Subscribed a month ago. Good to see you back. Passed the class 2 test on February 6th and start my first full time job in a weeks time. It's multi dropping and only £13 ph. Had to start somewhere. Will do time there then apply for other jobs. I like your content because you have a great attitude. Keep it up.
Thanks so much buddy, and you’re 100% correct you’ve Gotta start somewhere to get the experience build up don’t stay too long as soon as you start the job after your first month start hunting down the next one👌🏻 I made a good video on how to hunt for jobs
Bro we need more of that. I passed my test in October last year and recently got my allmi brick grab certification. Really good watch mate. All the best 👍
Thanks mate 🫡
Passed my Class 2 8 months ago. Walked straight into a Class 2 Food Service job with no experience other than Retail work. £34k a year plus £1.5k attendance bonus. Hard work as a lot of handball but a great place to start and get experience. I applied for everything out there and food delivery seemed to take on new drivers as they have a shortage.
That’s great mate it’s all about getting your foot in the door!!!!
Hello Kev, I'm doing my hgv test in a couple of weeks. Trying to get as much info as possible. Thanks for the videos, they're very informative. Can't wait to start earning money.
Where in the UK?
Torquay, Devon.
What area ?
Thermos flasks are number 1 you can fill up in the morning pipein hot and it is still hot next morning and for cold drinks eg MILK it's as cold 24 hrs later as when put in.
Thanks as always good stuff kev. Just wondering how you track your full time job hours with your part time drivinf against the working time directive? Thanks
Welcome back lad...
its been a while haha
I thought I recognised that road lol.. you drove passed my house! I believe the film set was for a new wizard of oz film (possibly called wicked or something like that). I have just received my provisional and wanted to get going with what I could afford but turns out you have 4 month after your Dr's to pass the test and not sure I can raise the couple of grand just yet. Can you take the multiple choice/hazard perception before the Dr's or does it have to be after? I assume it is afterwards.
I got a chillies mug and drove from newcastle to Oxford took a sip from it at jct 21 on the M1 and nearly burned my mouth 3.5 hrs later
ouch !! lol & those things are also brilliant !!
I'm in crawley any advice on which to choice ?
I get paid 21.61ph plus 108 bonus for weekends as a pm driver on a rigid .Class 1 get between 60-70k depending on how many hours you do , pm being from 11am to 6 pm any time between those times . I get about 56k a year doing only about 45-50hrs a week and the job is dead easy , some places where we have to deliver to are crap but that is why I guess we get paid fair . In case people are wondering the company is the one that does the Mcdonalds .
@@dmitrijlife2548 Before tax . To get 56k net you need to be earning in the region of 80k.
This is rare to be making as much as hgv driver in the UK, especially doing no more than 50hours a week.
@@blacov89 That is our pay , it can be checked online , people will be surprised when they hear how much our colleagues from Manchester earn compared to the rest of that area . Don`t get me wrong , the job is nice and easy but parking sometimes is made really difficult because of people but every job has it`s ups and downs . ( minimum I get for 40hrs per week is 972 before taxes but sometimes you work about 32-34 hrs a week and get paid for 40 which is not bad at all to be honest) . I am hoping I will retire from this company , that is how good I find it working here.
@@filipdobrin6515 I am in the south-east. Just outside west London. I am currently casually looking at jobs offers and the highest rate I have seen was some weekend rate for royal mail in London agency work. Around £21ish per hour. I am not saying you can't find job paying as good as yours but it is rare if rates around London rarely reach this level.
I have a automatic car licence and was wondering if it was it worth getting an automatic HGV licence class1? How hard would it be to find work on just an automatic licence? As I have never really fancied manual driving but I love automatics.
To be honest 99% of trucks are automatic quite rare you get a manual one
@@TRUCKERKEV cheers for the reply!! and love your videos 🤙🏼
Hello mate, good video. Is it just me but the last section with the hoody has no sound for me?
I’ve had to raise it up with CZcams no idea why they muted the last segment bud 😭🤦🏽♂️
@@TRUCKERKEV Ok mate thanks.
Perhaps if they don't alter it you could put a brief note on any salient points in the comments.
How much did you pay for the fuel out of 200 earned?
I’ve recently passed my class 1 two weeks ago and I’m finding it hard to find a job, which is a good agency to use in North Wales? Much appreciated.
Unfortunately Nathan a lot of people are in the same situation as yourself the best thing I can recommend is to find jobs that accept new drivers and are willing to take them on I made a really good video I’m finding jobs in your local area through google 👌🏻 hope it helps bud !!! And congratulations 🥳
@@TRUCKERKEV much appreciated
Where in north wales? I’m from north wales and debating getting a hgv c+e but want to make sure I get the work
Cheers
I passed my hgv class 2 a month ago. Started this job delivering carpets. Salary is £31k. I'm planning to
Move jobs asap because I think it is very low
Payed
Very low indeed !! Have a look at one of my vids on how to look for work it may help
Depends on area, I've seen class 2 on £24k in Southampton. I was on class 1 on £26k basic last year. Done it for 2 months and now on £41 basic
Its a bit different here in NZ. We are paid by experience, skills, loads, loyalty etc. Always different where you are though. Ive driven loads of places. If I was younger i would be in OZ. I could earn $3500 a week + easy.....DAM YOU KIDS ha ha ha.
Who's the worst payers?
Bus driver pay is shit
Passed my class 1 last Tuesday but no company will touch me because i have no experience.
Also there’s no shortage of drivers now and in fact there’s less work now too
Passed my class 1 secured a job with BCA , got my 2 weeks training coming up. Just apply for all jobs even if they say 6 months experience. I got a few job offers from doing this. Good luck 🤞
@@Red-Army1975 thanks for the advice 👍will do just that. Much appreciated 🙏.
i made a vid on how to hunt down jobs in your local area some of them will advertise new drivers welcome !! it may help but just keep trying its all about getting your foot through the door mate
@@TRUCKERKEV I really appreciate all your help and yes i will keep trying.thanks again.
Not being rude u like Luke C sorry be to rude have a good day
It’s not unfortunate that up north we are payed less , bare in mind that I live in Liverpool and the average house here is 200k and I pay 570 a month rent , in London your are probably paying over a grand , so if you factor that in you are on more up north in some cases
Things getting so bad drivers selling there own stock.
