  • A delicious creamy pork chop recipe made in the Instant Pot!
    Ingredients:
    4-6 bone-in pork chops
    1 lb of mushrooms, sliced
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
2 Tbsp minced garlic (3 cloves)
    1 cup chicken broth
    1 brown onion, diced
2 tsp Tony Chachere’s More Spice Creole Seasoning (salt substitute)
    Black pepper to taste
    1/2 cup sour cream
    1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp soy sauce (or more to taste)
Cornstarch slurry (1 tbsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water mixed)
NOTE: I neglected to show how to finish the sauce. Remove the cooked pork chops and thicken sauce with cornstarch slurry. Ensure the sautee function is on. Cook until thickened, about 1 minute. Add sour cream Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce and combine. Add pork chops to warm and then serve and enjoy! 🙂
Also, if you like your pork chops to fall off the bone, please set manual cooking time to 18 mins with a 10-15 minute natural pressure release time.

Once you brown the meat, you can essentially launch everything in without scraping the bottom, and start. It all smooths out on its own. Also, when you add a pound of mushrooms you can reduce the broth by half as they give off a ton of water.

I was given an instant pot for Christmas and have watched several videos, but yours was the first one that showed the front panel of the pot and showed the release process....and you are the first person I've seen who browned the meat first. Most of the videos I watched they put skinless chicken breasts, pork chops or hamburger in the pot then add one cup of water and cook it like that....ugh. A delicious creamy pork chop recipe made in the Instant Pot!
Ingredients: *Sizzle Test to see if pan is ready, couple drops of water.
    2 Tbsp Olive Oil
    4-6 bone-in pork chops
    1 lb of mushrooms, sliced
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
2 Tbls minced garlic (3 cloves)
    1 cup chicken broth
    1 brown onion, diced
2 tsp Tony Chachere’s More Spice Creole Seasoning (salt substitute)
    Black pepper to taste
    1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    1 tsp soy sauce
    Ingredients for Thickening Sauce:
1/2 cup sour cream (or more to taste) Corn starch slurry (1 tbsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water mixed)
Press Saute (More High Setting) Add 2 Tbsp of Olive Oil, wait a couple minutes, do *Sizzle test.
Season pork chops with Spice creole seasoning and black pepper.
Brown the pork chops on both sides approx. 3 minutes a side. Remove pork chops. Add onions and ¼ cup of the chicken broth. Cook the onions until translucent, add the minced garlic and mushrooms, cook the mushrooms down, then add Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce, add remaining chicken broth. Add back in the browned pork chops. Top the pork chops with the full can of cream of mushroom soup. Press cancel to cancel Saute, Put Lid on and make sure valve is set to Sealing.
Also, if you like your pork chops to fall off the bone, please set manual cooking time to 18 mins High pressure with a 10-15 minute natural pressure release time.
NOTE: I neglected to show how to finish the sauce. Remove the cooked pork chops and thicken sauce with corn starch slurry. Ensure the sautee function is on. Cook until thickened, about 1 minute. Add sour cream. Add pork chops to warm and then serve and enjoy! 🙂

    • @cookingwithlori6566
      @cookingwithlori6566  Před 5 lety

Denise King Hmmm...are you sautéing veggies like mushrooms , onions first using the Sautée function? If you are cooking with veggies that have a lot of water just by adding everything at once under pressure, there’s going to be more liquid because as they cook the moisture is trapped inside. Also, you can use the sautee function after it’s done to reduce the amount of liquid down that way. Keep on trying! You got this!

I've been trying to make "Mom's Friday Night Pork Chops" for many years and have never come close.
Your Instant Pot recipe looks like I may have finally found a way to enjoy one of my favorite meals "Mom's Chops". The only difference is we had Baked Potatoes or Rice. Do you have any idea how good Potato Skins are with Mom's Pork Chop Gravy - Outa This World - That's All?
    Gonna try this Friday Night!!
