yet another agency shift , this time a CLASS 1 HGV doing multi-drop deliveries. vlog EP 6
-PLEASE NOTE THIS IS ALL BASED ON MY OPPINION.....
today marks my 8th shift amongst driver agencies, hopefully this vlog provides a small insight into the different type of work an agency may give you, as well as what day to day life is like for a multi-drop driver. I give my personal opinions on what its like tips and hints ect. PLEASE NOTE BY NO MEANS AM I RIGHT OR WRONG THIS IS JUST MY OPINION AND HOW I LIKE TO DO THINGS MY VERY OWN WAY.
I covered a longer shift starting at 0900hrs and finished at 1800hrs for £17hr, I drove a class 1 to multiple locations, delivering food related pallets and other metal and wooden goods for various different companies, who offloaded all my pallets, x18 pallets and lots of local stops.... I REALLY HAD TO WORK FOR THIS ONE !!!!

Hello Kev, As a you-tuber-(V,Logger) you come across as very entertaining with given good interests for us HGV drivers or those looking to come into the HGV Industy. I've since watched three of your videos and the last one was the DPD video, Liked all three of them. I will certainly be looking forward to watching many more and catching up with your previous completed videos as I said they are joy to watch, more so educational too. Many thanks from me Steve here in Manchester.

I think the best piece of advice I got for multi drop was you can’t be bigger than your shadow, if you can see your shadow 👍

Beware if the delivery/collection address is on a BUSINESS PARK - they're not really configured for HGV'S bigger that 7.5 ton. They're designed for Jenkins in his black company Audi to attend a business meeting. INDUSTRIAL ESTATES however mostly are and usually, but not always accommodate larger HGV'S. Great sound advice. If in doubt, park up and go for a walk and check it out.

I couldn’t recommend one as they are all so different and location has a big part to play on your rate of pay however my advice would be call a few up and wroght down the ones that offer the best rates for your time !!!!

This is the exact same thing I'm doing full time at Freightroute. Money's shit but they gave me 2 weeks training so not chucking me straight out on my own in an artic. Imo it's the best experience I could be getting because of the places I have to get in and out of. They'll give me my ADR soon too. For me it's a stepping stone. The work itself is a piece of piss.

Maybe agency disclosed or certified tour qualies before you arrived for the shift(s)?
BTW...informative vlog....all too few focus upon the all too common but avoidable, ultra-low pay rates....none should have unpaid breaks when expected to look after truck during rests? As not many office workers take a break expected to look after offices? Also, base rates available are now widely available at £18.00- £20.00/hr with OT after 8 hrs. Maybe why so few stick with HGV as reality is 60hr weeks for pay available elsewhere at 40hr weeks? But the driving is very, very enjoyable away from awfully low pay, awful conditions as in NO Toilets often available anywhere other than side of road after 2000hrs?

Multi drop is common for class 2 and with class 1 you can do 1 drop and back, very easy.

Why eat burgers when you can eat salad and get skinny ….. everyone’s got their own preferences and tbh I don’t choose the work I just tip up and crack on. If that company says it’s multi drop with class then that’s what it is … who am I to say otherwise 😂 🤷🏽‍♂️
