glad you liked it :)
Rated R is so good
I think it’s funny because some of these are not Josh’s guitar parts. Hanging Tree was Alain. I wanna say the part you play in I Appear Missing was written by Dean or Troy.
Senti falta de in my head
my favorite riff of them has to be the opening riff on how to handle a rope
Nice, your touch is a bit too light on the strumming hand though, he digs in more. Otherwise, super awesome playing!
qotsa
What about the missing tunings?
Josh homme is a God ⚡️
Only one I would have added is Avon
Better Living Through Chemistry is surprisingly difficult to play.
Missing the sky is falling
smooth sailing?!?
QOTSA best bands underraated ever
Love to see Paper Machete
I have a full song lesson for Paper Machete. You can find it on the channel 🙂
@@nikolagugoski thanks!
I actually stumbled upon it shortly after posting.
Love your work!
Can’t ever take QOTSA lists seriously that don’t have Monsters In The Parasol in them! Besides that - nice work!
No Paper Machete 😢
For Josh, I think that's a pretty weak and generic sounding riff
@@APAL880 It's simple but cool
Thumbnail has my favorite riff. Nothing crazy, but bouncy as fuck.
Nothing crazy, but bouncy as fuck is a great description for most of these 😁
And if only?
uuu💀💀🤟🏻🤟🏻
A++±++±++
i guess stoner revival soon
tablature
.
...in no particular order.
Tone needs more gain tbh. But nice playing
Yeah, honestly I have trouble getting good high gain tones. I use Guitar rig 5 (which is a pretty old software). I should probably switch and try some newer ones
You ever see Troy reviewing that Reverb video about getting QOTSA tones? The whole time he was like "cool... but way too much gain, everyone thinks the guitars need distortion but they're pretty clean". They're just loud as hell, and going through a whole bunch of amps sometimes to really build up a full tone
@@cactustactics yeah, I watched that video and kept that in mind. Still, I don't think my tone is anywhere near the original since I don't use real amps or any pedals similar to theirs
@@nikolagugoski they're pretty decent! I feel like it's more about the vibe than anything
Top? What? Noise?
No mosquito song? Shame on you!
прослушал все песни и не нашел ни одного интересного музыкального произведения, ужасно
Terrible interpretation
😢
boring riffs
:(
Ok
I agree
Could you do the same, but with Kyuss riffs?
.
